Laundry.
It never fucking ends. It's just the sheer volume of it and the dread at putting it all away once dry.
The thing I'm most looking forward to about one day living on my own, is having only one lot of washing to do.
What about you?

Plantar fasciitis...I've had it for five years and have had many hours (at huge expense) of physio and other treatment, to no avail! It's making my life an utter misery and affecting my ability to work (primary teacher...on my feet literally all day with no chance of sitting at any point!)

I've spent hundreds of pounds on special shoe inserts (don't work for me), and a dizzying array of footwear that 'should' alleviate the issue, but haven't.

I would love a 'magic wand moment' to take this condition away for good 😢

Oh, I do sympathise, it's awful but to have had it for 5 years is beyond awful. When I've had it it has only lasted for a couple of weeks and I've been so miserable with it. I do hope you get some solution soon.

My job...i hate it and dreading going back in September (not a teacher btw).

GoofyGoldie · 06/08/2024 09:32

My cancer.

Time40 · 06/08/2024 10:13

@ScrambledSmegs Oh my god - killing clothes moths with ... another living creature! Gosh. That is truly weird. OK, I have read their site, and I'm giving it some thought. Thank you very much for the idea and info.

SmileLady · 06/08/2024 10:15

After reading all these there are loads more.

Working
Been doing my job ful time now for 26 years and I still have 20 left till state retirements age.

My nieces dad (I have legal custody of her). Everytime he gets a new GF
Without fail I am send very well written messages about how I am keeping his daughter from him. He's meant to have her every weekend overnight
He never has.

Housework. I hate it. But do it. But I still hate it.

Procrastination. I have ADHD. When friends talk about procrastinating badly for an hour, I could weep. I can procrastinate for twenty years, no exaggeration. Procrastinating for only half a day is a happy miracle. Usually it's somewhere between four days and twenty years.

It's like a metal grille comes down between me and the thing I intend to do. I hate it. It has made me such an underachiever. I have learned to live with it and cope with it and have tiny hacks to stop it from making me completely dysfunctional, But I really could cry at what I would be capable of achieving if this weird mental block was lifted.

My sympathy. I had it for two years. It was agony. No amount if painkillers, gels, ice would ever alleviate the pain. I got a stick to walk with at one point.

For me losing a stone in weight really helped. So did some footwear - Fitflop boots, Skechers trainers and some very cheap Amazon flipflops called Surf which have tiny massage dots on them. They worked like magic - nothing cured the pain more quickly, If it ever comes back I wear them and they lift the pain.

Also who encourages you to massage your foot with a spanner. It is excruciating but it was the only thing that ever helped when I was in agony. I can't find his original video but here's another one he made which I think covers the same thing. He needs a bath but bless him for his wisdom Grin

Oh wow!! Thanks for this… I haven’t heard of Surf shoes but I’ll try anything at this point!

Spanner massage sounds painful but honestly, if it works I’ll give it a go! Great video 😄

The genetic disorder I have. It killed my Mum at an unfair age and hopefully won't do the same to me. However, it causes diabetes, weight gain, heart problems... Without it, I'd be slim, healthy and still have my Mum...

God yes. got a little better now that DC are adults and cook their own stuff, but I still seem to be thinking about groceries etc

phoenixrosehere · 06/08/2024 12:22

Our son’s severe autism.

To not have to be on constant alert, have him strop or meltdown over simple things, attack me or his siblings, to be able to speak to us that we all understand and if he needs help or if someone tries to or does hurt him we know, amongst many other things.

Poppysmom22 · 06/08/2024 12:22

ive tried all the meal plans and stuff to try to get rid of it but it’s no good it’s just never ending

toxic44 · 06/08/2024 12:38

DP's chronic depression and autism. Severe breakdown 1992, never really recovered.

sixtyten · 06/08/2024 13:37

Food as a daily necessity. I find the treadmill of constant meal planning, shopping and cooking so depressing, especially as I'm not very interested in food to begin with - yes a nice special meal is enjoyable, but most days food is just fuel to me.

I often find food logistics annoying at social events too and would often personally prefer to skip it and let other people get on and enjoy. (For context, I have dysphagia so eating in front of other people isn't as straightforward as it would be for most, I often have trouble with food/drink going down the wrong way if I try to eat/drink and talk at the same time, so it's not something I love doing and I'll avoid it where possible. Bit tricky these days though, when every social occasion seems to have to revolve around a meal.)

A perfect world for me would be one where people could still choose to eat what and whenever they fancied eating, but without it being necessary for survival, so sometimes I could just choose not to bother and have a break from it all.

My mortgage

JMSA · 06/08/2024 16:41

I've kind of stopped cooking for my kids. They are 23, 18 and 15.
I've done it for long enough and can't be arsed. They can sort themselves out.

Cooking.
I enjoy it but sometimes (often) I really can’t be arsed, especially if it’s a mega hot day

I agree with this one too. If I could just win the lottery that would be great!

It’s not even like it’s a huge sum (around 4K) but it hangs over me like a black cloud. If somebody could just magic it away that would be great!

My large grassy area. I can literally see it growing. I’m sick of mowing it.
