Did you know who Cat Deeley was before she joined This Morning?

When Cat Deeley became presenter of This Morning earlier this year I had not heard of her before, some of my friends are surprised that I did not know who she was. (We are all in our 40's by the way) I knew who Holly Willoughby was though.

Am I weird in never having heard of her before?

Paddy Kielty is definitely not ugly - but a really intelligent, sensitive man (not easy when your father was murdered). He's hilarious doing stand up - I saw him once years ago and he was amazing. He's been able to make jokes about things that should be impossible. He's a nice, unassuming person. And currently has the biggest job in Irish broadcasting.

I had to Google Patrick Kielty just to check that either a) I wasn’t thinking of completely the wrong person or b ) he hadn’t had a face transplant. He’s not ugly, he’s a decently attractive pleasant looking man! He looks like he’d be kind as well as funny.

I know of Cat from SMTV, which I would have been 10-12 when watching. I knew vaguely that she’d done other Saturday night TV sort of stuff later in her career, but I didn’t know that she’d been in a lot of the shows other posters have mentioned - so I suppose if you were too old for SMTV at the time and aren’t much of a casual TV watcher, you might not have caught her.

I enjoyed the story of how she and Paddy got together as well. I've always liked them enormously as a couple. I seem to remember that they had a tough experience in the US involving a lockdown which predicated their return to the UK.

Wasn't she on live and kicking or something on Saturday morning tv? I'd have been a teen/tween then I think? Early 40s now.

Used to watch SMTV with our daughter!

They came back to the UK because Patrick and one of their boys were in a mall when there was a shooting and they had to hide... 😔 😔 😔

She was everywhere back in the day. I’m the same age as you and I remember her from lots of presenting roles.

I agree he’s not ugly - and he might be different now but early in his stand up career he did use his dad being murdered as part of his stand up routine.

What on earth would make you think that marriages/partnerships are based mainly on what people look like? There are so many factors involved in people being attractive to others and choosing to form relationships.

Her and Patrick also presented the original Celebrity Love Island back in the day! Although "celebrity" was pushing it for most of the contestants 😂
