@Itsprobablynotcominhome oh, I don't know, because you quoted the poster's response to me which included my tag, perhaps?????

@SlothOnARope

Labour are likely to win.

Of course, and given the current tragic state of politics, nationally that's probably a good thing.

But a big increase in Green voters sends a message that people care about the environment.

Post-election, when the Greens have more attention, the public can start telling them that the batshit policies have to go.

HNY2023 · 30/06/2024 18:47

Labour vote here

I cannot have the immoral Tory party in government. I will never forgive Boris and Matt Hancock for the way they behaved in Covid.

To be fair the labour candidate here is very good …. So he would have my vote for what he wants for the area. The Tory mp we have is a nice enough guy but hasn’t a clue …. He’s achieved not very much since he was voted in!

NextPhaseOfLife · 30/06/2024 18:50

I was strongly considering Green, @SlothOnARope but their manifesto also includes campaigning for the right for self-identification.

It's buried quite deep in their information and I was really disappointed because up until that point, I did feel I had a party I could vote for.

If you do a bit of research into the Green Party in the area of self identification over the past few years, I think you'll be shocked at what you find.

SlothOnARope · 30/06/2024 18:56

I get that, @NextPhaseOfLife, but the Greens won't be governing nationally and won't get enough support for batshit/unpopular policies.

It's just that, no matter how many voters spoil their ballots, someone is going to get elected. It's just a question of by how much, because that's what will make the difference going forward.

AliTheMinx · 30/06/2024 20:00

Lib Dem for me.
Have voted Tory and Labour in the past, but so disappointed in the mess the Tories have left the country in and horrified at Labour's plans for private schools. The Lib Dem manifesto makes the most sense and our local candidate seems to have the most initiative and humanity. I think that Reform and the Lib Dens will do better than predicted, but sadly I think we're heading towards a Labour government.

dreamerz · 30/06/2024 20:05

Tories. Labour don't seem to be able to protect women's only spaces. They can't answer a simple question. And if they can't even say what a biological woman is then they won't get more challenging tasks right like the nhs and tax

AuntieSoap · 30/06/2024 20:23

Lib Dem. They're the only challengers to the Tories where I am, plus I like the candidate, and I agree with many of their policies

cardibach · 30/06/2024 20:27

Heatherbell1978 · 30/06/2024 18:31

Lib Dem. First time not voting Labour. I believe strongly in voting for the best party for society and not my own interests but I can't on this occasion. Starmer defines working families as those who rely on public services. It's made me realise that I'm just not in the demographic he cares about. And could never vote Tory.

You don’t rely on the NHS? Policing? The Fire Service? The Courts? State schools (even if your kids go private, you must realise most of the people you’ll rely on are state educated?)? Refuse collection? And so on and on… nobody can say they don’t rely on public services. What are you thinking he meant that you don’t agree with?

cardibach · 30/06/2024 20:30

NextPhaseOfLife · 30/06/2024 18:37

@Onomatofear At the very minimum, the conservatives know that being able to state the definition of a biological woman is a differentiator for them.

It's one that is vitally important to me. I can not vote for a party that cares so little about the value of my very biology.

Do you think they are stating it because they believe it and intend to legislate for it (if so why haven’t they already?) Or is it more likely they are saying it because it gets them a few votes from gullible people?

Bluebellsinthewind · 30/06/2024 20:36

I used to vote SNP but won't be again. Totally undecided for this GE.

Will be staying up all night to watch. It honestly wouldn't surprise me if Conservative get voted back in. In Scotland think Labour will get in.

HairyChin · 30/06/2024 20:42

BadBarry · 29/06/2024 21:28

Conservatives, there is no better alternative in my opinion.
That's not to say I think conservatives are a good option I just think the others are worse.

Agree with this.

Labour will be a disaster again; people have very selective memories.

I hadn't seen that one... just how many of these perverted "women" are there?

Nope. Life was much better under the last Labour government. Anyone thinking Tories aren’t worse has selective memory. Parties. Proroguing Parliament illegally. Lying. Tractor porn. Liz Truss. And on and on.

MyCleverGrayBear · 30/06/2024 20:49

It's a close call where I am between LibDem and Tory here. One of them will win. I'm voting Tory with very mixed feelings. But on balance I'd rather Rishi than Keir.

I'd actually much prefer the Lib Dem candidate locally, but I'm thinking nationally.

I'm not telling anyone IRL who I'm voting for.

TheNestedIf · 30/06/2024 21:05

Spoilt ballot paper.

I was previously a Labour supporter, but I won't vote for them now or ever whilst Starmer is in charge because of the ducking and diving around women's rights. Also, the incumbent Labour MP in this constituency wants to ban therapy for children questioning their gender identity, labelling it as "conversion therapy", as if fucking about with their endocrine system and chopping bits off them for a mental health issue is better, especially when a lot of them desist.

I saw the Party Of Women mentioned upthread. If they put forward a candidate here, I would vote for them.

Far far far too many, and everyone is pandering to them and it needs to stop.

Maybe all the people who are emailing their candidates should illustrate their emails with photos!

HangryBeaver · 30/06/2024 21:38

Labour. Don't love their platform but it's hard to be more radical given the dire state of the economy.

It’s quite clear, Tories have done nothing about it, Labour have no intention of doing anything about it.

🤷‍♂️

HangryBeaver · 30/06/2024 21:49

StarmersAbsoluteTwaddle · 30/06/2024 14:04

Starmer and Phillipson, amongst others, have made clear in TV interviews in the last week that the reason they’ve been wanging on about ‘women’s safe spaces’ instead of ‘single sex spaces’ is because they intend for males with a GRC to be allowed into those spaces. While also making it easier to obtain a GRC in the first place.

They have ignored the issues pointed out to them about this, around women’s safety, privacy and dignity. They have ignored the fact that many women do not want this. They are hellbent on imposing it regardless

After all, what does it matter if a few more women are raped each year? What does it matter if religious women can no longer go swimming? What does it matter if young teen girls have to change next to a naked intact male? Fuck them, they’re only women and their safety is as nothing against the hurt feelings of a few males.

You are lying.

Starmer was quite clear that Labour supports the provisons in the Equality Act that allows for people with gender recognition certificates to be excluded from single sex spaces.
