To ask what ‘far right’ means to you?

Let’s not make this a Southport thread, just a political one. I consider myself a centrist and voted Lib Dem (to get us back in EU but that’s another story).

There’s been a lot of talk of ‘far right’ on here over the last few days, but very few observations on what far right actually means. To me it means things like capital punishment, enforced religion, open state misogyny, a blanket ban on abortion, homosexuality being outlawed, that sort of thing.

To me, having justified concerns about immigration, having views on new house building, voting Conservative or disapproving of Just Stop Oil protestors doesn’t make you ‘far right’. Centre or right of centre perhaps, but not far right.

What do you think?

No, they’re the ones letting men destroy what women have. One woman was punched so hard today she had to call it quits on something she had spent years training for. Another woman can’t play football because her kneecap was shattered by a man playing a woman’s game.

Both sides are violent and dangerous.

Don't be ridiculous. Biscuit

CassieMaddox · 01/08/2024 23:10

I guess at least the forced thing between reasonable GC concerns and the far right is now fully on display.
It disgusts me that womens concerns are being co-opted to justify male violence.

Yeah totally natural to terrorise all the parents and children in that neighbourhood by rioting in their streets while the community is reeling from the shock. Make sure the traumatised children don’t get any sleep. Anyone would do the same.

I'm not answering faux outraged questions. It's tedious and I see you.

If you want a conversation, read the thread and respond appropriately rather than strawmanning and projecting to ask these questions. I am very familiar with the tactics and cannot be bothered. And I don't owe you anything.

Faux outrage?

I’m utterly perplexed, actually. I don’t even like Tommy Robinson or Nigel Farage, but I can’t fathom how someone could actually think that the U.K. under either of those men would be, for women, akin to Saudi Arabia.

You are familiar with my tactics? What tactics? I’m baffled by what you said, and all your responses since. No one owes anyone anything, but your lack of any kind of explanation speaks volumes.

I asked you what you thought would change in the U.K. for women under Nigel Farage that would result in them experiencing the same oppression as women in Saudi. You responded by telling me to stop defending thugs. Perhaps you should learn how to respond appropriately.

You see me? Lol. Let me guess, I’m a far right fascist? Is that right?

TomDaleysShavedBalls · 01/08/2024 23:13

I think they are unempathetic idiots who gave no thoughts to anyone apart from themselves tbh. Typical entitled men thinking their thoughts and wants are naturally right and everyone agrees.

Anyone with half a brain could see the last thing a grieving community needs is a riot. But those knobs think their need to "protect the children" is more important.

I loathe them.

It is relevant. The man is a cunt.

But you carry on defending him.

Where have I defended him?

Go ahead - quote me.

I’ll wait…

She doesn't think that. If you read her posts it is very clear.

If you want to have a fight over what another poster imagined someone said, knock yourself out. I cba.

I knew this long, winding, disingenois thread would eventually end in people asking if racist rioting thugs really meant it?

It is ridiculous forced teaming to bring the Olympic boxing into a thread about the far right. Hth.

mollyfolk · 01/08/2024 23:23

TomDaleysShavedBalls · 01/08/2024 19:02

Do you have to be white to be far right?

No. In England the far-right claim ownership of what it means to be English. But there are far right ideologies and governments all over the world. Far right ideas where at the root of the Rwandan genocide for example.

Some of the most misogynistic, homophobic people are on the left.

Absolutely. But veiled in self-righteousness.

I think you are choosing to not understand or you are genuinely Left good Right bad sort of person.

Either way I’ll leave you to your other comments where you’re also getting a bit confused and not expressing yourself very well.

I’m not sure it is.
The label of “far right” has been hurled at women (and some men) for opposing men in women’s sport.
We have to acknowledge that it is often used as a label in an attempt to shut up valid concerns.

It was an example of the misogyny of the left. Many of the traits being mentioned on this thread apply to both ends of the spectrum.

Lentilweaver · 01/08/2024 23:36

This is like those pathetic threads on male violence where 3 women are slaughtered by a man with a crossbow, and NAMALTS pop up to complain about some woman being snide to them in the office. Self righteousness is NOT comparable to rioting thugs from any community.

How about the self-righteous rioting thugs who punched an elderly woman in the face in New Zealand? They were rioting thugs all right, but because they perceive themselves as on the right side of history, they think there is virtue in their thuggery.

Ok so with men we/you accept it’s fine to make a whole group of millions of people ‘take responsibility’ for the actions of a minority. Do you apply this to any other groups?

No idea about the details of NZ politics since I am not a New Zealander. Any rioters who destroy property and exhibit violent behaviour, self righteous or not, have no virtue.

Actually we don't. Otherwise the legal system would be making my DS accept responsibility for Kyle Clifford, which would be nonsensical. I am just saying that killing people is not comparable to office bitchiness.

Started out with faux wide eyed innocence, ended with " Let's blame all PoC for the act of one man and make them bear collective responsibility". And then some diversion about NZ politics.

Nope. The damage done by the far-left is worse as it’s more insidious and calculated. Its biggest proponents cloak themselves in what they believe to be untouchable moral propriety. I know which I’d rather deal with.
