I do! And my girl "meowed" in multisyllabic "words." With different "tones of voice." It was almost like talking with another person...If I had only understood what she was saying! I have often wondered if it was because I talked with her so much, and she picked it up from me.

I too am early 40s, never married, no kids and things like this is what lead to me exiting the dating world almost 10 years ago and never looking back.

I empathise with you OP - and if I hear another person say “you are single / childless because your prioritised career too much” I will laugh and scream simultaneously! 😆😤. They do realise we can walk and chew gum at the same time right?!

The comment about flats is so weird. I much prefer flats. I have zero need nor desire for a garden. Give me a view and a nice balcony any day of the week over a house and a garden. I just I liked cats to really lean into the spinster stereotype but alas, I do not.

One of my girls (Paco) used to follow me sound the house chirping and trilling away - she was very vocal. A lovely big tubby tortoiseshell - absolutely gorgeous!
