Very much looking forward to the court cases

Absolute sub-human scum rioting in the streets. Attacking hotels with humans inside. Burning down libraries and CABs. Pretending it’s about immigration when it’s just mindless animal violence.

I am very much looking forward to their days in court. Starting point for Violent Disorder - two years. Attempted Murder? Life sentence.

Not so hard now, are you lads? Fuck you all. I just sympathise with their wives and kids cos a sentence like that means saying goodbye to any social housing they might live in.

And they filmed themselves. I hope they live in fear of that knock on the door for years. Then when it comes, I hope they realise that they’ve ruined their lives.

Them, and the traitors who encouraged them.

Scumbags one and all.

And frankly I don’t care if anyone thinks I’m being unreasonable or not.

the phrase 'repercussions for the whole family' does not sit well with me. Innocents punished for other people's crimes
I agree @Felaku it's all a bit 'mafia' imo!

I’ve not read beyond your first sentence because you’ve misunderstood and I feel embarrassed for you. Suffice it to say refugees absolutely do not have to claim asylum in the first country they reach, even though that country has an obligation to hear any claim.

In fairness, that's exactly what she said. So no need to be embarrassed for her.

I wish a civil dialogue was easier to have.

She said refugees have to claim asylum in the first country they come to and then attempted to back it up with “evidence” that said exactly the opposite.
Civility is nice but right now accuracy is probably more useful.

A few sobbing in court when they didn’t get bail. The “I thought it was a peaceful protest line” being trotted out. Yeah, course you did.

JenniferBooth · 06/08/2024 19:06

Cant the people protesting see who is really at fault here? The reason asylum applications were slowed down is because the longer the asylum seekers languished in the hotels the more money it made For the hotels and companies like G4S and Serco. Why is this not obvious.

SpecialKate · 06/08/2024 19:15

Bet she fucking loved the lockdowns too

Why on earth would you bring "lockdowns" into this?

Raising something like that in a thread about far right violence smacks of yet more conspiracist nonsense.

It is to people who bother to think critically.

But some people just cannot allow facts to stand in the way of their prejudice .

Starting point for Violent Disorder - two years

Released after serving 40% of that, under Labour’s announced plans to deal with prison overcrowding.

And it’s doubtful that anyone’s family is going to be evicted from their social housing.

They’re disgusting animals, but unfortunately if you’re looking forward to them receiving an adequate punishment I fear you’ll be waiting a long time.

These “labour plans” for early release of prisoners were in fact a Tory policy already in full swing when the election happened.

ContactNightmare · 06/08/2024 19:23

I wouldn’t bet on early release happening. They will change that

YY @itsgettingweird The Tories slowed it down because it served two purposes a, to make them and their friends money and b. to sew division.

Yes. and eventually they will end up living on estates like mine You can be damn sure they wont be living near any of the MPs that instigated this.

Its not really a stretch is it? Especially as a PP pointed out that that poster favoured a North Korean approach to families losing homes due to a relatives behaviour

It’s not North Korea is it: it’s been English law since 2014’

Crikeyalmighty · 06/08/2024 19:34

I would however take social housing off any single childless men or women found guilty of violence or looting - and there are some. More deserving people out there

itsgettingweird · 06/08/2024 19:35

Completely Jennifer.

Everything is a political decision by governments to achieve their aim.

But people just don't understand that. There needs to be better education about politics and economics in secondary school. As well as SM etc.

These asylum seekers have been sold as much of a lie by the traffickers as the government had tried to sell us.

Our streets aren't paved with gold. We don't have housing (because they didn't meet their targets). We don't have a functioning free health service for all (because they ran down the nhs) and there isn't a school on your doorstep with loads of support for your child - because they underfunded education.

No sure start centres meant integration feel shirt too.

And now we have Farage admitting he made a mistake because he believed something he was told by Tate that was untrue about the Southport suspect.

Not one of these rioters has stopped to notice that he was a British born lad with Rwandan parents. The very Rwandans we were going to being here in a reciprocal arrangement for them processing 200 asylum seekers.

But hey. As long as they get to loot Greg's and have a bath with a lush bath bomb who cares about the truth eh? 🤦🏼‍♀️

Scentedjasmin · 06/08/2024 19:38

"Maybe, but there are plenty of home-owning men who don’t riot but attack their partners. The classism is so unnecessary. If it is only one social class rioting, perhaps we should be asking why they are so disproportionately affected and upset".

Well, it is only 1 class rioting and those are the dimwits too thick and lazy to get jobs and then blame everyone else for their problems. If they had an ounce of intelligence, they would act more reasonably and responsibly, thereby gaining employment and rising out of poverty. Then of course, they would have less time to riot and be more mindful of wasting their taxes. I would argue that it's not their class that's holding them back, but themselves.

That assumption was made too soon on here after the 2011 riots. THEN there was this

So dont play your classist hand too soon.

The middle class 'rioters' revealed: The millionaire's daughter, the aspiring musician and the organic chef all in the dock

It appears some of the nation's more well-to-do, like Laura Johnson, (pictured left with a friend who was not involved in the rioting) allegedly joined in the looting spree too.

If employment was the route out of poverty employees wouldnt be having to claim UC on top

Ponoka7 · 06/08/2024 19:47

UnfriendMe · 06/08/2024 17:43

Same. Men like that don't marry reasonable women and raise good children, they marry low lives like themselves and raise shitty children. There should be repercussions for the whole family.

So we punish children for ewhat their father does and the failings of their mother? Do you have any understanding of the effect on education and outcomes that would mean? In fifteen years we would be back to were we are now. We haven't done the same to the family of other criminals, bombings, those mounting the pavement to kill people. We haven't deported violent etc criminals who are no British nationals because they have children in the UK.
Like it or not the law has to follow the usual guidelines and the sentances can't be disapportionate to what's gone before.
There was another counter riot on camera tonight by Muslim men, they were violent and threatening, but some MPs are justifying it. They all have to be dealt with the same.

You are not correct on sentencing guidelines - they can be lawfully departed from by any judge. Anyway, the chances are they will severe because a) the intent and b) the racial aggravation.

Women are sent to prison in this country. That ruins childrens lives.

This point about housing is nothing to do with the sentencing. It will be up to councils to decide to use it or not if the offender is named on the tenancy.

Housing associations not councils

Fair point. But it will be up to them, not judges

JenniferBooth · 06/08/2024 20:15

Yes lets give more power to unaccountable organisations like HAs one of whom contributed to the deaths of 72 people

The danger of radicalising another generation is the tricky bit.

JenniferBooth · 06/08/2024 20:38

So the same housing organisation that contributed to Grenfell could then get to decide whether to evict the family of a rioter for smashing things up despite the fact no one from said organisation has yet gone to prison for Grenfell OR lost their home
How interesting this could get!
