Laundry.
It never fucking ends. It's just the sheer volume of it and the dread at putting it all away once dry.
The thing I'm most looking forward to about one day living on my own, is having only one lot of washing to do.
What about you?

My large grassy area. I can literally see it growing. I’m sick of mowing it.

Grass is fucking annoying. If not for my kids and dog, I'd happily live without a garden.

The man who rides his excessively noisy motorbike into the car park at work and sits revving it for about 30 seconds. When he arrives and when he leaves.

Totally irrational hatred of this individual and the noise his bike makes...it makes NO difference to my life whatsoever. But I need to eradicate him/it.

Raree · 07/08/2024 12:49

Other people, more specifically neighbours as per pp lol. Fucking stinking weed smoking twats, plus screamy shouty football kicking bastards, 😁

Just thought of something else.
I would love to get rid of my ADHD but actually because I have wasted my life battling something I didn’t know I had and even when medicated it still doesn’t quieten my brain enough to do much and even if I had a quiet brain it won’t make up for all the time wasted

I would like to get rid of aging. If I could just have eternal youth I would keep my ADHD and all the other stuff that comes with it

The cat , my dh found her as a kitten with cat flu , sick of the shit smell , the puke and I want my laundry room back. She's blind, can't go out. 10 years on. Utterly fed up with it. Never liked cats but I am lumbered.

Easy: exH x 2 and GAD. Anxiety just baffles me - I'm not shy in the slightest bit for most of my adult life, I'm plagued with too much cortisol and adrenaline. But

haplessharpy · 07/08/2024 22:03

It's laundry for me too. I feel like fucking Widow Twanky. Seven of us in this household. Two adults, two teenagers, a primary school child and two babies.
Laundry seems to be all I ever do and I'm sick to death of it. I strip and change a bed and someone pisses in it within an hour. 😠

Money.
Imagine a world where you could go to a supplier and get the food and clothes you needed with no payment, where everyone had a free house, but no-one could have "investments", no one was poor, no one was rich, no one had to worry about bills or plan for retirement.
A life where money just didn't exist.

Sounds grim to be honest. What motivation would there be for anyone to strive? Who would bother training to be a doctor or even go to university? I think they call it a meritocracy.

Femme2804 · 07/08/2024 22:30

My MIL who live with us in our home. I’ll be much happier if she isn’t there

Intrinsic motivation. The love of learning. The satisfaction of a job well done and the impulse to serve others.

Cooking. Between trying to make sure we eat healthily and 2 fussy kids who like different foods to each other I dread the nightly faff of trying to make something everyone will eat!

They will eat whatever you put on the table if they are truly hungry. Teach them about choices "THIS food or nothing...what will it be tonight?". You are the cook you get to decide, not them.

Intrinsic motivation only goes so far. The love of learning is inate for many, not so much for others. A job well done is satisfying - obviously much more to some than others as evidenced by poor quality of so much these days. Utopian dreams are just that: dreams about things that never will exist.

Ignorant people who don't want to know truth.

Patriarchy. Imagine how much easier and better life would be for everyone if women were invariably seen as equals to men.

Be careful what you wish for. Men and women are not equal because they are genetically engineered to be different. Men are more powerful than women in some ways and women are more powerful then men in some ways. One does not have to be a bitch to be equal to men and as a matter of fact it is my belief women are superior to men. We should not let them know that by being bitches, no one likes superiority thrown in their faces.

This whole thread is about impossible dreams! 😂

It does come to an end. But in the mean time delegate and do just your laundry and that of two babies. Everyone else can learn to do their own and should.

So speaks someone who’s never dealt with a child with ARFID. They can, will and do starve if they don’t get their safe foods.

And when your child (or you, if you're the child) ends up hospitalised due to not eating or drinking...?

Don’t you want more than what everyone else has. Ambition to give your children more than you had
What would be the point

I think that despite everyone being able to get what they needed
Certain people would still get ahead because they would choose better things

potatocrates · 08/08/2024 02:01

Eating. Life would be so much better if we could occasionally eat for pleasure rather than having to eat in order to survive several times a day.
