What a fascinating thread! Disney!
I'm old. 60+. Disney was 'The wonderful world of', Saturday afternoon, primary school age. A few trips to the cinema.
I am frankly stunned at the number of people a bit younger than me who are Disney mad. Cruises, branded clothing, overseas trips arranged around Disney theme parks.
I've, at 23, been to Disney World & Land. Both excellently done. As is Thorpe Park. As is Universal Studios. Six Flags.
But Disney is designed for kids and very young adults.
Like this weird Harry Potter obsession, adults exclusively into Disney (as in not going along for it for the kids) are experiencing arrested development.
It's not for you, if you're over 30. It's infantile resolution of 'all life's problems' is designed for children.
I get 'how does it harm YOU?', but I want to believe my fellow adults have a greater grasp on the nuances, the grey areas of life- than an adult devotion to Disney suggests.
