Really basic stuff I just can’t remember

Gross and Net. I can never remember which one relates to which figure and it’s especially annoying as I quite often have to discuss net and gross figures with clients. I don’t know why, I could check a thousand times and still never remember.

Same with Verbs, nouns, etc, which one is which FFS!

There are definitely other things but I’ve forgotten those too.

Gross means twelve dozen (but most people know it as a childish word for “disgusting”); in most cases, a fairly “big”
amount. So gross is big, net is smaller.

I like to amuse my pupils by telling them what gross means. “How many gross shall we deliver?”

I'm sure I have some sort of processing disorder, so nodding away to some of these. Turns out, we have Dyslexia in the family - wish I'd bloody known that before.

Like PP, I struggle to remember how many single or double letters in words like necessary & occasionally.

Another thing I have ishoos with is the pronunciation of long words Like identifying the sounds & putting them in the right places with the right emphasis. What's that called?

I have a mental block on saying phenomenal & get the n's + m mixed up

Same for me with deodorant. I also struggle with occasionally and aeroplane.

Loose & lose for me. No idea how to remember which is which.

I struggle with digital times. If someone says to me 'It's 4:53' I have to visualise it on an analogue clock otherwise I'm not sure how close it is to 5 o'clock 🫤

Oh god, sorry I didn’t mean to write this then just ignore all the responses. It’s been funny reading all the replies this morning, especially the argument about gross and net 🤣

So many people have the left and right thing.y husband definitely does. Which is really annoying when he’s trying to give me directions in the car. I’ve learnt to pretty much always go the opposite way to what he says.

Knife and fork is a new one on me though.

I did just remember another one. Left wing and right wing. It’s taken me looonng time to remember which is which. I have it now, although I do need a quick mental check each time it comes up. I find I prefer to just avoid politics in general, don’t have to worry about it then.

I have lots of these. Left v right. Times tables. How to spell diarrhea (just had to look it up, still not sure if it’s right). Republican v democrat. Am sure there’s more too!

My brain flips the signs painted on the road - so W O L S -I immediately think it’s telling me to slow down but it’s the other lane -always have to correct myself
