So Judy Murray is astonished Emma Raducanu backed out of playing a farewell mixed doubles game with her son because she didn’t feel well that morning and wanted to prioritise her qualifying singles match the next day.

If it had been the other way round I’d be surprised if Andy didn’t do the same and Judy would have backed his decision. AIBU to think women are always called upon to sacrifice their own interests for those of men and Judy Murray is that mum!

Neither do I. I am willing to bet that all of us who are mums on this thread would have been extremely pissed off at what Emma did to Andy. I think it was a shit way to behave.

I'm sure Jamie and Andy are perfectly happy that she is their mother! She sacrificed lots to support her boys because she knew they had talent, and they have both proved that. I don't know what is irritating about a supportive mum!!

It was directed at the event organisers and schedule, or astonishing Emma would struggle when she'd been put back to back matches. The media have jumped on it, spun it and everyone is lapping up the fake drama like puppets. She does not speak for her son, where did she ever say that? She speaks as a successful professional who is extremely experienced in the circuit and clearly has a valid axe to grind with how this has been arranged. Everyone calm down. She is an exceptional example of a single mother, she has faultlessly supported her boys and it's well known they would not be there without her. So much hatred for a strong, committed female and so much fake drama from the media as usual, wake up people and stop being controlled
