Too similar sibling names

My daughter is Charlotte and i am expecting my second, another girl, due in October. Charlotte's middle name is Pearl and the new baby's would be Opal. I really like the name Colette and I think it goes really well with Charlotte with the similar structure but different soundings. I also like the names Chloe and Nicole but I would still strongly prefer Colette over them. Is it too similar?

Is that the best you can do? You make a ridiculous post, someone disagrees with you and you resort to this silly and childish comment?

Don't bother replying, you're a waste of time responding to.

😂😂

I had a discussion with DH and the new baby will be Cara Rose!

That’s pretty, goes well with Charlotte , complements it 😊

Yourcatisnotsorry · 22/07/2024 09:05

They sound too similar sorry. Both nice on their own.

Packetofcrispsplease · 22/07/2024 12:01

If you want to have both names start with C. How about Clara ?

Davros · 22/07/2024 13:58

Cara just doesn't go with Charlotte, they're very different types of names. And Cara is the name of a potato

But Clementine is the name of an orange and Katy is the name of an apple, and people still use them. Cara is a lovely name, means 'friend' in Irish and 'dear' in Italian, so it's not as if it's just a potato!

No sorry we want something classy and elegant!

I don’t know anyone called Collette who is classy and elegant

DH and I are set on both girls starting with C!

Why? Setting up problems down the line. Once they are old enough to have letters you’ll never know who it’s for. Which Miss C BluntSloth?
Edit: seen and responded to your comment about full names on post.

We live in an area where mail has your full name in it so its not a problem for us! My main concern is for them to have separate identities but I really love both names! If sound-wise it isnt too similar then ill go for colette.

Eh? How does any ‘area’ have this. Mail comes in from different areas with different ideas.

Lot203 · 23/07/2024 12:05

My name is Charlotte and I would not associate Colette as being like my name

What on earth? Cara is a lovely name. Colette would have been nice also.

Davros · 23/07/2024 13:23

That's what you think. It's not what I think

Goodtogossip · 30/07/2024 14:11

They are similar but sound very different. I like Colette Opal. I also like Chloe Opal. No doubt Charlotte will chose something different as she grows up, Charlie, Lottie or Charl. Be worse if Colette goes by Col & Charlotte by Charl.
