How often do they contact you?

If they go away for a few days to a week or so, how often do they text/call? Especially if you have dcs?

Same as when we're not working away - we message if we see something interesting/funny the other person might like (a cute dog, left-wing graffiti) or if we want to make the other one jealous of a slap-up meal, and only if we have the time and energy for it. Or if there's logistical info we need to communicate. So the above can mean anything from multiple times per day, to once a week. We don't do daily check-ins because we're both adults who don't need to be checked on. I've never seen the point of a "good morning" or "good night" text with nothing else attached. And obviously if either of us are working away the likelihood is that the one who's away is busy, shattered or both.

I often don’t know what hotel DH is staying in, what flight he’s on etc!
As I said earlier, when children were small contact was every day but now we’re empty nesters I might hear from him once or twice in the week.
We’re quite relaxed about it.

DH never works away but I'm often away with work for 2-3 weeks a year.

We never ring each other unless it's an emergency, but we'd text on/off all day and always make sure to say goodnight. Some days we could text 50 times, others it could be 5, it really just depends.

They're just nonsense chit-chat though, normally about the animals or just random things. If one of us couldn't text for whatever reason, it wouldn't matter.

We tend to keep in touch more when we’re traveling for work tbh. When I’m visiting my Dad, he doesn’t want me on my phone too much!
