Anyone else sick of the Tories and Labour and will be voting reform?

Not the party for me. But you vote how you want OP. Some Labour voters think everyone else is a moron who doesn't share their views (these are the MN vibes at times) and I think they make it very hard to view the party in a positive light.

However, I can imagine there are shouty sorts across all parties but the Labour voters are super aggressive this time. I do think the voters cloud the good of the party, sometimes.

I would look to Lib Dem before you make a final decision, most likely where I'm going, don't go main parties for sure as they are as bad as each other. I would not judge anyone on how they voted unless National Front type parties.

DoggerelBank · 30/06/2024 11:52

OP, have you tried this quiz? It might help you check which party's policies you're most aligned to, rather than voting Reform as a protest vote. As others have said, there are other, less dangerous, alternatives to the two main parties.

If you truly believe that the BBC is ultra left-wing, then Reform is your natural home. It beggars belief that anyone would think that, but anyway . . .

Acapulco12 · 30/06/2024 11:52

SnakesAndArrows · 30/06/2024 11:48

Where do you get the idea that the BBC are ultra-left? Absolutely bizarre. They parade Farage all the time and are largely responsible for Boris Johnson’s rise to power.

Actually, I disagree. Mainly because I think their journalists - particularly Mishal Husain and Laura Kuenssberg, and Evan Davis - do a very good job of being equally forensic and probing when they interview politicians from the left and the right.

MsJinks · 30/06/2024 11:53

I’ve asked before on another thread - what do you want from your vote? I choose on which manifesto appeals to me most, track record, potential ability to achieve manifesto. I also hope the party I vote for either gets into power (as I like their manifesto), or sufficient seats to get their views raised/debated in parliament.
Are people voting for Reform similar? Even when identifying it is a protest vote? Or just to annoy the main parties? Do you want them in power? Note Farage likes how Putin operates, which indicates more authoritarian government style would be ushered in over time probably leaving less room in future for any protest. Do we want to lose that right?
Their manifesto big point that is mentioned mainly couldn’t be achieved how has been suggested, ‘returning’ small boat folk to France is impossible, it’s effectively potentially declaring war as well. Not clear on a plan for actual illegal migrants (I am sticking with calling small boat arrivals asylum seekers like much of the world), so that is a gap that must ge a concern?. I think they aim to net zero legal migration which will deeply impact many areas of U.K. economy and health/social care.
The main one I’m not sure why it is appealing is the privatisation of NHS, as it will most likely be to a US for profit type system under Reform- this benefits only insurance companies tbh and would impact the majority of U.K. citizens adversely.
Reducing welfare will impact the vulnerable removal of Equality Act alongside leaving ECHR would impact women, disabled, in fact most but the alpha rich white male (that Andrew Tate aspires to be).
So which of these ‘policies’ are Reform voters wanting to see? And more importantly why? If you just want to shake up labour/conservative are you hoping they too start considering Reform’s current policies?

First they came for the Communists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Communist
Then they came for the Socialists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Socialist
Then they came for the trade unionists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a trade unionist
Then they came for the Jews
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Jew
Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me

So no. I won't be voting for extremists, ever.

Hahahahahahaha. IF ONLY someone would come for the communists.

TinklySnail · 30/06/2024 11:53

You vote for whichever party you want. If Reform is that party then vote for them.

pandasorous · 30/06/2024 11:53

Despair132 · 30/06/2024 10:58

Is it funny you cry toxic masculinity but when you’re in danger who would you rather come to save you a toxic masculine man or a guy who is afraid of violence? The hypocrisy is so obvious.

if I'm in danger, I'm going to save myself.

and toxic men are usually the danger that women face

ClawdeenWolf · 30/06/2024 11:54

The BBC is ultra left wing? Don't make me laugh. I'll be glad when the election is over and this ridiculous bullshit isn't trotted out in ever more transparent attempts to sway votes.

If you want to vote Reform OP, then do it. But don't come here with your sanctimony. You're a racist.

NotAllowed · 30/06/2024 11:54

I’m voting for them.

FeelingHotHotHotFeelingHotHotHot · 30/06/2024 11:54

I am not going to badmouth and diss people who want to vote for Reform, as I know not all of them are thick bigoted racists. I do believe a good number are badly informed and a bit clueless about them though.

