MY 12 year old used my fabric scissors to open a bag of popcorn. Is there any point keeping them?

Or shall I just drop them off at the bus station with a tenner and tell them they need to make their own way in life from this point on?

Nope. Used on fabric, good ones are pretty much self sharpening but as soon as they're used on plastic or paper or random wayward pins, they're often done for.

Exactly. I've had my fabric scissors since I was 17. I'm 60 years old now. Never sharpened them. I'm sure they would never feel the same when cutting fabric if they needed sharpening. And I'd never feel the same way about them.

I’ll add to that my dad who mixed a tin of pain with my best cake palette knife.

My ex cut an electrical wire with one of my good knives. He took a chunk out of the blade. It still makes me angry more than a quarter of a century on.

Oh that’d give me the rage 🤣 my fabric scissors are up in my bedroom away from my klutz family 🤣

They might also meet the husband at the bus stop who mixes the washing and makes the whites grey. Imagine the conversations. 🤣

When mine was small they cut up some fabric for the sound/sensation. Their defence? "I did use fabric scissors, Mummy!"

I read "stuff" in Miranda Priestley's voice @Jochef & @TheChosenTwo 😎

I've had to ban DH from using my best knife because h thinks nothing of cutting through foil quiche tins with it. I'd been wondering how it was getting scratched then caught him in the act.

I can't sew at all but even I understand the seriousness of this offence OP!

I decided my Ex had to "go" after discovering they used a teaspoon for coffee.
My next partner was a colo-rectal surgeon - i've now hidden my grape scissors !!
