Has anyone else got the email being invited to the ballot for the new dates?

For the people who didn't get an email despite queuing and being signed in to their ticketmaster account last week. Did you get to the stage where you got onto the site and selected the date and venue? It seems that if you were in the queue waiting to get on to ticket master then this wouldn't count. So unfair that not everyone has been emailed.

No. I was in the queue for a venue on a specific date. Having previously been chucked out due to heavy traffic I assume on the move from waiting room to queues. Husband was also in a specific queue. Neither of us have had emails. It hasn't worked how they said it would.

But not everybody that 'qualifies' for the ballot has been given the opportunity which is utterly bizarre. Seems like there's a ballot for the ballot.

Hence why I said online ticketing is far from perfect and that a ballot in the first instance was likely the better idea.

I don’t think it’s bizarre that not everyone has received an invite – logging onto ticketmaster and joining a queue was never intended to be the system’s method in gathering contact contact data for a ballot registration, so it’s not surprising that not everyone’s data has been managed to be collected.

It’s not a ballot for a ballot. It’s a ballot to receive a code which will allow you enter the next wave of ticket purchasing, which will be conducted in the same way as the main sale – first come, first served.

It's not good. Don't know if it will help but this email address from mailonline is aking to hear from people in your position.

I've got the confirmation email so 🤞 Here we go again.

The ballot for the ballot is whether you actually got the email or not.

I did but I won’t be entering as I wanted to see them at a location much closer to home, and I can’t justify the additional costs associated with travelling - I might as well have bought the overpriced tickets that were offered when I finally got onto the ticketmaster website after 5hrs or more of queuing!

Did you queue in for Wembley or location closer to hone last week? Asking because I was in queue for another location but I would love to go see them in Wembley but haven't got any email.
Wondering if they only emailed those were were in queue for Wembley last week. But they said added concerts are for UK fans, so it shouldn't maje a difference you were trying to get Manchester or Wembley.

Won't be contacting the Mail, but thanks for thinking of me. I just want to go back in time and tell my husband that I won't be queuing for the tickets (didn't do it in the 90s, but caved as he wants to go with his unwell cousin).

Cattery · 08/09/2024 12:36

Got the email and the confirmation email

Morph22010 · 08/09/2024 12:36

Daisydaisydaizee · 08/09/2024 12:13

Thank you @Morph22010 . I didnt get the ballot email. I was in queue for 7 hours, not sure why I did not ger it.

Which queue were you in? I was in the first queue for about seven hours, then when I got to the front of that it took me to tickermaster website and I then had to pick the date I wanted and then entered a second queue. It’s only if you were in this second queue Ticketmaster would have definitely known who you were as weren’t required to log in for first queue

Mum2Fergus · 08/09/2024 12:37

I did.

But that second queue isn't enough to get you potential access to the ballot! Lots of people were logged in and in the specific date queue but have not had any email at all. It has failed.

Ah I see 🤣 maybe true. I don’t know how they are collecting date, determining who is eligible or if all data was collectible in the first place.

Given we were all logged in to Ticketmaster and in their queues, they have all the data.

mrshoho · 08/09/2024 12:40

I'm kind of thinking even if and that's a very big IF I am successful and get tickets for September, after 2 months touring together Liam and Noel will have had a big bust up and call it off! Actually there's a lot could happen between now and July so who knows...

I queued for Heaton Park but got an email today so I don't think your original choice of location matters.

Potentially, but given the multiple failures in their servers throughout the day, it’s plausible that those failures have led to incomplete, missing or or unstored data.

RedToothBrush · 08/09/2024 12:49

DontBiteTheCat · 08/09/2024 09:54

Got the email, just waiting for the confirmation to come through.

Disappointed it’s only 2 tickets per person. The whole thing has left a sour taste in my mouth, I wasted a full day last Saturday getting to the front of the queue and then being kicked out, then selecting tickets and being kicked out on repeat. Feels like I’m now back in the queue to join the queue 🙄.

If my son wasn’t so desperate to go I wouldn’t bother.

Edited

The Queue for the Pre-queue to Queue for tickets you might not get.

There's no word on prices at all yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if the bottom prices are higher but theres no dynamic pricing.

The ballot last time limited site traffic which I think triggers dynamic pricing. So if dynamic pricing is triggered by huge numbers trying to get tickets and they've effectively limited number in this way, this MIGHT mean that they've backed away from doing it again but there's no way they will publically admit this.

It will be interesting to see, especially since there's now multiple investigations into whether fans were sold tickets in an unfair way contrary to the law.

Would you want to to put yourself in a position where if there is a problem, you are opening yourself up to a greater liability if those investigations go against you?

(Meanwhile, yay another thread on Oasis to wind everyone up half of MN!).

They did say that not everyone would get a ballot email, it was the luck of the draw. It said that if you were logged in and in a queue for a date but didn’t purchase tickets then you may get an email inviting you to the ballot.

It is a shit system though I agree.

Just seems odd. Why not invite everyone into the ballot. It is a ballot. London Marathon has one with loads of people trying to get in every year.

Ticketmaster had multiple outages. These most effected people in Glasgow/Edinburgh, Manchester and London.

It would be interesting to see whether those who didn't get an email are more likely to be in these locations.

I was in the queue for Manchester and I had the email and received confirmation (about 2 and a half hours later).

I read this too.

At the end of the day, there aren’t enough tickets for everyone who wants to go. There will have been disappointed people and people who claim unfairness no matter what the system. The simplest systems will likely be the most unfair, the most fair will likely be the most complicated.

Tangled123 · 08/09/2024 12:58

@KnobZombie7 I agree. I got an invitation and I initially queued for Dublin. I waited for the waiting room to refresh as instructed but there were 450k in the queue in front of me by the time it did. I didn’t queue for very long before giving up.

Yeah, I got an email.

I got chucked out of the original queue after hours of waiting because it said I was a suspected bot 😭
