@User8646382 😂 I can see how you might think that, but no. But I'm clearly in some kind of minority on this thread. I'm a working class immigrant raised on environmentalism by necessity and international solidarity, working with asylum-seekers from regions impacted by the climate emergency so, despite being a middle-aged woman and a mother of a strong-minded DD, I've little else in common with Mrs CressieMum.
And I'm not really in a lather, just frustrated that instead of directing a bit more "Wtf!?"-energy at the fossil fuel corporations who are screwing us all over with the help of our governments (here's hoping Labour will bring fresh hope), the working poor of the UK, many of whom were adversely and disproportionately impacted by the actions of JSO, are being cynically pitted against a handful of protesters (and a mum) instead of encouraged to rise in solidarity with the poor and voiceless in other nations, who are really feeling the climate emergency bite already. In terms of having a voice, and choosing whether we use it or not, we have the privilege. So we should think carefully about where we put our energy.
@SoreAndTired1 , I'm sorry you're unwell. The prevention of emergency services vehicles to reach their destinations doesn't sit well with most people, I don't think.
As to whether Cressida really cares about her cause: I suspect she does. I'm working class and know working class kids who care deeply about the environment and have participated in direct action. It is in the interest of workers of all nations to demand climate justice.
@macaroniandcheeze, way to go!
