make me feel better by telling me about cringing at yourself

I had an appointment with a man I fancied a bit in a professional context.
He asked me how I was and I didn't just overshare, it was like projectile vomiting sharing. The worst bit is that after I left I realised I was subconcious trying to impress him but really it was like I'd vomited on him with my life. I keep thinking about it and I want to die. I don't know him at all and the 'how are you' question was that very English thing of not a real question which makes it worse.

Please tell me something you've done that made you cringe to make me feel better.

Another one was when I bumped into a colleague of mine. He was a bit of a joker by the way. So I started chatting to him and 'Rob' was pretending he didn't know me and kind of looking a bit scared. I then realised it wasn't him at all. Just an incredible lookalike. I said something like 'I'm so sorry. I thought you were someone I knew.' He didnt say a word which made it even worse. Very awkward and embarrassing.

My friends one is incredibly cringe. She has always had an accent but doesn't know why. I think it's because her grandparents are east enders but her parents born in Surrey so a hybrid of both, although many think she is kiwi or Australian. After many comments she got fed up and to shut a colleague up, she told them that her parents were from Australia and they asked where and she thought of the one that came to mind 'Melbourne'.
You can guess what happened next can't you. Friend was out for a coffee with her mum, bumped into this colleague and colleague started asking about Australia and saying how mad friends mum must have been to leave there. There ensured a very awkward conversation where friend had to admit what she had done. I almost died of embarrassment on her behalf.
