YANBU. Vote for whoever you want. If you see Reform as a realistic prospect for government, there's probably no hope for you anyway.

Mouswife · 30/06/2024 11:33

It’s democracy and you should vote for who represents your interests and your views. Everyone should vote for the party they align with, and don’t let anyone bully you otherwise.

At last, a sensible post.

CurlewKate · 30/06/2024 11:37

@Despair132 Sources, please.

EasternStandard · 30/06/2024 11:38

tennesseewhiskey1 · 30/06/2024 11:33

Vote for who you want - I won’t be voting for them.

Same to this

ArabellaFishwife · 30/06/2024 11:38

I don't understand why you're asking. Do you doubt that you're making a rational choice? You don't need the approval of the majority, who will profoundly disagree with you.
Farage and his Reform company are full of shit, and no less dangerous for that. So yes, I think you'd be making an unreasonable choice. But that's not anyone else's call to make for you.

Respectfully, it's this name-calling that makes people go the other way.
I firmly believe it was the Remain camp that actually helped secure a Brexit victory!
Wouldn't be remotely surprised if the same happened this election...

It’s funny because your liberal socialist kind are happy until you run out of other peoples money. The world doesn’t run on kindness and compassion. People have to work to make society function and if you have a large population of newcomers who are unable to work coming with their dependants. 4.3 million people in last few years is it a wonder why people are not able to get appointments all over the country. Tel you what fine let’s take the current situation to its logical conclusion what do you think people who have been claiming government assistance will vote for in future more of the same? Once the tipping point is reached which I would argue already has with not enough homes being built children not being able to afford to get on housing ladder. No dentists access at all up and down country. Crime increases strangely mostly around high illega migrant population areas. Btw this is before you mention that the new arrivals in 3 years have been 90% single men. You keep voting with your feelings and watch what happens to the country.

The vast majority of immigrants are legal immigrants coming in to work. The ones who are prevented from working are asylum seekers, which is admittedly stupid but not their fault. The numbers are nothing like what you think they are.

Have you thought about why there aren't enough homes being built? It's because the construction industry cannot get the necessary labour, and the reason for that is that Brexit stopped immigration from Eastern Europe. The same problems arise in farming, care, hospitality, roadbuilding, the water industries, etc etc. We need more immigration, not less.

Silviasilvertoes · 30/06/2024 11:40

I’m hoping this is a wind-up and OP is being provocative, but the fact is there are people out there who will vote Reform, just as they did UKIP. As PPs have said, the whole point of a democracy is that you can vote for who you like, but that doesn’t make Reform’s views okay.

Reform UK PLC is not going to win the election!

That's like saying I'm sick of pasta and potatoes, I'm going to rub my face in shit instead

Perfect analogy!

I wouldn't vote for Reform if they were the only 'party' available

oakleaffy · 30/06/2024 11:44

Reform say they ''Will stop the boats''

HOW?!!! -TheTories certainly haven't.

People smuggling is too lucrative for any party to be able to ''Stop''.

The people who died appalling deaths suffocating in locked containers or drowning at sea will continue to happen.

Just another Farage Fib, like how they sold Brexit to the voters -and there are more people smugglers cashing in like never before.

NHS hasn't benefitted from '' Millions saved'' by Brexit, either.

Chartreux · 30/06/2024 11:45

Barleysugar86 · 30/06/2024 11:35

The leaflet through our door says they want to turn around boats in the Channel and send them back to France. People- children- drown on those boats. The premise that they get rescued if we find them is the bare minimum of civilized people surely. I feel like anyone choosing Reform must be quite hateful sorry.

I'm fascinated by this one. Farage's answer to the question of what happens if the French won't take them back is to send in the Royal Marines. He admits he hasn't talked to the Marines about that, nor has he thought about the consequences of mounting an invasion on foreign soil. It's basically just a soundbite that he knows he can never follow through on, but he knows that his gullible followers will lap it up.

Is it funny you cry toxic masculinity but when you’re in danger who would you rather come to save you a toxic masculine man or a guy who is afraid of violence? The hypocrisy is so obvious.

We need toxic masculinity to save us from toxic masculinity?

Have you thought this through?

Ginmonkeyagain · 30/06/2024 11:47

What I don't get is the hard on people like Reform and their supporters have for treating immigrants (legal and illegal) so poorly. It is possible to have a controlled immigration system that isn't dehumanising, inept and inhumane.

Chartreux · 30/06/2024 11:47

Despair132 · 30/06/2024 11:01

Right….. yep very dangerous… you keep believing what your told to believe.

I always think it's fascinating that people who claim to be ultra-patriotic aren't patriotic enough to use English language properly.

ginasevern · 30/06/2024 11:48

Everyone's wasting their breath. The OP has surely read their manifesto and seen the countless news articles. If not, she's the only person in the country who doesn't know what they are and what they stand for. It's a democracy and Reform obviously aligns with her values.

SnakesAndArrows · 30/06/2024 11:48

MeadowL · 30/06/2024 10:59

A big problem today is that a lot of people get their news from ultra left wing organisations like the BBC and they become indoctrinated and they brand anyone different as a racist or facist.

Where do you get the idea that the BBC are ultra-left? Absolutely bizarre. They parade Farage all the time and are largely responsible for Boris Johnson’s rise to power.

Amisilli · 30/06/2024 11:49

No, because I don't blame all my problems on people who look different from me!

CoffeeWithMyOxygen · 30/06/2024 11:50

MeadowL · 30/06/2024 10:16

No, because I’m not racist.

eaglebeagle24 · 30/06/2024 11:50

No, because I despise Nigel Farage and racists!

Acapulco12 · 30/06/2024 11:51

Dontgonearthecastle · 30/06/2024 10:20

First they came for the Communists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Communist
Then they came for the Socialists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Socialist
Then they came for the trade unionists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a trade unionist
Then they came for the Jews
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Jew
Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me

So no. I won't be voting for extremists, ever.

This is the perfect reminder of exactly why we need to stand against Reform.

In my view, they - and the Tories - are weaponising immigration and asylum seekers just like previous populist parties made an enemy out of certain groups in society (as mentioned in the poem you’ve posted). Nigel Farage is a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

Greentapemeasure · 30/06/2024 11:51

I’d rather spoil my ballot that actively support reform.

CowTown · 30/06/2024 11:52

Hell no. I like to think of myself as someone who, if I were a 1930s German, I would have voted against, not for, the nationalist Nazi party. I hold myself to a higher standard than that.

Dontcallmescarface · 30/06/2024 11:52

Why would you want to vote for a party whose leader wasn't voted in and whose manifesto/contract was not put to the vote either? For all the talk of "democracy" they haven't shown much of it thus far.
