To wonder (thinking about this awful French rape case) if humans are just rotten

1000 replies

OptimismvsRealism · 05/09/2024 15:04

It wasn't just the husband - at least 80 men went along with this. Guys with ordinary lives drawn out of nowhere.

I wonder if it would be better if we were to just wind things up as a species.

You're going to need to stop using acronyms and stop being hypocritical, act like a decent human being instead of dodging logic.

You have no logic or decency. We can all read your posts pet. HTH

Who are you to tell me what event in my life was more traumatising? If I found systematic bullying over a long period of time the most traumatising thing in my life, who are you to argue that it wasn't

You said bullying was more traumatising than rape.

That bullying affected you more than rape

That rape help centres shouldn't be funded

No-one is arguing that you found bullying worse, you've said it enough times. What people are questioning you over is this

At no point did I ever say 'bullying is worse than rape'. Don't be so simple-minded

If something is more traumatic, does that not make it worse?

Right, ok then, so general consensus seems to be that all men, or most, are monsters. What shall we do then? Kill them all?

You all seem to hate men but offer no reasonable solutions? And when those of us who come along and say, you know what, most men are decent, my husband's a good man, my father's a good man, my sons are decent, we teach them to be good, respectful, honest, kind...
... we're shouted down and treated as if we're naive and traitors to women. What do you actually want? Down with men?!

Edited

Of course not but it would be a start to be able to have an honest conversation about the scale of the issue, the root causes and worrying trends, without derailing the discussion by comparing to the minority of depraved women.

I’m so disappointed about the pages of discussion on here about whether women can be convicted of rape. On a thread about one woman being raped by over 70 men. It’s disturbing how we can’t even have the conversation without it being derailed by irrelevance.

Are we being infiltrated by incels? I feel genuinely sad that this thread has led to women arguing amongst themselves about the level of blame women should be taking for violence against women, when the facts speak for themselves. I mean, Wtaf?!

Oh right, you've read the yougov website. You are an expert.
I was on the defence team of a woman charged with rape in the 1990s. She pleaded guilty and went to prison.
Or perhaps I am just making it up for a laugh.
Read the rest of the thread to make up the rest of your law degree. Not answering any more questions about this.

I asked you a perfectly reasonable question you sarcastic cow.

Such an amazing woman to make it public - now that gives hope for the human race. Incredible of her to have done that shows so much strength.

I'm just going to throw in that it's also France that is next-level rotten, when it comes to misogyny and SVAW. Just a couple of years ago a there was another horrific crime. A group of 20 firefighters who admitted using a 13 year old girl for sex, were acquitted. "France’s highest court has ruled that firefighters accused of raping a girl when she was aged between 13 and 15 should be charged with the lesser offence of sexual assault.

A woman known as Julie claims she was raped over a period of two years after being groomed by a firefighter in 2008, when she was a girl aged 13, and that he later introduced her to his colleagues. Three accused men have admitted having sex with her but say it was consensual. Seventeen others have not been charged." www.theguardian.com/world/2021/mar/18/firefighters-should-not-face-charge-raping-girl-french-court-rules

@sunnydays1364 it's the last paragraph which is most terrifying. When it's men that were seen as decent members of society.

I always think about the men living under the Taliban and how many of them think this is truly awful for our wives and daughters.

Not all men but ALWAYS a man

It's not always men though. It's.mainly men statistically but sometimes women do awful things too. I don't think making untrue and inaccurate statements like this is at all helpful. Stick to the facts and your message is much more likely not to be dismissed.

I did not, at any point, say bullying was worse than rape, in general terms. I've asked several times for someone to quote me on that, and no one has.

What I consider the worst event in my life, personally, is entirely up to me and no one has a right to tell me I'm wrong on that.

I think because the mum's are usually the primary caregivers, the spotlight will fall on them. That isn't always fair of course! My own mind falls to that default and I am always open to challenge on that.

In my own personal experience I see a mother that has enabled alot of poor male behaviour ( sibling) and zero accountability or challenge to very bad behaviour. No father around. This possibly informs my view.

"No father around" - and yet you don't apportion any blame to the absent father?

Your logic is calling everyone a rape apologist when they don't agree with your ill world views of committing mass genocide.

😂😂😂😂😂😂 you've jumped the shark dude.

Male? Is it also trolling to point out that your views are batshit insane, males do commit the most crimes in that category, I agree with facts however saying that all men should be killed is something only an ill person would agree with, just say you're a femcel and get over trying to justify mass murder, I agree that rapists should imprisoned or even killed but ALL men including the ones that serve and protect is just crazy, you are off your rocker.

And the mask slips...

Pantaloons99 · 06/09/2024 01:01

@AngelicKaty in my case of no father around it was through death unfortunately.

But I absolutely can go to the default of looking at the mum in these rotten cases and I just want to throttle them for their enabling. I'm thinking of a case where a young boy killed his girlfriend and the mother covered up for him. You can see how the mother son dynamic led to the creation of this horror. The dad was just a useless spare part and didn't hand his son in. I question why I feel most upset towards the mum in this case. 🤷‍♀️ I think alot of us do this. ( Thinking).

Pantaloons99 · 06/09/2024 01:03

I don't think anyone here wants men removed from existence/ male genocide

GargoylesofBeelzebub · 06/09/2024 01:04

look at the entire thread calling for it and you haven't even called them out for trying to justify murder.

Are we reading different threads pet? 🤔
