Schoolgirls spiked my daughter’s drink with laxatives.

This is more of a WWYD I guess.

My daughter has been bullied recently at school, some physical, some verbal and this week the bullies poured laxatives into her water bottle at lunchtime and I had to leave work to collect her.

I’ve not heard anything more from the school or the parents and the children are still in school.

I’m interested to hear what you think and what you would do in this situation as this is not acceptable.

Not clear what happened.

How did they get hold of her bottle and did they literally drop the tablets into the bottle in front of her, otherwise how would she know?

Presumably she didn't drink it knowing it was contaminated so why did you have to pick her up early?

Doesn't make sense.

So they took her bottle and pour dissolvable laxatives in it and made her drink it in front of them.

they were reported and found with packets on them.

Yes she had the effects of the laxatives later that evening.

Horrible. Any evidence on texts or anything for evidence. Teacher here and this would be taken very seriously, exclusions, parents in- the lot.

What!? A case of actual bodily harm? Er, yes... 🙄

Well we don't actually know that what happened as OP hasn't been back to answer any questions regarding what actually happened.

Police report. This is drugging a person. Don't give up until something is done.

This. A crime has been committed. It is not a prank.

Is your daughter OK?

She is now thank you, but it could have been awful if she’d have had an accident in school. The forcing her to drink the laxatives is bad enough along with other bullying .

I’d definitely report this to the police - forcing someone to take medicine is surely a crime.

redalex261 · 12/07/2024 19:16

OMG the update makes it even worse! The poor girl, this is beyond nasty.

Kerning · 12/07/2024 19:16

Your poor DD, I'm so sorry this happened to her. What action has the school taken?

DillyDilly · 12/07/2024 19:17

Posted too soon -definitely report to the Police, this so very serious - forcing your daughter to drink water with laxatives in it -what will they force her to drink the next time ??

KimberleyClark · 12/07/2024 19:17

Police. These horrible little bitches need a sharp shock.

MissUltraViolet · 12/07/2024 19:17

OP have you called the police yet? Your child was drugged, what they did is criminal. I wouldn't be sending her back to school until each one of those nasty little twats were gone.

WappityWabbit · 12/07/2024 19:17

I can't believe you've not reported this matter to the police straight away.

Are you a mum or a mouse? 🤔

Drivingbuttercup · 12/07/2024 19:18

This is unbelievably poor from the school, why havent they contacted you to inform what action they are going to take.

Ballygowenwater · 12/07/2024 19:18

I’d be pulling her from the school for the rest of term and aiming to get a place elsewhere for September. Whatever punishments the bullies receive won’t ease the trauma of her having to face them again.

This is horrific. Are the school investigating this? Are you waiting to hear from them?

NotThatWitty · 12/07/2024 19:20

This is serious. Very very serious.

I agree with others - report to the police now.

Monday morning, I would be at the school as soon as it opens. In this instance I would 100% be that parent. I would insist on knowing what actions the school took to safeguard your child. If they did not inform the police themselves, I would want to know why.

How can they ensure your daughter's safety moving forward?

Until you are 100% reassured that your daughter is safe at school, please do not send her back.

I stand by my police comment then.
How old are they? I wouldn't be sending her back either, as I wouldn't feel like she'd be safe there.

buttonsB4 · 12/07/2024 19:23

Take this to the police.

If you were at work and your colleagues spiked your drink with medication and then physically forced you to drink it you'd go to the police, so why should it be any different for your child?

These bullies need to understand the severity of what they've done and I would expect expulsion for them all from school as a minimum punishment.

They do not know your daughter's medical history and as such could have done serious damage, they need to be punished severely so they don't go on to kill someone with this dangerous behaviour.

MrTiddlesTheCat · 12/07/2024 19:23

I agree with everyone else. This is absolutely a police matter.

Saracen · 12/07/2024 19:24

I would go to the police. It's assault, and it sounds like there is good evidence they did it.

JaninaDuszejko · 12/07/2024 19:25

With your update absolutely contact the police.

I do not understand why schools allow behaviour that would lose you a job as an adult but get their knickers in a twist about skirt lengths.

Mintypig · 12/07/2024 19:26

Police all day long. I wouldn’t leave this.

crumblingschools · 12/07/2024 19:27

Have they got this on CCTV?

kwetu · 12/07/2024 19:28

Police-assault.
Follow up with school/governors and LEA if they don't deal with it to your satisfaction.

shggg245 · 12/07/2024 19:28

I often work within safeguarding investigations and echo what everyone else is saying. Absolutely shocking and awful.

There needs to be a full and thorough multo agency investigation and the consequences which go with it. My heart goes out to you both.
