Invited to a sparrow's lunch

Having recently had a baby, I made friends with a neighbouring mom. We went together to vote today and she invited me over for lunch. We'll... lesson learned.

The lunch consisted of a kraft cheese slice between 2 slices of bread, crustless and cut in two between us, 5 grapes each, a custard cream and a cup of tea that just about reached middle of a cup to a generous eye.

She's categorically NOT struggling with money. Fridge was in the full view and well stocked. Looking at her you'd never guess she's sparrow minded when it comes to food. We both EBF.

Why then invite me to lunch? I don't even know how to reciprocate without either causing offence or spending 2 hours chatting, starving and trying to breastfeed? Was she trying to get a point across???

What a horrible woman.

Another frustrating thread where people don't look at (a) the date of the OP (4th July in this case) and (b) the number of posts on the thread (304 before mine), never mind reading all the OP's posts. What is the point in repeating what hundreds of others have already said? Why waste your own time in this way? It baffles me.

That's awful OP. She didn't come across well in the original sparrow's lunch but I'm shocked at how badly she behaved at yours.

Better to find out now I suppose so you can steer well clear.. a very harsh lesson for you.

Try making a paste of baking soda and water and leaving it on the stain.

If that doesn’t work contact your local specialist carpet/upholstery cleaning service. My local service charged £25 to remove stains from my carpet.

To add insult to the injury, the other mum just sent me a screenshot of the messages where the original lady complained the salsa was from sainsbury's and not from m&s.

I’m afraid that I’d have had to message her and tell her that I didn’t appreciate her additional guests I wasn’t told about, her sister leaving your bathroom in a state and your candle being broken. I’d send a link for a replacement (clearly you’ll never get one but it’s the principle) and stop seeing her.

People carry on like this because no one ever challenges them.

I presume you’ll text her asking if the Kraft cheese slice and ten grapes from her lunch were from M&S.

If this is true why don't you just confront her? She is rude and obviously has no respect for you so why not tell her how it is? People can be so wet.
