Schoolgirls spiked my daughter’s drink with laxatives.

This is more of a WWYD I guess.

My daughter has been bullied recently at school, some physical, some verbal and this week the bullies poured laxatives into her water bottle at lunchtime and I had to leave work to collect her.

I’ve not heard anything more from the school or the parents and the children are still in school.

I’m interested to hear what you think and what you would do in this situation as this is not acceptable.

The post claims, "Schoolgirls spiked my daughter’s drink"

If it was spiked (as the headline states), then no one was "forced" to drink it because "spiking" is done without the drinker's knowledge.

If someone was forced to 'take too many laxatives,' as you say, then that does not constitute "spiking".

So which is it?

Bullying I’d say. And the police are taking it seriously.

Spiking can mean without someone’s knowledge or without their permission. Which in this case would fall under the definition. A quick google search tells you that.

How embarrassing for you to not only be so purposely obtuse about a child being badly bullied but to be so confident when you’re so incorrect. Awkward.

"What is spiking?
Spiking is a crime. The law states that

  • It is a crime to maliciously administer, cause to administer or cause to be taken by any other person any poison or destructive or noxious thing, such as to endanger their life, cause them grievous bodily harm, or intentionally injure, aggrieve, or annoy them"

All the examples given in the government factsheet state

  • "without their knowledge or permission"

In this case, the victim knew the bullies had put drugs into her drink, and drank it in full knowledge of what they had done.

But the point is they ganged up and coerced her into drinking it.

It goes on to say

"This list is not exhaustive and there are other behaviours that may be considered spiking depending on the circumstances of the case."
