on holiday at the mo and I cant even count the number of times I have seen topless women sunbathing at the beach… next to kids!…on non-nudist beach!

I really don’t want to see titties out in the middle of the day

It doesn't matter though. Women shouldn't have to cater to the sexual appetites of men at all, either to gratify or avoid it. Maybe men think of my breasts as sexual, but it doesn't matter to me, because I don't and they're my breasts.

I find men's arms and shoulders really attractive. Should my DP go around demanding that men cover up their shoulders, least I look at them and find them attractive? Of course not. I’m late to this so maybe this has already been said. In the eighties it was usual to be on Mediterranean beaches with women being topless. If you didn’t have your bikini top off you stuck out as the unusual one! I lived in Brighton back then and a lot of women would sunbathe topless and that wasn’t on the nudist beach either, Brighton and Hove. I remember seeing one of my neighbours sitting there topless surrounded by her young children. By making a fuss about it you are teaching your children that bodies without clothes are wrong and they will have their own hang ups when they grow up. Maybe relax a bit and avoid these areas on future holidays if it bothers you that much.

I’m bisexual and maybe I’m unusual in this but - context is important! Yes breasts can be very attractive (just like smiles, arses, thighs, eyes etc can be very attractive) but that doesn’t mean people go around with the raging horn for other people’s bodies all the time, does it?

I’ve found boobs (and other body parts!) a turn on in situations where there has been a sexy or flirty context but I’m not a dog in heat. When I’m at the beach with my family the last thing on my mind is sex, and seeing some random woman‘s boobs as she minds her own business in my vicinity isn’t going to render me incapacitated by horniness.

If the OP is in a country where toplessness is normal and acceptable on the beach, then this is highly likely to include beaches with families, because they don’t think toplessness = sexual. It’s normal whether children are there or not.

The onus is on the tourist to do their research ahead of time, and if they don’t want to see breasts on the beach, pick a destination where toplessness isn’t the norm.

It is not reasonable to expect an entire country to change its cultural norms to appease tourists with different norms.

For some reason people seem to be misunderstanding me to think I am saying all boobs are sexually attractive, that's absolutely not what I'm saying.

The point I am making is simply that people upthread are saying that boobs are not a sexual body part. And in many cases, dependant on context and other factors, they are. Otherwise women could walk into shops or hang out in parks topless like (mainly British) men do.

As long as she doesn't respond inappropriately, by staring or harassing him or making some kind of scene, who cares? We can't control what people think. People just need to act appropriately, no matter what they think. Why should women deny themselves a pleasure enjoyed by men, that is entirely normal and acceptable in context, because of what a man might think? It seems to me then that the issue is other tourists who aren't abiding by local norms. In which case its up to the local population to deal with the problem - if they want to.
