Biological men should not be fighting women how is this even happening ?? Two 'women' failed eligibility tests by the IBA. Yet the IOC deem them suitable it's mind boggling

You’ve literally got the best British Olympic boxer of this generation, Nicola Adams - a black woman - calling this madness out and still these fools are trying to deflect.

Why do you keep saying ‘bro’ on a predominantly female site? Are you mainly accustomed to talking to other boys?

Agreed. That poor athlete, people as usual jump in with two feet without actually understanding what the athlete is, she is not trans she has a complex rare medical disorder. Disorder of sex development, read up on it and stop calling this woman trans she is not!!

I agree. I’m firmly in the men shouldn’t fight women camp. However, reading about this situation, and not going by the click-bait headlines, I feel a little sorry for these boxers, who are caught in the middle.

The test results from the discredited IBL have never been validated or published. They refuse to even say who performed them or what the tests actually were. At the moment there is no evidence this poor athlete is male, female, intersex or an alien. This whole hate campaign is shocking and disgusting. She's had death threats. She had has done nothing wrong.

This whole mess needs sorting by the boxing and Olympic authorities .

I truly believe that if she is biologically male she shouldn't be fighting females but until there is measured testing and evidence this whole media circus, and public figures (I am looking at you JK) need to butt out and stop the awful comments about this poor Algerian athlete. The debate needs to be rational and fact based.

Edited

There's absolutely nothing to stop the IOC from cheek swabbing every athlete and not allowing anyone with a Y chromosome to compete in women's categories.

It's so weird that they refuse to do this.

We're still waiting for you to show the remotest interest in any of the WOC who you find inconvenient. It continues to say everything that you've failed to do so. They're secondary, bit players, they don't really matter. There's a word for that.

I wouldn’t agree with my ‘friend’ competing in women’s sport. I’d feel sad for my friend, but I wouldn’t change the entire field of women’s sport to accommodate my friend’s feelings.

this - athletes come to terms with disappointment all the time; hip/knee/shoulder injuries; un planned pregnancies; growing to too/not being tall enough… I could go on. That’s the nature of competitive sport. Just because a person had undeveloped genitalia as a child doesn’t grant them access to women’s sport, anymore than someone born with a previously undetected but fatal heart condition isn’t allowed to continue in their sport anymore.

Life’s a bit shit, but them’s the rules.

Nicola is the wrong type of black woman, alas.

What happens if one of these female boxers dies at the hands of a trans one?
Good for Carini for pulling the plug and walking away from this, female athletes in all sports should refuse to take part those with xy chromosomes. That would soon sort out the decision makers.

What happens if one of these female boxers dies at the hands of a trans one?

Judging by some of the posts on this thread, it seems some would regard a female boxer’s death an acceptable price to pay for the ‘compassion’ that K deserves.

Chersfrozenface · 02/08/2024 09:54

But the vitriol and cruel comments and deliberately calling her a man are absolutely disgusting and just make me think these people have more hatred in their heads than brains.

It is not vitriol nor cruel to call a male person a man.

And take a look at Khelif's Instagram account, especially the non-boxing photos.

You’re still not answering!!

Why is that? What is it about answering this question that you’re desperate to avoid?

Why won’t you say what it is about Khelif that makes you priorise his wants higher than women’s safety or fair competition?

No darling it’s not, it’s why animals manage to figure out who is female and who is male. Try taking a break from the internet and watching a nature documentary to learn the basics.

Whammyammy · 02/08/2024 09:55

What a wonderful world we live in, where a man can beat a woman in a boxing ring in the hope of getting a little medal.

CocoapuffPuff · 02/08/2024 09:56

The simple solution would be for the cheek swab test and the issuing of an "athletic passport" confirming for all time their eligibility to whichever category that individual belongs in, according to genetics.

Whether they qualify or not is up to them. But they're eligible within their own sex class as long as they follow the rules re doping etc.

We need a line. There used to be a line. That has been erased at some point, so it should be reinstated.

The current heat is because mealy mouthed bureaucrats with massive salaries are afraid to draw the line. The cowardice is theirs.

If there's a loophole, anywhere, someone will take advantage. It's simply nature, we are opportunists after all. It's why humans were so successful millenia ago. Close the loopholes and the line re-forms.

The refusal to do this indicates a lack of courage. So perhaps these bureaucrats should be replaced, as they're too afraid to do their job?

Would manslaughter or other charge be different if man women trans or whatever be any different?

This isn’t the way adults debate. Not if they want people to take what they say seriously and not write it off as juvenile witterings.

His misogyny, and it’s also why he’s not outraged at the transman who is ALSO fighting in the womens boxing, despite you know, transmen being men according to the TRAs.

Frankly, transgender or DSD doesn’t matter.

XY should not compete against XX.

(To be fair, I haven’t seen anyone say that the boxers are transgender. All reports have either said too much testosterone or DSD)

Edited

Yes, if they have the strength and speed of a make then they have an unfair advantage irrespective of how they were raised.
