To wonder (thinking about this awful French rape case) if humans are just rotten

OptimismvsRealism · 05/09/2024 15:04

It wasn't just the husband - at least 80 men went along with this. Guys with ordinary lives drawn out of nowhere.

I wonder if it would be better if we were to just wind things up as a species.

Something in most men’s nature isn’t right, they are like a subhuman species especially when having their sexual needs and desires met comes into play.

^

Agree with this. It's like a child with sugar. So infantile.

Iateallthechocolate · 05/09/2024 18:03

Why are men so shit? OK not all men, but way too many ugh.

coxesorangepippin · 05/09/2024 18:03

I mean, these guys were men but women have committed plenty of atrocities too

^

They have

But nowhere near as much as men

KateMiskin · 05/09/2024 18:03

YellowphantGrey · 05/09/2024 18:02

So start a thread of outrage about the horrific crimes against men committed by women?

This was a male attack, stop pretending otherwise.

Would be pretty short and wouldn't have a flood of men coming on to say how nice their wives are.

YellowphantGrey · 05/09/2024 18:03

malificent7 · 05/09/2024 17:53

Lucy Lethby ( aledgedly)
Myra Hindley
Maxime Carr etc
......not always men.

Violent crimes against women? Always men.

coxesorangepippin · 05/09/2024 18:05

Myra Hindley

^

Who closely accompanied Ian Brady

Not sure she was the instigator

But that's besides the point.

Myra, Maxine Carr Rose West etc are few and far between.

Men are not.

Oh come on.
Women have committed atrocities on this scale?
Which atrocities, and when?

"and meant kindly, who the fuck do you lot think you are telling people like me we are not allowed to discuss our experiences on a thread like this"

Ah yes, the "be kind" movement.

When it ends up with the same 3 female horrors being trotted out because, of course, everyone knows their name, the reason being they are so rare, it is insulting.

This case is horrific, and one that would never be committed by women.

completely out of context and that’s not what I was saying at all.

I’m not saying be kind, I’m saying there are actually female perpetrators (far more than us generally recognised I believe) and generally it goes under the radar. Not as many as men, but it isn’t always perpetrated by men and it’s fucking tiresome offensive to be constantly no-crimed and told to shut up about it by other women who like to pretend it doesn’t happen.

Actually don’t bother, I am sick of the minimising of male violence by NAMALT and the handful of women who can be cited here.

But the other two? Did they work alone? Or where they working with men?

Shock horror. Men. Again.

There’s a lovely lady who poisoned her stepson with salt recently, do you remember that one? The last thing he said was, no one is coming to help me.

he was right, of course, not only did no one come to help him, according to many people on this thread, it didn’t even happen

WheresMySupportCat · 05/09/2024 18:10

That case was also done in consort with the actual father of the child.

Over40Overdating · 05/09/2024 18:10

Maxine Carr was guilty of perverting the course of justice / covering for a murderer. The perpetrator of violence was Ian Huntley.

The scale of abuse by women is not comparable on any level but because a minuscule amount of women proportionate to men are also violent or commit sexual offences, we should just let men off?

So unless women are perfect men can be excused for raping and killing us.

No wonder they laugh at us. No matter the evil a man commits, somewhere nearby a woman is pointing a finger at his victim instead.

wherethewaterisdarker · 05/09/2024 18:10

MintyNew · 05/09/2024 18:12

This case is horrific. That poor woman and her daughter. He needs to rot in hell.

You are right. But what about the lesbian boxer who punched the toddler to death… There was a whole spate of them around one time I remember. So harrowing I can’t bring myself to look at it. The point is it’s not always, a woman being helped by a man, and I’m telling you this as a survivor of female abuse

people
are asking for us just to be accurate in their language, is it really that hard?

Then if you're outraged by the horrific attacks of female on male violence and how many women get away with it a d how poor men are living in fear, ill be over to share my outrage on your post that you will start.

Until then, I will carry on my outrage at yet another male on female attack.

Stop trying to hijack the thread and minimise what has happened by frantically declaring that it's women too. That is not the purpose of this thread.

Lucy Lethby ( aledgedly)
Myra Hindley
Maxime Carr etc
......not always men.

Myra Hindley was named by a pp. That 2 different ppl have written a list of only 3 women and yet only came up with 5 names kind of illustrates the point that women are nowhere near the scale of a problem as men are

The fact that Myra Hindley committed her crimes when a lot of ppl on this thread weren't even alive and yet she's still given as an example twice, illustrates it even more. What she did was evil of course there are evil women out there but they are few and far between.

If I was to make a list of depraved men, I would write a list 20x longer than yours just listing the men in this one case in France....if I was to write a list of male murderers and rapists backwards chronologically , I dont imagine Ian Brady would be in the 1st 300,000 let alone the 1st 3.

Again, who the fuck do you think you are telling me what the purpose of this thread is? It actually started with a question about humans being awful to each other, and has immediately turned into a pile on about men. If anyone has hijacked, it’s not me

CuttySarcasm · 05/09/2024 18:15

We're talking about 3 women on this thread...

Men are responsible for about 90% of all homicides worldwide

1 in 4 women have experienced severe physical violence by an intimate partner at some point in their lives, 1 in 4!!!!

99% of rapists are male, according to a study by the Bureau of Justice Statistics.

An estimated 1 in 5 women will be raped at some point in their lives.

Approximately 91% of the victims of rape and sexual assault are female

Sexual violence is vastly underreported, with only about 25% of rapes reported to the police, meaning the real figures could be significantly higher

Globally, 30% of women who have been in a relationship report having experienced some form of physical or sexual violence by their partner.

More than 38% of all murders of women globally are committed by an intimate male partner, often in situations of domestic violence.

Yes, Men are the problem, and no we're not going to be quiet about it.

Superhansrantowindsor · 05/09/2024 18:15

Can’t believe this thread! What percentage of violent crime against women and girls is committed by women and what percentage by men? I think we all have a rough idea. Part of the reason VAWG is such a problem is people not getting that the root of the problem is men.

KateMiskin · 05/09/2024 18:15

That 2 different ppl have written a list of only 3 women and yet only came up with 5 names kind of illustrates the point that women are nowhere near the scale of a problem as men are.

This. I bet this thread will be 700 posts long by tomorrow and the handmaidens will be clutching to Myra Hindley for dear life.

I will give you Aileen Wuornos to be generous.

BeBraveLittlePenguin · 05/09/2024 18:16

EmilyGilmoreCardiganEnergy · 05/09/2024 16:00

I suppose you could argue that these male perpetrators have been (we can assume) raised by mothers / women and in a society that includes women so maybe as women we can take some small responsibility for being a part of their attitude and abhorrent mindset towards their victims and women in general.
It does come down to individual choices but we all have a part to play in shaping the world we live in / want to live in.

But why would we want to argue that?

KurtShirty · 05/09/2024 18:09

So we should use this one example as a reason to defend all men and excuse the rapists, the murders and the abusers because women are just as evil?
