Just that really! on holiday at the mo and I cant even count the number of times I have seen topless women sunbathing at the beach… next to kids!…on non-nudist beach! I really don’t want to see titties out in the middle of the day on top of that I don’t fancy my teenage boys or even my DH having a look at them either its obvious they’re coming from certain European countries ! Do they have no sense of what’s right or wrong ? AIBU?

I think topless is preferable to gold nipple covers - some with tassles - that seemed de rigeur with Russian young women when I was in Egypt one year. Worn with the flossiest version of thong bikini bottoms I have ever seen.

Family and I all had a good gawp at those!

Women don't need to have all that flesh to carry milk or breastfeed. Other mammals don't have this and still breast feed. Its a very human thing. We have that large fleshy bit, very prominently displayed on the front of our bodies, to display sexual maturity and attract sexually mature males.

I don't really understand why so many women want to deny this.

Yes this is the fact that I have repeatedly pointed out too. I have repeatedly said that is why men find them attractive. I'm not sure what reasons you have to claim I don't.

Its also true that human breasts have a large amount of flesh that is not needed. For some women, so much that is causes them back pain. That extra flesh has no benefit, its not needed for feeding babies. It does however, act as a very clear signal of sexual maturity. May I introduce you to the concept of a peacock tail. If something works to attract mates, and breasts, as signs of sexual maturity and reproductive potential do attract mates as you have stated yourself, can become exaggerated through evolution.

I was recently in a 'certain European country' and lots of women were topless. Yes my teen DSs were probably slightly uncomfortable, but thats because we're British and very repressed when it comes to nudity. Which I told them!

That reminds me of the nachtzones in the Swiss and Austrian hotel spas we've stayed in for skiing. Swimming costumes are banned so you're meant to go naked or, if you must, wear the tiny tea towels they provide. (I'm still of the view that swimwear is more hygienic than your meat and two veg on the seats but I'll defer on that point).

I ended up with three tiers of bollocks in the sauna as my view. Middle tier chaps were all man-spreading and top tier was lying on his back with his legs up in the air but i wasn't the head end. I try to occasionally shrug off my natural British repression but I confess it was tested on those holidays,

It's the strength of the male gaze that exerts a force on breast tissue, pulling it outwards DOH. Then babies just had to evolve to extract nutrition from the body parts the men preferred.

Also @Mondaysocial some people have larger ears than others. There is no evolutionary purpose to it, they don’t hear better. Not everything has an evolutionary purpose. Not everything is a peacock tail dear. You’re trying to associate genetic differences with sex. If your reasoning worked, why do lots of women have very small breasts? Why are some quite flat chested? I have tiny tits, did my body not want men to find me attractive?

Seriously, provide the science or accept that it’s not a thing.

Not quite the same thing but appreciate the effort. I’m talking about the beach full stop, not beach vs home. People have been saying breasts aren’t sexual at all, so if they would go topless in front of other fathers / sons at a beach but not their own, why? What’s their reasoning?
