To think it’s not just me who gets a weird Fanjo feeling

My daughter just showed me where she cut herself shaving in the shower last night. She came downstairs yesterday and announced that she’d caused the bathroom to look “a bit like a crime scene” and this also brought on the same bodily response. When she showed me her wound just now it happened again.
DD noticed my reaction and claimed to know what I was experiencing.
we both describe it as a bit like when you go over one of those bumps in the road that make your tummy somersault briefly…except this is felt in the vagina region.
Why the hell would that happen? Does anyone else experience this? Is it our cervix clamping shut in some kind of anti preocreative response to danger - albeit a bit OTT a response?

Nope. I recognise javelin arse but not this one.

Never had javelin arse! But absolutely fanjo.

Newsenmum · 19/09/2024 20:56

Is it because it’s linked to pregnancy/birth especially if it’s because of your kids? I know the pelvis is linked to the jaw so to relax your pelvis with contractions you’re supposed to make sure your jaw is relaxed. Something there?

RabbitsRock · 19/09/2024 20:59

DM says she “ feels it in her pubes”, an example being when she’s close to the edge of a cliff

incywincyspidery · 19/09/2024 21:10

I get it if we drive past a dead animal that has been run over...

Ketzele · 19/09/2024 21:21

At last someone has said it! I've been waiting 50 years for my fearful fanny to be affirmed.

CrazyMare70 · 19/09/2024 21:29

I don’t get fanny gallops but it does make by boobs hurt?

makingmakingbaconpancakes · 19/09/2024 21:39

I get this but kind of all over me. The worst is if I see someone fall in a way they means their skin would be grazed or scraped, like from a height or off a motorbike. I can physically feel it on my skin and I shudder.

I tried to explain it to DH but he just looked very confused!

TaterTots68 · 19/09/2024 22:43

Yes! If I see/hear about something nasty (an injury to toes for example), it's like my fanny closes up! God knows what it thinks is going to happen

Fanny gallops... I get then when I am high up and look down

Fanny gallops are sexual like when you look at pictures of Pedro Pascal. Do you mean javelin arse?

Yes!! I get them constantly watching you’ve been framed with everyone injuring themselves, I’ve thought about making a thread about it for years but thought it was too weird, no one else had ever mentioned it. Pmsl at ‘Fanny gallops’ 😂😂

I used to get it when watching 'you've been framed' too!

fashionqueen0123 · 19/09/2024 22:59

Yes I get this. I always thought it was weird when people said their tummy went funny when going up high or going over a bump/bridge on the road quickly. It’s not in my tummy….!

I also get it if my kids are climbing up high. It must be connected to my fear of heights. But it’s bizarre how it’s the same feeling as if I’m on a drop rollercoaster. As I assumed it was something physical.

fashionqueen0123 · 19/09/2024 23:01

What’s javelin arse? 🤣

Definitelysometime · 19/09/2024 23:16

Yes! A squeamish fanny - I have this too

HughGrantsfurrysquirrel · 20/09/2024 02:11

Thanks for posting this. I always wondered what on earth that was.
This happens to me when i see something i find disturbing or upsetting. Especially anything to do with the brain, funnily enough. Old footage of patients in psychiatric hospitals having ECT for example.

I also have what's known as Misophonia. Someone making slurping noises or crunching crisps sets my fanny right on edge!!

Yep this! I feel my misophonia in my vulva and it is not particularly nice to feel anxiety there 🙃

SunriseMoon · 20/09/2024 16:45

I get it in my calves, it’s called mirror touch synaesthesia but minge cringe is a far better description

Choosenandenough · 21/09/2024 18:46

NewMe2024 · 18/09/2024 19:43

Oh my god I get that too!

I get it in my nipples! Feels like breastmilk letting down. If we’re watching telly and someone hurts themselves DP will quite often ask how my nipples are coping 😂

😂🤣🤣😂

Ahardyfool · 03/12/2024 21:40

I posted this a while back and it didn’t initially get much traction. Checked the thread today and it’s proving both comforting and hilarious! I am off to Google more about synasthesia. Thanks folks!

The feelings described sound like 'to have your loins wrung'. This term tends to be applied to men rather than women, but it's a similar feeling.
