Vance is the perfect VP for Trump - he wants someone who will do as he’s told and not hog the limelight (see also Mike Pence, though as he DIDN’T ultimately do as he was told on Jan 6th he’s on the Most Wanted list). We know Vance will roll over like a good dog (see his previous comments on Trump for evidence of that) and Trump was never in a million years going to pick someone progressive (ie a woman or a non-white male) because that would take away attention from him and Rule #1 of Trump World is that Trump must be central to everything.

I thought that was what most presidents have wanted? They all insist that their VP is going to have a "real role", then give it a few months and many would struggle to even name them, so it's no surprise to hear it said that most end their term with a much better golf score than when they started

Presumably trump will do all he can to stop governors of individual States making rules or laws that don't line up with what he wants? Or rather he will fill all those positions with people who he knows will obey him.
