Biological men should not be fighting women how is this even happening ?? Two 'women' failed eligibility tests by the IBA. Yet the IOC deem them suitable it's mind boggling

https://www.elystandard.co.uk/news/24493383.nandy-acknowledges-concern-getting-balance-right-amid-olympic-gender-row/

'I understand that the biological facts are far more complicated than is being presented on social media and in some of the speculation.
“But I think as sporting bodies try to get that balance between inclusion, fairness and safety, there is a role for government to make sure that they’ve got the guidance and the framework and the support to make those decisions correctly and it’s something that I’ll be talking to sporting bodies about over the coming weeks and months.”
She told BBC Radio Five Live that “biology matters, particularly when it comes to sports like boxing”.'

Crikey.

That is so sad to read. She absolutely does not need to apologise or embrace him, or make excuses for feeling the way she felt.

To falsify/change your birth certificate to your ‘gender of preference’, you fill in a form. Now you do have to go to the extraordinary trouble of getting it witnessed (I think), and fork out 20 Euro for a copy.

Just by the bye, I think it's absolutely crazy that Ireland (or any country, for that matter) permits this. I mean, what could possibly go wrong? 🙄

ArabellaScott · 02/08/2024 16:03

Bit more detail here:

'According to the IBA's regulations: "Boxers will compete against boxers of the same gender, meaning Women vs Women and Men vs Men as per the definitions of these Rules."
The IBA defines a woman, female or girl as "an individual with chromosome XX" and men, males or boys as "an individual with chromosome XY".
The IBA denied Khelif's testosterone levels had been tested.
However, in an interview with BBC sports editor Dan Roan on Thursday, IBA chief executive Chris Roberts said XY chromosomes were found in "both cases".'

Olympics 2024 boxing controversy: What we know and what we don't know

The IOC's decision to allow the entry of two athletes, that are said to have failed gender eligibility tests, has proved controversial.

The arguments about fairness and what male inclusion does to women's sport pale into insignificance when you think about what it means for girls and women to watch males punch and hit them and be cheered on.

What @ArabellaScott said. It's deeply upsetting to many of us. And the gaslighting is just as bad.

I've never been, nor wanted to be a boxer.

But way back 30 years ago, when walking jacket manufacturers barely knew women existed, I used to get a choice of say 2 women's jackets or about 30 men's jackets. The shop staff used to say, "Oh, you can just wear a man's small one." Yeah, right, I'm just like a small man. The waists were in the wrong place, and, always, the sleeves were made for someone with arms like a gorilla...

Spare a thought for policewomen.

The main supplier of stab vests to many UK police forces supplies vests design for men only. The policewomen are told to use a size small man's vest.

Policewomen have complained to their Federation and on numerous force forums that these men's vests are too lose in the shoulders, meaning they slip, and too tight in the chest, compressing their breasts and making it difficult to breathe.

These are the women that we are asking to run towards the danger of our behalf in riot situations.

Invisible Women is good on this. And Criado Perez had a lot of useful points about how useless most PPE was for women during COVID-19 because it wasn't designed for women.

Unsurprising. All over the world, women are constantly forced into apologising for and minimising the bad behaviour of men

'Balance' - this always means finding the acceptable and palatable level of harm for women to advantage biological males.

Sod the nuance. Xx only for female only competition in sport. That's it. Make mens the open category. If that disadvantages athletes with rare medical conditions then that's what the paralympics is for.

duc748 · 02/08/2024 16:22

Can't expect anything but witless mutterings from Nandy.

NonPlayerCharacter · 02/08/2024 16:26

It seems as though all of a certain poster's posts are gone, so I hope I won't get into trouble for stating that he was a clear and obvious troll, only here on the windup. I doubt he really believed anything he was saying - it was lazy shit - but he did obviously think the whole thing was a joke. That is, the destruction of sporting integrity and equal opportunity for women, their destroyed careers and even the outrageously elevated dangers, up to and including brain damage, bone breakage and death, for female boxers when pitted against males.

I suspect he was pretty young - I've been seeing his type since 2001, they don't really change - and thought he was being very clever and funny. I won't waste time wondering why he's not using all this energy to talk to women his own age in real life, but while I don't think he believed anything he was saying, it's disturbing that he didn't think the situation was serious. He might not truly believe men are women but he does think women are a joke and he does think the matter should be undermined.

Perhaps he'll grow out of it, but the damage done in the meantime might be irreversible.

I'm waiting for Khelif to apologise for groping her. Probably won't as he sees her as a service human for his male entitlement.

We don't k now if she has X, Y Or 2 x ZZ chromosome. We don't know. Chances are she doesn't know. The "tests" performed are unknown what they were and results. Performed by a discredited Russian organisation .

He failed a "gender," ie sex test and the only way to do that is to be male. There are photos of him in the ring and you can clearly see his male genitalia, protuberant in his shorts.

The IBA (International Boxing Association) is most certainly not a Russian organisation, it was formed in the France in 1946 and comprises, today, members of more than 200 national boxing associations.

Ach no!

I bet she feels incredible pressure to do this either from abuse on social media, her own inherent sense of sportsmanship, or female socialisation to budge up and make room for men - probably a combination of all of three.

I am heartbroken for her because she was robbed of a chance at a fair fight, literally beaten about the face by a man, and sexually assaulted straight after by that very same man on a world stage, and she feels that she has to apologise for how she acted 😭

It's so familiar and so fucking upsetting and depressing.

Please read the thread. This has been addressed many times now.

You are wrong.

A male person with a DSD is a male person with a DSD. They are not ‘biological females’. Even a male person who cannot process testosterone is a male person. Only male people can have the DSD they have.

Runninggirls26 · 02/08/2024 16:36

Intersex is a misleading term based in ignorance and misinformation and the DSD community has a clear consensus that it is offensive to them because it wrongly implies that they aren't really men or women.

Everyone is male or female. A very small number of people have a variation on their sexual development pathway but they're still male or female. And Khelif is male. The DSD is recognisable only because it's in a male body.

Looking like a women does not equal being a woman.

It's not a costume or a disguise.

Runninggirls26 · Today 16:36

She isn’t biologically male- she’s actually biologically female having been born with female genitals but is intersex

I'm sorry, but that's wrong in so many ways. He is biologically male, having been conceived with XY chromosomes. He has a DSD (intersex is an outdated, inaccurate term, which many DSD people say is offensive to them). His genitalia wasn't obviously male at birth, so he was registered as a girl.

When he came to puberty, his testes began to produce testosterone in the normal, male range and he developed physically as an obvious male. This has given him an unmistakable male physique, you can see by his musculature and body shape. These give him unsurmountable physical advantages over women.

Also, there's a photo on twitter, in which you can see his bulge.

Yes, it must have been a psychological shock for him and all sympathy for that, but now he knows and still took advantage, to get easy wins over women. What about his recent opponent, who said she'd never been hit so hard? No sympathy for her being forced to face a much stronger man, unfairly and being battered?
