on holiday at the mo and I cant even count the number of times I have seen topless women sunbathing at the beach… next to kids!…on non-nudist beach!

I really don’t want to see titties out in the middle of the day

on top of that I don’t fancy my teenage boys or even my DH having a look at them either

its obvious they’re coming from certain European countries ! Do they have no sense of what’s right or wrong ?

Actually there's lots of British beaches where clothing is optional, not uncommon to see topless sunbathing elsewhere too but our weather is simply not often conducive to such things, fleeces and thermal trousers are more climate appropriate

I guess its a good education for young impressionable teens that bodies are not all the same and picture perfect like on social media. Theyre just boobs get over it 🙃

Many years ago when I was working in the west of Denmark, a British holidaymaker actually did complain to the local Tourist Office about the topless women. (I think he was so focussed on them that he missed the naked Germans further down the beach playing volleyball).

Anyhoo - his complaint made the front page of the local paper, to much hilarity.

Also, you seem to think that sunbathing topless is only allowed on nudist beaches. You can sunbathe topless anywhere you want. Nudist beaches are for those wanting to sunbathe completely naked. And I would suggest giving them a wide berth if you're this offended by boobs.

Well they might be on a family beach as, shock horror, they might be with their families?

If I've been on holiday in Mediterranean countries where it's common, i have also gone topless on occasion. I wouldn't do it in the office as it's not acceptable in the UK to do on a beach and I also don't wear a bikini to the office. I'm actually quite reserved so personally wouldn't stand up and walk about topless but I have every respect for those who can and do.

I have DSs (and an exH), they've never batted an eyelid. I'm not saying they might never have looked but they have managed not to stare/ask questions/be offended/objectify women.

I wouldn't go to a nudist beach as that's not my thing but if I did go, i certainly wouldn't complain that people were naked. Equally I wouldn't go to a country where it isn't accepted and go topless.

No, they are not forcing anything on you. You chose to go to a country where this is legal and acceptable. Perhaps, you should go to a separate area yourself.
If other ethnicities/cultures find things offensive it doesn't mean that we all should suddenly wear burkinis at the beach or cover our heads with hijab when popping to the shops in the UK, for instance.
I am still waiting to hear if your sons and husband are currently wearing t-shirts on the beach.

I’m a bit bewildered by this and obviously very behind the times, having not been on a beach holiday in 20+ years. But in the 80s and 90s, I remember being embarrassed because I was the only one on the beach who WASN’T topless. I also went topless on the beach as a child …
