There's so much shit everywhere

There are so many feral horrible dogs pissing on front doors or prams or shop displays and barking terrifyingly at kids

I am sick of them!!!!! Is this it or will people learn their post COVID lesson and only get pets they can actually handle in the future?

Do I feel " brainwashed" into accepting a dog into my home?

Nah I just like it.

Those who are brainwashed don't realise they are brainwashed.

ICanNeverRememberPasswords · 25/07/2024 11:52

sunglassesonthetable · 25/07/2024 11:37

don't think it is unrealistic to change the way people think about dogs, and promote better health and mental health through other ways, more human social relations, NOT relying on another species for comfort and exercise.

Not unrealistic?

Keep going @ICanNeverRememberPasswords .

You may have extreme views about a species that have been domesticated for millennia - so be it. You're entitled to them of course.

But yep it's VERY UNREALISTIC 😂

Many things were deemed great/acceptable for many years (smoking indoors (at work! In the cinema! In hospital!!!), women not having the vote, slavery) but times have changed. Dogs are going to be a thing of the past in years to come. I just wish it would hurry up.

sunglassesonthetable · 25/07/2024 11:54

That's thousands of years of socialisation for you!😂👍🏻

BIossomtoes · 25/07/2024 11:56

I bet my house they won’t.

Yep times HAVE changed. They are MORE widely accepted. As the constant complaining on here attests to.

There are more dogs owned in the UK in the last few years.

They might become more regulated but banned?

You are barking 😉 up the wrong tree here.

LilBowWow · 25/07/2024 12:03

The dog dislikers seem to get really annoyed if people don’t agree with them. They get more and more irate and irrational. Not even being facetious when I say I think they’d get an awful lot out of having a dog in their lives.

sunglassesonthetable · 25/07/2024 12:06

Also @ICanNeverRememberPasswords are you going to tell the farmers, police, border police, hospitals ( comfort animals) , old people's homes( comfort animals), army , Dogs for the Blind, Mountain Rescue, Game Keepers etc?

NRTFT · 25/07/2024 12:15

There are way too many dogs.

It seems to be an attachment problem English people have. Perhaps English people just don't have the social skills to get on with other humans properly?

I went to a local beauty spot on the South Coast yesterday which is a 4 mile round walk. The other walkers were mainly Asian, probably about 200 walkers in 50/100 separate groups. None of them were walking with dogs.

It was so refreshing. I'll definitely be going back!

It's not working dogs people have a problem with.

It's the sheer amount of poor pointless dogs that just have a rubbish life accompanying some socially inept human that can't seem to survive without a foolishly loyal and dependent mute animal at their side at all times.

sunglassesonthetable · 25/07/2024 12:21

😂😂😂😂👌🏼

Honestly this thread is a dream.

Because lots of other nations don't love their dogs?

And people who like dogs " don't get on with other humans properly "

Honestly you couldn't make it up.

vodkaredbullgirl · 25/07/2024 12:23

@ICanNeverRememberPasswords You are barking mad lol

@NRTFT

Well not if you read Passwords comments. They are waiting/expecting ' dogs' to be banned. ( As slavery was ) I was replying to directly to them tbh

halava · 25/07/2024 12:30

@NRTFT I think you've nailed it here.

it seems to be an attachment problem English people have. Perhaps English people just don't have the social skills to get on with other humans properly?

Those who resist any points made about the scourge of dogs in the community and who constantly fill the Bingo card with "irresponsible owners, not the dog's fault" must be in dire need of human contact to see how irrational it is to never see the blight that the "dogs allowed everywhere" groups support.

I am in constant pain due to being knocked over by a dog in the local park. Then all the other dogs came over to see how I was, it was terribly frightening, all off lead of course in a walkers area, when the dog run was 500metres away. Oh no, not good enough, the dog must be in the middle of humans without dogs, of course, it's their right. I defy anyone to convince me that dogs in parks, restaurants, shops and god knows where is good for anyone apart from those who may not be able to forge normal relationships with humans and see humans as superior beings to dogs.

Working dogs on farms, in the Customs/Drug enforcement areas, for the blind, and other genuine assistance requirements etc. are all that are needed. Fully trained and do a job. Great. Dogs were not made for urban environments, there are far too many people there as it is, not to mind adding every species of dog to the mix aswell.

Off to take my painkillers now. Again.

*" Dire need of human contact "

What an awful experience that sounds @halava .

But your extrapolation is obviously ludicrous. Well to anyone logical.

sunglassesonthetable · 25/07/2024 12:38

According to your logic If all these folk with dogs can't " forge normal relationships with humans ( "😂 ) then so be it.

The dogs are needed.

Obviously arse in the first place but hey.

Have you ever been to mainland Europe?

Awash with dogs!

halava · 25/07/2024 12:41

@sunglassesonthetable When you're muddled with painkillers because of a dog in a park, well extrapolation is the least of my worries. Maybe a brandy would be better, might get the St Bernard that I see in the distance now and then to bring me a large one from that barrell around its neck. He can leave it on the doorstep and ring the bell, cos well, dogs - they are just like humans and are faultless.

Well muddled does sound a good description.

sunglassesonthetable · 25/07/2024 12:44

Well haven't seen anyone else say that. You must have a different bingo card.

They will hit a peak, then plummet. As the posts on here will attest to. SO many people hate dogs now. I was ambivalent a decade ago. Now I actively despise them.

VeterinaryCareAssistant · 25/07/2024 12:50

I think there will be less dogs as time goes on, but I think it will be more do with COL, more people being forced to work full time, plus the rising veterinary fees rather than more people disliking dogs.

sunglassesonthetable · 25/07/2024 12:51

Obviously these posts are a very scientific measure.

And so are your feelings.

Do they get banned after that?

We'll wait.

Awash with dogs!

Only because they breed on the streets due to lack of neutering.

England has just as many, if not more, unwanted dogs by the way. We just put them in 'animal centres' for months/years instead.

England is not a nation of animal lovers. Just animal hoarders and wanters.
