Absolute sub-human scum rioting in the streets. Attacking hotels with humans inside. Burning down libraries and CABs. Pretending it’s about immigration when it’s just mindless animal violence.

I am very much looking forward to their days in court. Starting point for Violent Disorder - two years. Attempted Murder? Life sentence.

Not so hard now, are you lads? Fuck you all. I just sympathise with their wives and kids cos a sentence like that means saying goodbye to any social housing they might live in.

And they filmed themselves. I hope they live in fear of that knock on the door for years. Then when it comes, I hope they realise that they’ve ruined their lives.

Them, and the traitors who encouraged them.

Scumbags one and all.

And frankly I don’t care if anyone thinks I’m being unreasonable or not.

I'd go with good ole curfews and tags and community service.

But community service is nice jumpsuits that shows someone you're a rioter. And community service that makes them fix the damage they've caused.

I'd love tags that alarm if you aren't at home plugged into a system by your curfew time.

You think hiding behind a mask whilst you do this is clever? Nah. Come out and show the world who you are if you truely believe what you're doing is for the greater good.

‘These are the same men who attack their partners or make their kids live in fear’

Maybe, but there are plenty of home-owning men who don’t riot but attack their partners. The classism is so unnecessary. If it is only one social class rioting, perhaps we should be asking why they are so disproportionately affected and upset.

This isn’t about class.

This is about violent bullies trying to feel superior and they are the ones who are more likely to attack their partners and children.

Most of these thugs are out drinking all day and night and not worrying about work the next day, so they are either incredibly rich or they’re the scum that gives council estates and people on benefits a bad name.

HeySummerWhereAreYou · 04/08/2024 22:00

Couldn't agree with you more @Friendsfestival

Bellsandthistle · 04/08/2024 22:20

@Choochoo21 it wouldn’t be mumsnet if there wasn’t an element of classism.

They could be put on the boat the Tories thought was fit for asylum seekers. I understand that's been vacated.

I was thinking Rwanda.

Starting point for Violent Disorder - two years

Released after serving 40% of that, under Labour’s announced plans to deal with prison overcrowding.

And it’s doubtful that anyone’s family is going to be evicted from their social housing.

They’re disgusting animals, but unfortunately if you’re looking forward to them receiving an adequate punishment I fear you’ll be waiting a long time.

Except the early release scheme is for non violent offences with custodial sentences less than 2 years.

AdiLane · 04/08/2024 22:35

The younger ones are likely to be living at home with their parents.

How horrifying to find out just what your DC’s are capable of.

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 04/08/2024 19:56

One of them has already sat in court and cried.

I thought they were supposed to be big and tough? If you’re going to act like a racist lunatic you need to see it through. Not crumple at the first hurdle.

They showed one on the news earlier, his grubby tracksuit was being gently gripped by 2 beautiful huge police dogs and he was wailing and squealing like a pig, it was brilliant.

SergeantDawkins · 04/08/2024 22:40

Wonder if any of them will get a harsher sentence than Cressida and co.

LiterallyOnFire · 04/08/2024 22:43

This happened in 2011 in Wandsworth (one of the centres of rioting was Clapham Junction). If a person on a tenancy was convicted of certain offences, the tenancy could be ended.

Caused much discussion on MN at the time (because homeowning rioters did not lose their homes), but much local support from damaged communities who did not want those who caused the damage to remain there.

(I was formerly fairly local)

Me too. I remember it well.

I thought that Wandsworth were told it wasn't legal to do that (largely mums of rioters at risk of being evicted in that scenario).

LiterallyOnFire · 04/08/2024 22:44

CautionaryTaleGirl · 04/08/2024 19:48

I hope they do lose their social housing.

What? The innocent wives, children, mothers and siblings? Aren't you perfectly delightful?

Bex5490 · 04/08/2024 22:47

Absolutely with you OP - I started a thread a few days ago to express my disgust.

But the last couple of days I’ve been thinking about the locations of some of the riots. Are they housing refugees (who I am happy that our country is looking after) in poor (often mostly white) areas which is creating kind of ghettos?

I feel like a lot of the people rioting are too thick to realise that this isn’t the fault of brown/ Muslim/ any one not white…

greatplanstan · 04/08/2024 22:50

A poster asked for a link to the legislation with regards to the social housing element.

New grounds were added for possession as part of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014.

www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2014/12/section/99/enacted?view=plain

I have no data as to how many if any possessions have been made using these grounds, but do agree that again, as rioting is mainly, but not all men that their actions again are likely to negatively impact women and children.

I don't think there is similar legislation for those who own their home.

ll09sm · 04/08/2024 22:50

Don’t worry. Most of them will be let off with community service or something. Sending people to prison these days is considered an outrage by the very ‘progressives’ frothing right now at the rioters.

The snobbery and stereotyping is off the scale.

That's only been posted about three dozen times on MN today.

Do you think we're in danger of diluting the impact slightly?

Icantbelieveitsnotnutter · 04/08/2024 22:52

It's those "EDL" types that moan that the country is wasting public money on asylum seekers yet they're trashing public areas and services like the police using...you've guessed it...public money......🙈

Lol - First time on MN today.

LiterallyOnFire · 04/08/2024 22:54

This isn’t about class.

It absolutely is about class - or at least about wealth - when otherwise identical rioters will get different consequences based on their housing tenure. How is that ever justice?

Putting them on home curfew for ten years after their custodial sentences seems fair to me.

They could be put on the boat the Tories thought was fit for asylum seekers. I understand that's been vacated.

It was refurbished with single rooms, a gym, access to medical and dental care but it wasn't good enough. Wouldn't you think that they would be grateful for the facilities, after all, haven't they just escaped from a war zone? 🙄

LiterallyOnFire · 04/08/2024 22:56

Lol - First time on MN today.

It really isn't.

We've even had the "half biscuit" variant.

Don't get me wrong it's a clever illustration but blimey it's over-exposed suddenly.

No exactly making an effort to be employable are they? Those thugs so obsessed with people stealing ‘their’ jobs. Prats the lot of them.

How do yu know they haven't got jobs? Most of us are angry at illegal immigrants being housed in hotels at our expense.
Most people are annoyed at the infrastructure creaking at the seams.Go and educate yourself!
