Farage inciting hate and division - Hos much longer do we have to endure this hideous individual?

1000 replies

Safi7 · 05/08/2024 00:31

So Farage now has a video statement on Twitter claiming that the current rioting is “nothing in comparison to what is to come.”

Anyone else hearing reverberations of Enoch Powell’s ‘rivers of blood’ speech back in the 70s?

He is also, ‘just putting it out there’ that the police and authorities are ‘withholding the truth’ - ie. insinuating that the murderer in the Southport tragedy was actually acting on behalf of a wider terrorist network and this is being hushed.

If this isn’t inciting fear, paranoia, violence and division, I don’t know what is!

I notice he’s gone very quiet about his pathetic accusation that Channel 4 tried to set-up Reform by somehow planting an ‘actor’ to trundle around Clacton spouting racist filth.

No Nigel, you know full well who that campaigner was - and the other Reform campaigners in Clacton caught on camera with their hate speech. These are your people.

I cannot abide this man. The damage he had caused to the U.K. I have been abroad this last month and don’t want to come back. Years and years he’s been provoking hate. He has ruined the country with Brexit - but he always has someone else to blame. I don’t think I’ve ever despised a U.K. politician so much. How much longer do we have to tolerate this?

Or, you could put your actual name to your nasty racist views.
Or are you really ashamed of yourself?

One thing that has long puzzled me is why racists are so reluctant to identify as racists, its as if deep down they know they are wrong, but somehow can't stop the thoughts from coming out.

spuddy4 · 05/08/2024 09:00

@Timewilltell519 we've got a mix of people staying in hotels around us. Not once did I mention race, you did that.

no sane person wants anyone to “drown”. But I want to disincentivise young males leaving their homes to come here because it’s not working out well for any of us. Not just the Uk, but all over Europe

i would welcome any genuine refugee.

this is not what is happening. And it seems impossible to solve. People are now trashing their own towns to express dissatisfaction which is horrific.

how do we move forward? Because if we don’t listen and act this isn’t going away.

You've clearly brought the propaganda.

Look at the statistics around who is arriving.

Look at the statistics about how many of these are genuine refugees.

Look at what RR said at her last speech. They have promised money to countries with mass migration to help them solve the underlying cause.

But the situation wasn't going to improve overnight.

Problem is rather than actually engage in truth and what's happening people are still buying into and spouting propaganda like "starmer has no plan".

It is important to remember that those they are most likely to harm are those they know - in their families. I fear there has been a wave of domestic violence when the thugs have returned home from the riots.

Agreed, it's like when the football is on. Whether their team wins or loses, their families are at a heightened risk of violence. My feelings are due to a prior experience from being caught on a train carriage with a bunch of them years ago when i was travelling alone.

Notonthestairs · 05/08/2024 09:00

So the message is -

Do as I demand or I'll drag you out of a car and beat you.

Or I'll burn your library. Or Citizens Advice Bureau. Or I'll put your police in hospital.

if you think inciting racial unrest is just a difference of opinion, that would be laughable if it wasn't terrifying.

if you can't see the difference you're either brainwashed or willfully ignorant,

Please define 'inciting racial hatred' and give examples of people on here who have done it.

Reform won 14% of the vote , approx 60% of the Conservative share and nearly half the Labour share. They are not a tiny minority. Most people are worried about the environment and yet reform got twice as many votes as the green party.

😂And 14% of the vote just gets you 5 seats.

The last few days have reminded us all what Reform stand for, many, many people won’t be voting for them:-

  • any minority group
-few women -anybody with a brain -anybody left of far right -anybody anti violence ….
itsgettingweird · 05/08/2024 09:02

Most of these individuals aren't affected by immigration one iota. If every single non British born person disappeared overnight they'd still be violent thugs. They'd just need to find another section of society to blame for all the ills. They'd do far better looking on their own doorstep.

👏👏

@Hummingbird75

Exactly My View

Same reason we have brexit
Same reason we have reform
Same reason we had Boris

The areas/people that are affected by
these issues are
NOT being listened too by main stream
Govt or the press.

By labelling them racist you drive it into secrecy and then right wing groups spring up

The Left are Driving this as much as the right

I don’t know what to think tbh.

But it’s not as simple as saying it’s just far right thugs.

BBC reporter Phillip Norton was live in Bolton, and said there was a ‘peaceful protest’, and a ‘peaceful counter protest’, which was being contained. Then it all kicked off about half one, because 250-300 odd people turned up from the Asian community, ‘charged at the police line’, shouting Allahu Akhbar, shooting fireworks and throwing eggs at the police. He described this as the ‘flash point.’

This is when the horses were brought in, riot gear came out etc

As I said, this was per the BBC.

Tensions are obviously running high, but there is clearly an issue with ‘both sides’ here.

And I’m not defending anyone rioting and attacking police, from either side.
All need to condemned, dealt with and prosecuted.

No, i won't be your conscience for you. If you have read this thread and can't spot those obvious comments, i'm not going to prove anything to you, It will just be a waste of my time and i have other things i can do.

I'm more annoyed by the trivialising of the murders and attempted murders...there are still people in hospital... They have been forgotten.
Two were released but I've not seen anything about the others.
This was a huge incident... Really absolutely brutal and the media are ignoring the injured. Is it deliberately being done to downplay to reduce anger on the streets?

3 little girls stolen from their families forever. The other 5 stable but not able to go home. 2 at home.

There's no theme song for this one or queues for tattoos like after the arena bombing. There's no focus so people are finding their own.

If you have children you will have held them closer this week. And you will worry about their future.

