Will Huw get a worse/lighter sentencing today because of his fame?

It's not that I think that it's that there seems to be something off. He has pled guilty while maintaining he was not interested in obtaining these illegal images and can't remember it happening, and he has apologised- this isn't something you can just apologise for and anyone will want to hear it

If its an issue that jails are over crowded and he can't be kept safe due to being well known he could be kept under house arrest with limited visitors, no access to computers and be given some community service that is very strictly supervised. Maybe a nicer environment than he deserves but it would be better than the laughable sentence he got.

I don't mean to sound harsh, but if I was in his situation I would be considering killing myself too, he's totally trashed his reputation and his life, what a fool.

Maybe I am naiive, but he is saying they were in with other pics and he asked not to be sent those after receiving them. He has commented on a photo that no one knows the age of the person or if they are even a minor. I'm not an apologist and I don't think men should be looking at teenagers period. I think what is important, is that while he has pled guilty he is not well mentally he is staying at a hospital I am just saying I don't know what to make of this case

Not that it makes any difference. One doesn’t develop a proclivity for viewing naked under age boys because they are depressed.

The pictures of boys HE was looking at, enjoying and encouraging the sending of were ages between 14 and 16 years. Some were younger but apparently he didn’t want anything ‘illegal’ whilst failing to either report the paediphile he was conversing with for having these child sex abuse photos or realising that the older teens he was looking at and enjoying were also illegal images.

This man is complicit in the sexual abuse of minors. There’s nothing more to it. He received and enjoyed photos of teenage boys with their genitals out. Boys who were almost certainly victims of grooming. Even if he didn’t get a kick out of the little boys, he did nothing about the images of sexual abuse he’d received.

I simply cannot believe you’re even entertaining condoning this.

When I met him at a Christmas event during Covid he was hugely charming, He has pleaded guilty, however, to being a paedophile. Stop feeling sorry for him.

But he wasn’t staying in a hospital when he was looking at the photos. If anyone gets sent these photos they are technically able to be convicted of this crime (even without asking for them). Need to report it as soon as you get an image

All of them. It's par for the course.

Having experience of a well known private mental health hospital, yes they can be quite plush. Certainly very little ‘hospital-y’ about them.

It's being circulated on twitter and it's from July 2023 - no evidence that he's in hospital now
