To not want to see t*ts on the beach??!

1000 replies

TittiesOutPutThemBack · 30/07/2024 12:34

Just that really!

on holiday at the mo and I cant even count the number of times I have seen topless women sunbathing at the beach… next to kids!…on non-nudist beach!

I really don’t want to see titties out in the middle of the day

on top of that I don’t fancy my teenage boys or even my DH having a look at them either

its obvious they’re coming from certain European countries ! Do they have no sense of what’s right or wrong ?

AIBU?

It's been normal as far back as I remember to go topless, my mum and my aunties all did it in the 80s and 90s when we had family holidays in Spain.

I've only done it once or twice because I'm pale I prefer to cover up on the beach but on holidays with friends some of them have gone topless. Have you never been abroad before?

You are being unreasonable BTW if that wasn't clear from my post.

I get the different culture mentality but I dont have to accept it, for now they’re forcing their “culture” on me and other ethnicities that do not have to go through this

funny how I should accept this crap but they don’t realise there are diverse families around (from non European countries where this is pretty offensive) and there is absolute disrespect for any of this

as I said they can do whatever they want but in a separate area!

So what are you going to do about it - are you in or are you just being goady and this is a fake post.

Have a glass of wine and a sit down. Preferably topless, you’ll feel liberated.

PumpkinsAndCoconuts · 30/07/2024 13:18

you might prefer a different travel destination. Saudi Arabia? You probably won’t see any exposed breasts…

But there are specific cultural practices there which the OP would be expected to follow and (if she is real) the OP has an issue with having an other country's culture forced upon them. Best they stay in the UK

What are you going to do, call the police and say that you are offended on a beach by breasts.

If you want to go to a beach that protects modesty Saudi is very good for this.

halfthesun · 30/07/2024 13:20

YABU. For all the reasons that have been stated. I sunbathe topless it is so much more comfortable than the alternative. Boobs come in all shapes and sizes and I feel lucky to have two - breast cancer is very common in family, my mum had a mastectomy some years ago and sadly no longer feels able to sunbathe topless. Enjoy your holiday and be happy to be away somewhere warm with your family Daffodil

Get off the beach.... problem solved!

They’re not forcing anything on you, you don’t have to go abroad.

Wordsmithery · 30/07/2024 13:21

I think you must have led rather a sheltered life OP. It's not about right or wrong. It's about cultural norms. We're rather prurient in the UK about such matters. "They" (as you put it) are not. If you don't like it, stay at home.

Putting · 30/07/2024 13:21

RisingSunn · 30/07/2024 13:18

Well then on a hot day…why don’t teenage girls walk into Sainsbury’s topless?

Edited

I don’t think anyone should be going into a supermarket topless

MumHouseDilemma · 30/07/2024 13:21

TittiesOutPutThemBack · 30/07/2024 13:07

sure
the ones I am referring to here are not British , all Northern Europe

How do you know they’re from Northern Europe?

Do you feel the same way about men going topless on the beach? If not, why not?

I really think you should stay in whatever close-minded little part of Britain you come from and never leave.

Octavia64 · 30/07/2024 13:21

Look.

It's very simple.

In Britain people stick to British rules and culture about what to wear on the beach.

In Saudi Arabia people stick to Saudi rules about what to wear at the beach and swim in burkinis and cover up.

In Denmark people stick to Danish rules about what to wear at the beach and some go naked and some wear swimsuits.

If you go to Saudi and try to wear your swimsuit you will probably be arrested.
If you go to Denmark and complain about the naked people you will be laughed at or ignored.

You stick to the local rules for that place and objecting to their culture when you have chosen to go there is bloody rude.

TorroFerney · 30/07/2024 13:21

ByKindOpalPoet · 30/07/2024 13:15

can you show me where the OP states that the women had no bottoms on and therefore their vulva’s out? After all that’s the equivalent to a man having his penis out.

It was sarcastic, deliberately misunderstanding for comic effect.

5128gap · 30/07/2024 13:21

Do what I do OP. Erect of barricade of windbreaks and deckchairs and make hubby and the boys sit inside it. Position yourself directly in front and where you, and only you, mind! Can get a panoramic view of the beach and identify any incoming titties in good time. When they venture near, deploy immediate distraction techniques by pointing away and shouting "ooh Bernard a buzzard is about to fly off with your flip flop" or similar. Obviously this doesn't prevent you having to see the titties yourself. But sometimes you just have to take one for the team.

I’m British and sometimes sunbathe top less.

As you are the one that is struggling on a beach full of boobs it might help you to consider why you find this so offensive and to look at strategies to help you to cope.

If you don't want to see them, you definitely shouldn't look.

FragileWookiee · 30/07/2024 13:22

@TittiesOutPutThemBack are you British? Because we are a country in Europe and many, many British women, as proven by this thread, are not appalled at going topless on the beach.

Because sainsburys have rules on both men and women wearing a top inside their store.

No I'm sure your teenage sons have never seen tits before 😂

MissMoneyFairy · 30/07/2024 13:22

You're not respecting their culture either, perhaps you should have done your research first before you visited, what country is this and you do know that Britain is part of Northern Europe. How would you feel if they were criticising you.

Bromptotoo · 30/07/2024 13:22

TittiesOutPutThemBack · 30/07/2024 12:38

How can I not look? They are not far from me!

there are not many t**s on the streets , why are they right there on the beach?

it’s not a nudist beach there are tens of families around how is that normal?

What country/place is this?

Because in lots of places even in the UK it's normal, or at least not abnormal, on the beach

Remember when I was about 20 going on a youngsters holiday in France. Women, pretty much without exception, shed their bikini tops; sunburn central but otherwise not worthy of comment.

LiterallyOnFire · 30/07/2024 13:23

erikbloodaxe · 30/07/2024 13:19

British beaches it's not the done thing but abroad it is. Perhaps you could take this opportunity to educate your children about how different countries do things differently.

She hasn't actually said she is abroad. She won't tell us.