I believe many wanting to vote for Reform, are people who have had enough of handouts being given to other countries, and that Reform will 'Stop the Boats' et al..., And they are seeing this juicy carrot being dangled in front of them promising to 'claim our country back' (pretty sure we still have it but there ya go!)

However, whilst people are championing Reform, and are excited about a new right wing power taking over and stopping all the 'woke shite' and the 'leftyism' (that's a word really it is!) Grin what they are not thinking about is how horribly right wing (and sexist) this party is. Women will be kept down, and will lose all sorts of rights if Reform have their way. They are old fashioned misogynists! Some are worried about Labour thinking a man can dress as a woman and be treated like a woman with no questions asked. But some people are not worried about Reform?

Nigel Farage is a fan of Andrew Tate! FFS!!! ANDREW TATE! He is one of the vilest, most repugnant misogynists on the planet. And old Nige says he is going to push 100s of 1000s of people back into work. Does that include people with disabilities (invisible ones too?!) People in power who hate women, also hate people with disabilities...AND they tend to hate poor people too.

We don't know what horrors will arise from Reform being in power. They are too extreme. AND Nigel supports bloody PUTIN! And did you HEAR the comments one of his minions made about Rishi Sunak? Called him a vile racist slur. THIS is the kind of people you are voting for. That man got fired, but there are plenty more like him in REFORM!!!

People need to really think seriously before voting for Reform. The UK will be a terrible place to live - especially for women - under Reform. Just don't. PLEASE. I would rather the Tories stayed in than have Reform at the helm.

TinklySnail · 30/06/2024 11:56

Ob look, someone else who brands every reform voter as a racist.

Sirzy · 30/06/2024 11:56

If you’re voting for them because you genuinely think what they are offering is best for the country then carry on, I don’t agree with your beliefs but that’s democracy.

if your voting for them as some sort of protest against Starmer and Sunak then please make sure you realise what your voting for before making the final decision. There are others parties out there too!

Dontgonearthecastle · 30/06/2024 11:58

MeadowL · 30/06/2024 10:59

A big problem today is that a lot of people get their news from ultra left wing organisations like the BBC and they become indoctrinated and they brand anyone different as a racist or facist.

The rhetoric here is frightening.

The "left wing press"? Sounds like any NSDAP reference to the Communist press in 1920s Germany - the Lügenpresse.

Listen to yourself. Educate yourself.

Don't fall for "us Vs them".

As far as Reform go we are ALL inferior to the white, middle aged, wealthy man. If you're not one of them then you're the enemy.

There are plenty of other choices that are not Labour or Conservative.

Toooldforthis36 · 30/06/2024 11:58

Don’t be daft the BBC is not ultra left wing 🤣🤣🤣

Edited

Oh they do have some great staff, and I do not think they are a right wing organisation either. But their over-exposure of Farage and Johnson over the last 15 or so years proves they are not left wing (and certainly not ultra left) as previously claimed.

samarrange · 30/06/2024 12:00

Bloom15 · 30/06/2024 11:42

Perfect analogy!

I wouldn't vote for Reform if they were the only 'party' available

If they ever won a majority they probably would be the only party available from then on.

Marmunia10667 · 30/06/2024 12:00

I'll be voting Reform.

Figgygal · 30/06/2024 12:00

If your values align with their hateful rhetoric then crack on op
Take a look at yourself seriously.

Is it funny you cry toxic masculinity but when you’re in danger who would you rather come to save you a toxic masculine man or a guy who is afraid of violence? The hypocrisy is so obvious.

Would you rather be married to a toxically masculine man or one who is non-violent? Hmm… choices, choices.

That's like saying I'm sick of pasta and potatoes, I'm going to rub my face in shit instead

This is perfect.

SnapdragonToadflax · 30/06/2024 12:03

You a free to vote for Reform if you want to.

Everyone is free to judge you for it.

oatmilk4breakfast · 30/06/2024 12:03

They are fascists, so no. They also lie to people, so no.

EleanorMc67 · 30/06/2024 12:03

The BBC is centrist - & while The Tories were threatening it, it veered to the right. It is as far from ultra left wing as it's possible to be! You're reading the wrong things. Please come to your senses - don't vote for the hate & division & bigotry that Reform stands for.
