To think it’s not just me who gets a weird Fanjo feeling

My daughter just showed me where she cut herself shaving in the shower last night. She came downstairs yesterday and announced that she’d caused the bathroom to look “a bit like a crime scene” and this also brought on the same bodily response. When she showed me her wound just now it happened again.
DD noticed my reaction and claimed to know what I was experiencing.
we both describe it as a bit like when you go over one of those bumps in the road that make your tummy somersault briefly…except this is felt in the vagina region.
Why the hell would that happen? Does anyone else experience this? Is it our cervix clamping shut in some kind of anti preocreative response to danger - albeit a bit OTT a response?

I feel it more in my bum but exactly as you’ve described. Some people call it the 5p/50p dance so I had always assumed everyone felt it. Its so interesting that some people don’t get this at all

Riverswims · 18/09/2024 20:20

I thought MN called it "involuntary fanny clench"
I've been saying that for years

HeliotropePJs · 18/09/2024 20:21

I knew immediately what you meant, OP, just from the thread title. I get that, too, and have all my adult life. It's usually triggered when I see, hear about, or even simply imagine someone being terribly injured. It's a bizarre sensation, like flinching, achy twinge.

(And yes to javelin arse, as well. I wonder if there's some connection between the two, that if you get one, you're more likely to also experience the other.)

Malvala · 18/09/2024 20:25

No no no fanny gallops is the contraction you get when you see someone you fancy. Kind of like a mini orgasmic contraction.

This needs a new name. Fearful fanny?

Gremle · 18/09/2024 20:25

No nothing !

Bit jealous actually ☹️

Lizzy7596 · 18/09/2024 20:31

Yes ! I get this also known as “ my Fanny’s gone funny “ 🤣.

BeyondMyWits · 18/09/2024 20:34

I get this too... the clench...

I can make it happen by just thinking of scraping the top of my foot on concrete (just THINKING of it!)

ladyflower23 · 18/09/2024 20:35

I get a feeling like an electric shock in my fanny if I see one of my DC injure or nearly injure themselves and my DH experiences the same in his groin. We wonder if it's because those are the areas they originated from 😂it's so weird

blitzen · 18/09/2024 20:43

Yes. I've heard people say their fanny is cringing. A fanny cringe. I know the feeling.

I get this electric shock feeling too but randomly and not in response to anything. Weird.

comeondover · 18/09/2024 20:46

It's minge cringe

TwinklyLightsAllNight · 18/09/2024 20:47

Yes I get this!

And also whenever I am sick, like with the flu, my vulva feels so weird and I have to cup it to relieve the sicky feeling it gives me!??

I'm sure DH says his balls ache when he feels poorly too

Jelnotjel · 18/09/2024 20:53

I used to be 'normal' but then one day while emotions were heightened I accidentally caused an injury to my child. I felt so wrong that ever since then I get that weird feeling when I see injuries on my children. It's been years and there are no signs of it going away.
It's not in my fanny as such but I know exactly what you're describing op. Like a shock twist inside low down in my abdomen.

Goody2ShoesAndTheFilthyBeast · 18/09/2024 20:59

When I see someone cut themselves or get cut or someone describes getting cut I get a sharp shooting pain in both my legs.
It's a form of synesthesia apparently, so I read.

Pomegranatecarnage · 18/09/2024 21:01

Yes! I have that too!

Sugarysnacks · 18/09/2024 21:01

This thread has been a revelation. I’ve never heard this discussed before and thought it was just me! I get it if I’m in a high rise building and look out the window or if I’m on a high bridge and look down into the river . Also if my grandchildren are climbing up a tree or climbing frame. Always a situation that I interpret as a possible risk.

PussGirl · 18/09/2024 21:07

I get it if I see something that looks dangerous happening to someone else. Even if watching a film.

HereForTheFreeLunch · 18/09/2024 21:08

Ahh I have found my people.
I posted this sometime back and the general consensus was that I was weird. 😃

Cattery · 18/09/2024 21:12

Standing at a height looking down makes my legs feel hollow

Jelly4444 · 18/09/2024 21:17

Yes! I thought this happened to everyone. It's like an electric shock that goes right up my spine. It happens when I see someone hurt themselves or if I'm up very high. When I was a child it happened if someone said something nasty to me.

I'm so shocked that not everyone feels this sensation.

SwankyPants · 18/09/2024 21:17

Yes! I posted about this some time ago 🤣

Tadpolecat · 18/09/2024 21:19

Yes! I get this and so does my mum. I assume all women must, but I've never heard anyone outside our family say this, until this thread😄

KurtShirty · 18/09/2024 21:20

Brilliant yes. Funnyfanny

poppinpink · 18/09/2024 21:20

I don't think I've ever had this 🤣 but oh how I've experienced the pain of javelin arse a few times!

OhMaria2 · 18/09/2024 21:21

JustFoldInTheCheeseDavid · 18/09/2024 19:37

Fanny gallops... I get then when I am high up and look down

I am dead🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
