Feral children

Several children, have been arrested in connection with the death of an 80 year old dog walker.

What is wrong with children today? I remember the Bulger case and it sent shockwaves around the world, now people just accept that children kill.

I think it's bound to cross people's minds. Sorry if it sounded like a criticism from me.

I suspect the narrative will change to one of the girls being coerced by the boys or were influenced by them or something like that.

Obviously we dont know what actually happened yet.

It sounds as though he had reported issues, probably with these kids, to the police as they've reported themselves. The mother who failed to turn up to her 12 year old's sentencing in Manchester recently shows you what's wrong: lack of parenting.

Beyond horrific, I just can't understand how anyone could be so cruel, evil, brutal. A pack of kids actually killing an innocent older person, just for fun, is incomprehensible. That's our Fathers, our heroes, taking their dog out for a walk! They better get the harshest sentencing and I'm sure a few inmates with beloved parents will be looking forward to showing them how wrong it is. Disgusting.

Of course not. On MN, it's always about male violence and women being victims.

The reality is that young and female crime is on the increase. We really need to focus on violence as a whole, not just male violence on female.

No, you have a good point. These type of feral scumbags have no respect for parents, teachers, the law, anyone. Turn it back on them and they cry victim, after giving a mouthful of course.

So upsetting and scary. I work in education with children with challenging behaviour. We were training today for the year ahead and I thought about how awful things have become in our communities. I have been assaulted regularly at work despite lots of experience and pur school providing lots of positive experiences. We are rarely backed up by parents and carers so it makes it so hard to deliver consistent consequences for unacceptable, abusive and violent behaviour. The council don't like exclusions and expect staff to accept being at risk at work..Also seems like the police very limited in what they can do. Feels hopeless sometimes and I am so sad ckr this man's loved ones.

I despair with what's happening, there is so little respect these days, you can't politely ask someone on a train to move their bag or feet without getting a mouthful. Not all obviously, but a great many youngsters have no fear of the police or teachers or anyone for that matter .
My friend was called into school because her son aged 10 had a knife in his bag , for 'protection'. My friend was horrified.
I don't know what the answer is but I really fear for the future.

Some people aren't born with much of a conscience. It needs to be drummed into them by parents. Some parents don't have a conscience either. Sociopaths raising little sociopaths. It's quite chilling. I'm scared of the kids nowadays. They're full of sass and don't give a shit. Never punished for anything. It's a lethal combination.

Children have been murdering in the UK since the 1950s, it's really nothing new.

I do think we need to start prosecuting parents as well. You are responsible for your kids. So many of them just don't care.

This isn't surprising at all. This is the consequence of a breakdown in traditional values and morality. What did everyone expect?

It's not children today. Things like this have always happened. It's still absolutely atrocious and I hope his family and loved ones are coping as best they can.