Actually Farage is talking a lot of sense and condemned the violence, from speaking to literally hundreds of people today whilst filming the only person stoking up any tesions is Kier and his bloody arrogant press conferences. It's been like a red rag to a bull.

The most pathetic prime minister this country has ever seen, he truly is ignorant and blind to what is actually going on and why people are so angry. Sitting in his little ivory tower in his london bubble he really is clueless.

Blame farage all you like but your looking in the wrong place. but then again it's like the blind leading the blind.

Edited

Please can explain why these people are rioting and attacking innocent people and can you justify their actions? I came from an extremely poor background, lived on a huge council estate, and had awful jobs to start with and I have friends who still live in tough areas with little money. None of my friends would have done what those thugs did yesterday but of course we knew people in our communities who would, and they were violent unpleasant, money grabbing people who thought they deserved better than everyone else and you steered clear for your own safety. I hope they get jail, just a shame Farage and others who incite them won't.

Startingagainandagain · 05/08/2024 09:04

Agreed OP.

Also the media that has given the likes of Farage constant platforming has made his racist supporters bolder.

Anyone with a genuine concern can express it with peaceful protest. What we are seeing is not protest. It is racist, fascist thugs committing mindless acts of looting and violence.

Trying to set a hotel on fire because it housed asylum seekers and blocking the exits is racially-motivated attempted murder.

Not to mention the nazi salutes and tattoos that so many of these thugs seem to enjoy. It is clear who these people are....

Many of us have been calling out Farage for the nasty, racist and xenophobic, privileged conman that he is for years. But the media and right wing Tories thought it was OK to court him.

The riots are the result of trying to pretend that Farage's constant hate speech and immigrant scapegoating do not have dire consequences on the fabric of our society.

The fact that Farage and his Reform cronies or people like Braverman are not openly condemning the violence tells you everything you need to know about their agenda.

Agreed. If these 'patriots' care so much for their country, why are they diverting police time and resource from investigations to get to the root cause of an appalling crime?

I'm really happy the P.M. managed to find time yesterday to tell us that he had once been Director of Public Prosecutions. He really should have mentioned it before. I wonder what his father did?

QuizzlyBear · 05/08/2024 09:06

The only good that might come out of this wave of violence is that the thin veil of legitimacy that Reform etc gave to the far right movement has been stripped away.

The whole world can now see that these people are nothing but violent, racist thugs. Hopefully it will pave the way for violent white supremacist groups to be labelled the terrorists that they are.

Greenkindness · 05/08/2024 09:06

I’d be really happy for everyone to sit down and talk about how they feel.

Firstly though, I’d like to deal with the burning down of a library and CAB and hotels, and arsonists and thieves and criminals via the judicial system. Then let’s talk.

Deardeidree · 05/08/2024 09:07

Alwaystired94 · 05/08/2024 08:37

The 'men' in those videos are exactly the men i'd leave a train carriage to avoid, the ones i'd avoid on a street and wouldn't want to be alone anywhere near.

There is a correlation between 'conservative'/nationalist views and VAWG. Look at their own chants " save OUR girls" ownership.

Yes, I’ve been known to change carriages or if I see them all piling on at a station I’m at sometimes I just stand back and wait for the next one! The worst is when it’s a bus- I feel it’s harder to avoid them as you can’t just move down the carriages on a bus!

All this is literally one of the reasons I’m finally learning to drive! But then seeing the video I posted upthread with cars being stopped by racist males and asked “are you white?” it shows in these situations even being in a car won’t always insulate you from these thuggish bullies 😌

Yes the “save OUR girls” is very telling which is why it’s horrifying when you see women on here validating that. They are basically joining in with a sentiment that says white women are more important and worthy of being protected than other women.

Sorry he had an actual real job before becoming a politician. What would have been a better previous career for a PM to have? A banker perhaps?

Imagine being this obtuse that you think this is a gotcha.

YANBU
No matter how angry you are with the state of the country and immigration levels - nobody has the right to terrorise people- especially in their home or place of worship. Absolutely disgusted with everyone involved, excusing or condoning this vile behaviour. It’s almost like a pogrom.

SuePreemly · 05/08/2024 09:09

The fact that the poor girls who were killed and their families have been shoved aside is the worst bit of this.

You don't make your country safer by destroying libraries and shops and terrorising other citizens. It's a pretty simple premise, I think but one these rioters cants seem to grasp.

Bushmillsbabe · 05/08/2024 09:09

HaveToStopTheWorld · 05/08/2024 06:49

I know from experience that you do not solve burning, long standing issues by insulting and silencing people

So the burning, longstanding issue of immigration can't be solved by people chanting 'fuck paedo Muslim immigrants' and setting fire to cars, bins and mosques then, right?

How exactly do you 'listen' to people screaming that in the streets while smashing up cities?

How exactly do those people deserve to be treated with respect?

Governments do engage with the issues around immigration; they just don't drown asylum seekers in the Channel which is what these people want. They'll never be happy with any kind of immigration policy short of that.

I think people might be happier with a more robust immigration system - and the fact we don't have it is the fault of the government rather than the asylum seekers. Currently many seem to dissappear waiting for their claim to be heard, because the system is just so slow, and we deport very few people. Those who claims are found to be invalid should be quickly deported rather than years and years of appeals. And those who are granted asylum should be supported to integrate, learn English and get jobs.
I believe that compulsory English lessons would go a long way to help integration. From the small sample of families of asylum seekers I work with, the women are universally not being allowed by their husbands to attend English lessons, which leaves them unable to seek medical care, unable to find a job, to engage with their child's school, to support their children with their reading and writing. If you can't speak the language of a country then you cannot effectively integrate into that country
