Am I the only person who would rather stick pins in my eyes than go to an Oasis concert?
Durgey, dull, same same music, enormous egos - no thanks I’d rather stay at home and I’m a 90s teenager!

Wouldn't you technically have to stick pins in your ears if you didn't like them? So you couldn't hear them? Why your eyes @ArmchairOlympian ???

I'll get me coat.........

Not you again.

YearsWentByFast · 31/08/2024 22:53

I'll get me coat

Do you mean your parka...😂

I'll get mine too.

IMO most of the hype has been engineered.
People having to enter a ballot, stories emerging after the pre sale how in demand the tickets are so that people feel compelled to log on and spend hours in the queue only to be chucked out at the checkout.

Prior to this oasis had never done more than arenas, and now they’re selling out stadiums?
While I do see that people want to see them, I do also think that a lot of people have bought tickets in case there’s drama, and a huge amount don’t even think the gigs will happen.

Bonjovispjs · 31/08/2024 22:56

I love Mika, just saying 🤣

ArmchairOlympian · 31/08/2024 23:00

Eyes and ears I suppose. Either would be preferable.

It’s funny how the cool girls don’t like to be called out for it. If you’re cool own it ladies.

HNRTFT but OP why have you added to your sadness by starting a thread about a band you are not interested in ? I personally couldn’t get why people were crying over getting tickets for Taylor Swift..I didn’t feel motivated to start a thread about it ..just accept that people have different expectations.

SemperIdem · 31/08/2024 23:02

I’m not sure what is more boring at this point, the people posting threads like this about how much they hate Oasis or the people absolutely losing their minds over not managing to buy tickets.

Or those complaining about both?

I got loads of sex in the 90s. Sorry to hear you had a dry spell.

SemperIdem · 31/08/2024 23:04

More of an observation than a complaint on my part. I’ll leave you to your tedious misery 😉

Why are you going on about 'cool girls' and being 'called out' exactly?

I think I am quite cool, but that’s not what this is about - my point was neutral on the merits or otherwise of Oasis. I would take issue with anyone starting a thread just to say they hate something, whether or not they were objecting to a thing I like personally. It’s the principle not the specifics that prompted me to post.

So only Oasis fans have sex - that’s where I’ve been going wrong all these years.

I can't stand the Gallagher's and if their gigs are anything like they used to be it'll be full of coked up louts, although no doubt the 300 pound a ticket to line their pockets will dilute the crowd somewhat. At least the gigs back then were authentic, the reunion show will just be a sea of camera phones - you can't recreate the 90s again.

I do like some of their music but the Morning Glory album has been played to death. I can't stand hearing Don't Look Back in Anger or Wonderwall anymore.

alibongo5 · 31/08/2024 23:09

There are lots of bands I don't like. But I'd still rather listen to them than stick pins in my eyes as I think that would really really hurt.
Not sure if that makes me a cool girl. Probably not.

I've read the thread.
I don't see what you're suggesting.

I agree. It seems strange to me to post just to say you hate something, especially as harmless as music. I guess there's something behind the need to do it, not sure what though.

Attention seeking?
Boredom?
Frustration?
Unresolved issues?

YearsWentByFast · 31/08/2024 23:13

I don't understand all the cool girl stuff from OP either. Generally those that are cool girls are those trying to prove they're so different, like OP. 🤪
