Schoolgirls spiked my daughter’s drink with laxatives.

This is more of a WWYD I guess.

My daughter has been bullied recently at school, some physical, some verbal and this week the bullies poured laxatives into her water bottle at lunchtime and I had to leave work to collect her.

I’ve not heard anything more from the school or the parents and the children are still in school.

I’m interested to hear what you think and what you would do in this situation as this is not acceptable.

Jesus Christ! You need to call the police.
Thats absolutely insane. Your poor daughter being drugged is an assault.

Police

It was poisoning with the added spite of hoping to humiliate her by making her shit herself in public

And she would never set foot in this school, again. I don't think she would go to any school until I was certain that they would play a role in the necessary healing that she'll need after this

I would 100% honestly file a police report for assault. How old are they?

100%

CovertPiggery · 12/07/2024 17:49

I agree with everyone who's said police.

I would expect a permanent exclusion for poisoning another pupil.

I hope your daughter is ok.

RegimentalSturgeon · 12/07/2024 17:51

Did they have clear, tasteless liquid laxatives? Otherwise surely your daughter would have noticed something.

OrwellianTimes · 12/07/2024 17:51

As above police asap this is very serious assault - I’d also call a doctor to get medical advice.

What laxative and how much? How old is your daughter?

namesnamez · 12/07/2024 17:51

Yep, police.

TonTonMacoute · 12/07/2024 17:51

Police.

Spiking is not taken anywhere near seriously enough.

Puffinfoot · 12/07/2024 17:52

When you said you had to collect her, was this because the school called you knowing what had happened or because DD was distressed? Did DD drink the water and suffer ill effects?

I'm just wondering if the school accept what happened because I don't think they'd still be in school at any school I've worked at.

LuckySantangelo35 · 12/07/2024 17:52

Police

PumpkinPie2016 · 12/07/2024 17:53

Echo what everyone else has said- I would absolutely be going to the police and I would support whatever action they wanted to take.

Your poor daughter. I would be absolutely raging if this was my son.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 12/07/2024 17:53

ouch321 · 12/07/2024 17:43

Not clear what happened.

How did they get hold of her bottle and did they literally drop the tablets into the bottle in front of her, otherwise how would she know?

Presumably she didn't drink it knowing it was contaminated so why did you have to pick her up early?

Doesn't make sense.

When she got raging diarrhoea, perhaps. Or maybe she got ill and they laughed about what they’d done to her.

I agree with all the posters who have said this should be reported to the police, @Halfordscarpark.

lateatwork · 12/07/2024 17:53

No response from the school at all? Oh wow. How awful. I wouldn't expect to be in contact with the parents.

Put in a formal complaint. Everything in writing. Start noting contact with the school. Keep your daughter at home - as it's not safe at that school.

Move schools.

Miffylou · 12/07/2024 17:54

I don’t really understand. How does she know they put laxatives in her drink? If there’s proof, why on earth haven’t the school acted on it? Sounds odd to me. Anyway, even if you just suspect it, you need to speak to the school about the bullying. If you have proof, speak to the school and tell them you’re involving the police.

Snowdrop80 · 12/07/2024 17:55

Police. And I’d come down on the school like a ton of bricks. How do you know she was spiked with laxatives? Did someone see it happen or did the girls admit to it?

catscalledbeanz · 12/07/2024 17:56

As pp have said- police first in this instance.

MrMotivatorsLeotard · 12/07/2024 17:56

Like everyone has said, I would contact police.

I would also push for expulsion for the culprits and I would not rest until that happened. I’d also raise it with the school governors.

BingoMarieHeeler · 12/07/2024 17:56

How do you know that happened and she wasn’t just ill? Did the school confirm that’s what happened? If so why didn’t you raise hell at the time? Agree police re. poisoning.

lateatwork · 12/07/2024 17:56

RegimentalSturgeon · 12/07/2024 17:51

This sounds suspiciously like you are somehow blaming the OP's daughter?

crumblingschools · 12/07/2024 17:56

People saying call the police, we don’t know how old the children are.

And saying contact OFSTED, all procedures have to have been followed before they get involved.

What have school said to you? They won’t tell what they have done with the perpetrators but should be able to tell what they have put in place which will hopefully stop this happening again.

Look at the complaints and behaviour policies on the school website. If you are putting in a complaint you need to follow the policy

Lippylemon · 12/07/2024 17:56

Absolutely call police

@crumblingschools

it doesn’t matter how old they are.

BlueMoanday · 12/07/2024 17:57

If you know for definite - Police.

crumblingschools · 12/07/2024 17:59

@LuckySantangelo35 if they are under 10yo what would you expect the police to do?
