Farage inciting hate and division - Hos much longer do we have to endure this hideous individual?

1000 replies

Safi7 · 05/08/2024 00:31

So Farage now has a video statement on Twitter claiming that the current rioting is “nothing in comparison to what is to come.”

Anyone else hearing reverberations of Enoch Powell’s ‘rivers of blood’ speech back in the 70s?

He is also, ‘just putting it out there’ that the police and authorities are ‘withholding the truth’ - ie. insinuating that the murderer in the Southport tragedy was actually acting on behalf of a wider terrorist network and this is being hushed.

If this isn’t inciting fear, paranoia, violence and division, I don’t know what is!

I notice he’s gone very quiet about his pathetic accusation that Channel 4 tried to set-up Reform by somehow planting an ‘actor’ to trundle around Clacton spouting racist filth.

No Nigel, you know full well who that campaigner was - and the other Reform campaigners in Clacton caught on camera with their hate speech. These are your people.

I cannot abide this man. The damage he had caused to the U.K. I have been abroad this last month and don’t want to come back. Years and years he’s been provoking hate. He has ruined the country with Brexit - but he always has someone else to blame. I don’t think I’ve ever despised a U.K. politician so much. How much longer do we have to tolerate this?

Keir Starmer is fanning the flames on this one. He needs to listen and put forward a plan to reduce illegal immigration, rather than tell the plebs they'll be locked up.

lollipoprainbow · 05/08/2024 07:39

@IfIHadAHeart have you asked yourself why they are doing this ????

Tootyfilou · 05/08/2024 07:39

Wow! Some nasty racist views on this thread. 😡

See this is why the left won't get on top of this situation, call them all thick and call them brainwashed. Don't try to figure out the actual route, because the left had have already make up their own mind. Well it's late, you reap what you sow, good night.

And this, my friends is how a certain Austrian got power in Germany in the 1930s.

By manipulating sane, rational people to believe he, and only he could solve their problems 'caused' the these 'others'.

Besides which, actually the most abhorrent things that's happened through all this is that the families of those littlest girls have been forgotten. In the shitty behaviour of these people, the focus has shifted from helping and supporting those poor families.

The behaviour of these people is appalling: not just in the sense of the damage caused, but also to think you claim back your own streets by damaging them, to protect children by scaring the living shit out of them is the densest kind of cognitive dissonance.

But why shouldn't he lock up people destroying our country?

Does not work in that order. Deal with riot because that is an emergency to life and limb. Don’t you care about the people affected by this shit show of violence? His duty is to deal with this first.

Nat6999 · 05/08/2024 03:09

Nigel Farage, Lee Anderson, Suella Braverman, GB News all want locking up & taking off air for fuelling the fires of the riots, they are the ones who have caused this. Suella Braverman speaking of swarms & invasions was frankly hate speech, Nigel Farage has been doing the same along with Lee Anderson, I feel sorry for the people of Clacton who didn't vote for him because they will be left without political representation as you can bet he won't be holding surgeries or doing the work he is supposed to do, he is too busy running after Donald Trump, the rest of Clacton who voted for him have got exactly what they deserved.

This is the very fascism that you accuse them of.

That's a slippery slope

Ridiculousme · 05/08/2024 01:06

@MrsTerryPratchett why are people angry? Because a hideous human being murdered 3 girls? Why attack mosques? Or homes for asylum seekers?

Farage is a clever rich man, brainwashing a lot of hardworking but low income people.

This. Why is this the response to the attacks? It just shows that people have been fired up and wanted a violent outlet.

There has been so much rhetoric about "Stop the boats" and all the focus from Conservatives and Farage on the people coming over.

Then they try to break into a hotel.

What would they have done if they had actually got in? Where would they have stopped?

And yes - I would hold those people who have stoked this up - including certain media outlets and certain politicians for the way they have stirred up division/

lollipoprainbow · 05/08/2024 07:36

Kier Starmer is telling the majority of people what they want to hear,

Wrong

Most people in this country are decent, law abiding people.

If you're surrounded by people that don't want to hear that violent, racist thugs will feel the full force of the law, then you might want to look at the company that you're keeping.

But be assured, you are in an absolute minority

Allthehorsesintheworld · 05/08/2024 07:42

Sorry, have to be historically correct.
“Anyone else hearing reverberations of Enoch Powell’s ‘rivers of blood’ speech back in the 70s? “

1968, not 70s.

And yes Farage is odious and should retreat to the cave he emerged from.

MissScarletInTheBallroom · 05/08/2024 07:42

I've heard it said that the day he survived that helicopter crash was a real sliding doors moment for the UK.

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 05/08/2024 07:40

He’s going to treat them with the exact harshness that many young people, disproportionately Black or Asian were treated in the 2011 riots. Sounds fair.

