To think it’s not just me who gets a weird Fanjo feeling

My daughter just showed me where she cut herself shaving in the shower last night. She came downstairs yesterday and announced that she’d caused the bathroom to look “a bit like a crime scene” and this also brought on the same bodily response. When she showed me her wound just now it happened again.
DD noticed my reaction and claimed to know what I was experiencing.
we both describe it as a bit like when you go over one of those bumps in the road that make your tummy somersault briefly…except this is felt in the vagina region.
Why the hell would that happen? Does anyone else experience this? Is it our cervix clamping shut in some kind of anti preocreative response to danger - albeit a bit OTT a response?

I get this but more around the bum. Obviously runs in the family as my Mum always used to say things like that gave her "the botty shivers" 😂

I remember as a kid my little brother saw something scary and said ‘that made my bum shiver’.
Both me and my mum knew exactly what he meant as we get it too. I get it when I’m high up and even looking at pictures of heights.

I get this. In fact, reading through the thread is making me have it. It feels like my vagina/perunium... don't know the spelling? is being pulled up from indide. It feels tingly almost. It's the weirdest feeling. Not unpleasant, but the sight/topic is always gory or awful. I'm also relieved it's not just me.

BrokenSushiLook · 18/09/2024 23:41

Yes I get this. It's like the sensation of your hairs standing on end but felt in the entirely hairless region around the vulva. Not in any way arousing but I think it's part of the adrenaline fight-or-flight prep we experience when we perceive danger.

Golightly133 · 18/09/2024 23:43

My knees feel like jelly if I see blood. Etc

GandDiva · 18/09/2024 23:49

I'm so glad I found this thread, I always thought I was just a bit weird! Thank you op!
I also sometimes get the sensation like my fanny goes completely numb like it has gone to sleep!

aloysiusflyte · 18/09/2024 23:54

I get this too! But I also feel like my whole bum area goes cold (like being plunged into freezing water) at the sight of danger. Sometimes I will physically sweat afterwards too depending how scary it was.

Heights give me sweaty palms but that's different!

DadJoke · 18/09/2024 23:57

My DP gets it from seeing Piers Morgan.

turquoiseturquoise · 19/09/2024 00:12

What is javelin arse

What is javelin arse

It's that sharp, sudden cramping lots of women get, often around their period. It's like a contraction from hell, you have to stop and breathe through it. It's like someone's rammed a javelin up your arse and is twisting it, hence the name.

I don't know if men ever get it. I haven't heard my husband complaining of such discomfort, and he would if he did.

ForZippyJadeEagle · 19/09/2024 10:36

If you search, there's been dozens of threads about this over the years. they come up regularly :)

fatphalange · 18/09/2024 20:09

No, my vagina doesn't throb at the sight of blood or when witnessing mild to severe peril. Although I'm quite happy about that 😂

Neither does mine, especially at the sight of a (presumably) young girl who’s had an accident while showering…

BenditlikeBridget · 19/09/2024 10:54

I get it in my nipples! Feels like breastmilk letting down. If we’re watching telly and someone hurts themselves DP will quite often ask how my nipples are coping 😂

I get the foot sweats from heights.

My GM used to call that feeling the fanny jingles. I had never associated it with an actual fanny until now!

Justontherightsideofnormal · 19/09/2024 18:01

I know exactly what you are describing……. It’s as if I wrote this post !!

graysquirrel · 19/09/2024 18:11

I get this when my daughter does the splits.
Almost like she's part of me and I feel it.
I've always found it very odd!

WorkerBee123 · 19/09/2024 18:33

Yes!! I call it ‘pants feeling’ which I got from greys anatomy when they were describing this exact thing.

AllGoodNamesRGone · 19/09/2024 18:46

JustFoldInTheCheeseDavid · 18/09/2024 19:37

Fanny gallops... I get then when I am high up and look down

🤣😂🤣

restingbitchface30 · 19/09/2024 18:48

Yep but mine goes right down my legs too. Usually brought on my seeing a mangled dead animal in the street, my partner talking about a nail going through his foot etc. When my son was young he would describe it as his bumhole tingling. He’s now 17 and if he gets the ick I ask if his bumhole is tingling!

CheeryUser · 19/09/2024 18:48

It’s a self protection thing, you’re hiding/closing your vulnerable places. Grin

NewUser1111 · 18/09/2024 20:13

Omg I don’t recognise this feeling at all but am loving all the language! Fanny gallops, javelin arse, the mind boggles

Same here 😂

ThisNoisyTealLurker · 19/09/2024 18:55

I wondered if other people had this, I get a cold tummy flip feeling when I see gory or icky things.

Judgedontbudge · 19/09/2024 20:03

This.
Animals defecate for fight or flight. Probs something deep rooted caveman like- sorry cave-person like.

PinotDragon · 19/09/2024 20:46

A womb boom. Like an internal cringe that is felt below the stomach. I reckon if the ick feeling was pure fear instead that is what would cause you to piss yourself.

trussedchicken · 19/09/2024 20:50

YES!!! I've googled it before but couldn't find anything. It happens to me when I'm high up and look down. I'm not scared of heights either. I find it bizarre. I am so glad it's not just me. And it felt like a question I couldn't ask people in real life 😂

Overtheatlantic · 19/09/2024 20:51

Fanjo? Why???
