No it isn't, it's full of posters saying "At least X party know what a woman is!" like it's a very clever thing to say and they're the first to say it as some kind of gotcha.

It happened on a thread yesterday where the OP had already stated she wasn't voting Labour in the first post.

Flamme · 30/06/2024 17:08

I find Farage really creepy. I always feel I would have to have a very good scrub all over if I was anywhere in his vicinity.

TizerorFizz · 30/06/2024 17:04

@Flairswoo A handful of seats won’t be a coalition of anything. Do you think Reform will be kingmakers? No one else seems to think that who is looking at polling data. Do you not think Labour will have an absolute majority?

You're not in Scotland then? The Scottish Greens hold the SNP minority government to ransom and until very recently held ministerial position. The damage the Greens have done is terrifying.

CKL987 · 30/06/2024 17:09

You've given no reason why to choose them if you don't like the Tories. Voting for them as protest vote is just fucking stupid. Read all of the manifestos and if you still think they are best and you are racist and fascist then fill your boots and vote for them.

You can't be in a coalition if you come second in a few constituencies. The issue just isn't going to arise, in any event, unless it's some sort of opposition coalition.

Oh yeah, plenty of people I know have been talking about them too. And the comments about them - and their avid supporters - have not been favourable.

If you are a woman and you're voting for Reform - shame on you. Also, you clearly know cluck-all about them if you're voting for them (and you're a woman!) They are VERY misogynistic!

They support Trump, Putin, and Andrew Tate, and they hate anyone not born in the UK. (And some people who WERE! See Rishi Sunak!) How can you seriously consider voting for them? If you vote for Reform, I don't know how you can ever look at yourself in the mirror again.

They won't win. I doubt they will get more than 1 or 2 seats. Then Farage can slither back under the rock he came from under - and stay there!

What do you mean "they support Andrew Tate"? Is this in their manifesto? Or do you mean some individual candidates are Tate fans? If that's the measuring stick you're using, I could dig up plenty of anti-Semites in the Labour party and say "Labour it anti-semitic".

VolvoFan · 30/06/2024 17:15

I'm sick to the back teeth of modern politics in all complete honesty. I am voting, but not for any left-wing party.

Hobbesmanc · 30/06/2024 17:16

Judging the tone of a couple of posters, I'd hazard a guess they're teenage boys playing bait the mumsnetters.

It would be silly to dismiss Reform. They do tap into some legitimate concerns that maybe the other parties are swerving. Doesn't stop them being rabid toxic haters.

Love this specious argument how the BBC and museums and libraries are controlled by the left. Ignoring that the mainstream print media, big business and finance. The army. Police. Public schools are much more powerful and more likely to lean right.

StrawberryWater · 30/06/2024 17:17

I would rather cut my own feet off and watch a hoard of wild boar feasting on them than vote for Reform.

The police used to be more right, when it employed mainly ex-servicemen. Now it predominantly employs graduates and has become really very left-wing.

TizerorFizz · 30/06/2024 17:19

@IHaveNeverLivedintheCastle So who, in the Uk, is going to join with the Conservatives to have more seats than Labour?Labour could get 400 seats!

How can you actually think this is the same scenario as the Scottish Parliament? You need to understand a bit more about maths. Labour will get more seats than all the others put together. In Scotland, the SNP did not, hence needing the Greens. Can you see the difference?

AllyCart · 30/06/2024 17:19

MeadowL · 30/06/2024 12:27

Reform are going to surprise a lot of people.

Everyone I know is talking about them.

"Everyone I know is talking about them."

I'm not sure this says what you think it says about you.

rainingsnoring · 30/06/2024 17:20

cardibach · 30/06/2024 14:47

It may be that Labour will make some small improvements, although I have seen no signs of this as yet
ummm…@rainingsnoring they aren't in power. How can they make changes?

All the polls suggest that they will be in power within a week!

AllTheChaos · 30/06/2024 17:20

SomersetBrie · 30/06/2024 15:59

The post you are responding to was very reasonable and not inflammatory like some on this thread.
Why do you want to shut people up who disagree with you?
And how do you expect Reform to shut the borders? I know their supporters want them to, but how do you see this working in reality?

Why they will build a wall of course! In the sea, with doors for OUR boats. Maybe they’ll even get the EU to pay for it?!

Castleview6 · 30/06/2024 17:22

Absolutely because I think that voting for racist misogynists who support Putin is a great idea.

have you noticed there are other parties to vote for? Or do you like the idea of right wing extreme it’s running the government?

ForKeenDeer · 30/06/2024 17:22

Despair132 · 30/06/2024 11:01

Right….. yep very dangerous… you keep believing what your told to believe.

He recently did a video on his boat. Smoking a cigar with 2 beautiful incredibly young girls rubbing his back, giving him a massage and spouting out how rich he is. He is an awful role model, disgusting. How can any woman like him? Vile Party, vile role models.

Canthave2manycats · 30/06/2024 17:25

Anyone voting Reform is let's try to put it politely, very foolish.

magentarain · 30/06/2024 17:25

I think a lot of people on MN actually don't know what Fascism is. Maybe they've heard people on the Left shouting "Fascist!" at someone they too dislike, and are copying them because it sounds good. I'd urge you to do some research into what Fascism actually is before blithely throwing it around at everyone you disagree with.

Ah yes, all gobby, outspoken women are left wing. Right wing ladies on the other hand are all fragrant flowers, who shut up and let their menfolk do the talking..

TheGander · 30/06/2024 17:27

Picture below is from France and a comment on those who say they will vote Rassemblement National ( Marine Le Pens extreme right party) because they’ve tried everything else and it hasn’t worked. It says “we also haven’t tried this yet”. That’s how I’d feel voting for Farage.

This is unfair. People aren't voting for Reform because they're just a random, untried experiment they'd like to have a play with. Otherwise, why aren't people voting for the Greens on the same scale? Or any othe rparty that's never been in power?
People are voting for them because they think that migration should be brought back to net levels, so that our services are not under so much pressure. Because they're a low-tax party that wants to incentivise even lower paid jobs and encourage people to start businesses. Because they want to switch to a completely different health system that is proven to work better, etc...

You're basically assuming that because people disagree with you, they're stupid. This attitude is what makes the Left so dangerous.

Yes. But you say you haven’t seen sign of them improving things YET. Unsurprising since they haven’t had a chance to try.