Are the people complaining the racists are going to be punished, defending the young black people out rioting and looting in 2011?

VimtoVimto · 05/08/2024 07:42

Ridiculousme · 05/08/2024 00:49

He is no better than Trump inciting his supporters after he lost the election. Farage WANTS to stir the hatred, the more hatred, the more unrest and division, the more people he has following him. Most worrying was the footage of families and kids joining the marches. Yes there’s lots of EDL and extremists but it feels like a proportion of the general public have been thoroughly radicalised to this horror. Local FB sites have post after post criticising something or other and it’s generally onto ‘the boat people’ within 3 replies.

On our local FB page there is no distinction between ‘boat people’, legal immigrants, or asylum seekers.

IfIHadAHeart · 05/08/2024 07:42

lollipoprainbow · 05/08/2024 07:39

@IfIHadAHeart have you asked yourself why they are doing this ????

There is no legitimate reason or justification for this.

By all means protest. Do it peacefully. March without violence/criminal damage/arson. Write to your MP. Organise a sit-in. Etc etc etc. Draw attention to your concerns in a way that doesn’t put other people’s lives, livelihoods and property at risk.

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 05/08/2024 07:43

@Deardeidree yes, pretty much.

They think they should be allowed to get away with it.

Unfortunately, my mother watches the shower of shit that is GB News.

It does mean I've been treated to seeing them back pedalling spectacularly over the weekend as they realise they could get in some serious trouble for what they've been saying!

Zonder · 05/08/2024 07:43

BeethovenNinth · 05/08/2024 06:48

Yes there is no excuse for the violence and riots.

but the debate is being shut down. Even the police commissioner that said we need to address the root cause has been forced to back down.

it is not “far right” nor racist to need a robust discussion on unfettered immigration from countries with a different culture to ours.

What in particular is the debate that has been shut down? Can you spell it out here?

It can't be unfettered immigration since we don't have that and we know the government are working on immigration.

LBFseBrom · 05/08/2024 07:44

MrsBennetsPoorNerves · 05/08/2024 00:35

Honestly, if his actions are still within the law, the law needs to be changed. He is a very dangerous man and we should not allow him to escape accountability for his actions.

I agree. He is more dangerous because he comes across as engaging and reasonable, doesn't appear to lose his cool. If you look at pictures of Enoch Powell, he had the steely-eyed, tight lipped appearance of a fanatic and his speeches were rabble-rousing. I remember him well and he definitely gave me the creeps whereas, much as I despise his politics, Farage doesn't.

Actually round here most aren't sitting lounging around. They're working as volunteers in places like the food bank. They pay for the bus to get there, out of their £9 a week.

They're wanting to work but aren't allowed to, so this is what they can do. That's their choice that they asked to do.

And if you saw the eyes in some of the small children, you'd know they've come from trauma bigger than most people in this country can imagine.

Yeah. You reckon that is the public line which had become acceptable under the Conservatives. I reckon the private line is far more basic

BettyBoobles · 05/08/2024 07:46

Totallybannanas · 05/08/2024 02:07

Enoch Powell definitely sprung to my mind 😔. Its very worrying. I agree Keir Starmer has just ignited the flames, even more. People are worried and anxious, about the increasing numbers of immigration. Keir needs to acknowledge and address this, before he can deal with the problem. I don't agree with the violence and thuggery, I absolutely don't and people are certainly taking advantage, to spread hatred and fear and racist views. However, I do understand people's anger and fear, there have been numerous systematic cover ups prioritising political correctness over people's safety for the fear of being seen as racist. There are influxes of males illegally coming into this country claiming asylum, not women or families. Men, some even pretending to be children.

This 100%. I'm not a hater, a protester and not a racist however I can see where the anger at mass, uncontrolled immigration has come from and it must be addressed.

I've heard it said that the day he survived that helicopter crash was a real sliding doors moment for the UK.

This (the events of the week) is all playing in my head like one of those dystopian faux-documentaries that channel 4 & BBC2 used to do so well. Except it's real.

I can easily imagine the crash being pinpointed as a turning point in some future documentary.

orchiddottyback · 05/08/2024 00:49

Actually Farage is talking a lot of sense and condemned the violence, from speaking to literally hundreds of people today whilst filming the only person stoking up any tesions is Kier and his bloody arrogant press conferences. It's been like a red rag to a bull.

The most pathetic prime minister this country has ever seen, he truly is ignorant and blind to what is actually going on and why people are so angry. Sitting in his little ivory tower in his london bubble he really is clueless.

Blame farage all you like but your looking in the wrong place. but then again it's like the blind leading the blind.

Edited

Absolutely spot on

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 05/08/2024 07:47

Immigration is being addressed!

You've just swallowed the Tory and reform lies that it can all be shut down overnight by shooting at the boats. It can't. It'll take time.

Rioting is not the answer.
