Reform are going to surprise a lot of people.

Everyone I know is talking about them.

Oh yeah, plenty of people I know have been talking about them too. And the comments about them - and their avid supporters - have not been favourable.

If you are a woman and you're voting for Reform - shame on you. Also, you clearly know cluck-all about them if you're voting for them (and you're a woman!) They are VERY misogynistic!

They support Trump, Putin, and Andrew Tate, and they hate anyone not born in the UK. (And some people who WERE! See Rishi Sunak!) How can you seriously consider voting for them? If you vote for Reform, I don't know how you can ever look at yourself in the mirror again.

They won't win. I doubt they will get more than 1 or 2 seats. Then Farage can slither back under the rock he came from under - and stay there!

Not sure that is appropriate given the allegations against Justin.
Lostprophets next maybe?

Justin who? And what has someone called Justin got to do with a poem written by Martin Niemoller?

Samthedog71717 · 30/06/2024 16:47

@kitsuneghost how did you get on to Justin from Lost Prophets the words are by and anti fascist campaigner Martin Niemoller.

Butchyrestingface · 30/06/2024 16:41

I'M talking about them. I'm saying they're a shower of cunts.

Hardly a ringing endorsement.

I see reform as a bit like the Norsefire political party in the film v for vendetta.

MadKittenWoman · 30/06/2024 16:51

MeadowL · 30/06/2024 10:59

A big problem today is that a lot of people get their news from ultra left wing organisations like the BBC and they become indoctrinated and they brand anyone different as a racist or facist.

Hahahahahaha!

Is it funny you cry toxic masculinity but when you’re in danger who would you rather come to save you a toxic masculine man or a guy who is afraid of violence? The hypocrisy is so obvious.

That's a false dichotomy.

Half the country? I'm not following...

Well, since Labour don't know what a woman is, a vote for them is a vote for men only.

TizerorFizz · 30/06/2024 16:56

@Flairswoo As UKIP found, chatting and winning a seat aren’t the same thing. Coming second gets you nowhere. Millions of votes but coming second gets you nowhere. This is very possible.

Was supposed to be a bit of cheeky joke.
Justin is from anti flag, not lostprophets.

I don't think most people have a clue how economically libertarian that party is.
I've always found it a bit jarring when some equate what appear to be a bunch of rather old-school, cheesy 'gin and Jags' type of Tories with actual fascism.

What do you think is possible wrt a coalition?

cheekycheekshiyah · 30/06/2024 17:00

mumsnet seems very pro labour and very anti reform. I’d say vote what makes sense to you but I’d also say vote for your local candidate rather than the big guy at the top. What policies are you actually supporting and wanting? I would not waste a vote to punish any one as you may support something you don’t know

Pro-Labour? I don't think we're reading the same forum.

Where have you read this, if you look at their manifesto it says they want to adopt a French style health service

Use Independent Healthcare Capacity
We will harness independent and not-for-profit health provision in the UK and overseas.
Tax Relief of 20% on all Private Healthcare and Insurance
This will improve care for all by relieving pressure on the NHS. Those who rely on the NHS will enjoy faster, better care. Independent healthcare capacity will grow rapidly, providing competition and reducing costs.
.Thereafter:
Put Patients in Charge With a New NHS Voucher Scheme
NHS Patients will receive a voucher for private treatment if they can’t see a GP within 3 days. For a consultant it would be 3 weeks. For an operation, 9 weeks. Services will always be free at the point of use.
Improve Efficiency. Cut Waste and Unnecessary Managers
Operating theatres must be open on weekends. Rotas must be planned further in advance. Nail down better prices using economies of scale. Review all NHS Private Finance Contracts for significant savings potential. Charge those who fail to attend medical appointments without notice. Abolish the NHS Race and Health Observatory.

Which part is adopting a French style health care service?
Operating theatre are open on weekends.
What does it mean rotas must be planned in advance?
NHS already has large buying power - thus the much cheaper medicines in UK than in USA - even though the medicine is coming from the USA in some cases. How much will it cost to charge those who fail to attend medical appointments, will it cost more than it receives?
If I receive a voucher for private treatment will that guarantee me seeing a gp, consultant or getting an operation with 9 weeks? Its the same doctors that work for both NHS and private, so switching to private will surely just create private waiting list as there will not be more doctors

@Flairswoo A handful of seats won’t be a coalition of anything. Do you think Reform will be kingmakers? No one else seems to think that who is looking at polling data. Do you not think Labour will have an absolute majority?

TizerorFizz · 30/06/2024 17:06

Who’s that gobby person called? Ah yes, Farage.
