on holiday at the mo and I cant even count the number of times I have seen topless women sunbathing at the beach… next to kids!…on non-nudist beach!

I really don’t want to see titties out in the middle of the day

When I was last in Spain it was the Spanish who went topless. I am Scandinavian and cannot remember seeing anyone top less in my home country since the 90s.

Plenty of women have explained that they go topless for the pleasurable sensation of it; the freedom, the sun on their skin and the feeling in the water. And sometimes because they want to avoid tan lines.

Yeah - I haven’t seen it widespread on holiday for ages. Made me wonder how old the OP was, because it’s not been as prevalent in the last 20 years. And to think, my mum used to laugh at me on the odd occasion I didn’t go topless (I had a crush on one of the cute guys that worked at the beach we used to go to and would get all self-conscious around him for the first few days) 😂

Not to sound a million years old but I think the youth of today are concerned about sun exposure - I keep seeing young people on Instagram recommending rash vests and long sleeved coverups on the beach to avoid sun damage.

That’s a fair point, they’re all so good at caring for their skin, wearing factor 50 on their face every day and such. Their right too, the chances of skin cancer goes up massively after one or two burns. I guess as long as you’re getting your vitamin D in, it’s all good.

I don't understand what's so inherently wrong with women's nipples. If men can go topless somewhere then women should be able to do so too.
Its not something I wish to do - I have in the past - but I don't object to anyone else doing it. Beach is fine for anyone to be topless, the office isn't.

OP would have a fit if they'd spent the weekend with me. I was at a festival. There were people walking around topless, people with 'pasties' over their nipples, kids running around naked, and women breastfeeding whilst they were watching performers.
Nobody cared at all, other than asking the breastfeeding women if they wanted a drink of water.

To be fair, the last mum I invited to a playdate did just this (to breastfeed her baby). You might have a hyper sexualised view of breasts, but many people don't. My breasts are just a standard part of my body. If they have a function at all, it's to feed my babies. Why should I (or anyone) get bag tan lines just to avoid offending you?

The workplace comparison also doesn't make sense. That you wouldn't get a body part out at work doesn't mean you can't at the beach. I wouldn't get my arse cheeks or even my stomach out at work, but see both at the beach.

I guess back in the 80s no one was going to take a photo of you and upload it so that everyone you know can instantly see it! The cameras are the only reason I either don't go topless, or do it very discretely.

You will find that in some countries touching people of the opposite sex is not allowed in public and you can absolutely be prosecuted for that. Using your logic it should be banned everywhere as it may offend some people.
