Unfortunately I can't link to her clip, but she's a star and a hero. She pinned him down and cut through the "twaddle". I am a swing voter and would have been proud of a mntter holding any mp to account on an important issue like Jane did. Jane is/was even trending on twitter.

I would imagine the percentage is more like 99% of the population who are sick of the gender woo shite.

The mad echo chamber these followers live in seems to completely distort their perception of reality.

JanefromLondon1 · 29/06/2024 18:20

Churchview in fairness I shouldn't have said 51% of the population, I should have said the majority of the population as the majority of the population surely know you cannot change sex and these men are not women. DH pointed that out to me this morning.

It's like a bad joke.

Man goes into a doctor's surgery.
Says Doctor I think I'm a woman.
Doctor gives him a piece of paper stating he is a woman.

There's no punchline, because it's really not at all funny.

I knew what he was going to trot out when I asked him the question, a non answer. The same old spiel about the DPP. Now what he did in the DPP, that wasn't what I was asking him. He did eventually state that in fact the answer to my question was no. He wasn't going to protect sex based rights but actually make it easier for men to access biological women only spaces. That's what I wanted to know.

Twaddle was the only word I could think of to cover shit/crap, I thought it was actually quite restrained. I said in regard to this issue. So I meant the crap he comes out with about sex based rights.

I didn't mention anything else that comes out of his mouth and it wasn't a political point scoring exercise. I would have asked Rishi Sunak the same question if he had not previously stated that he believes in sex based rights and will protect women.

I didn't expect all this attention and have made damn sure no one knows who I really am because women cannot speak out about this issue without the TRA attacking them. I didn't expect to be castigated by other women for asking that we aren't put in harms way for the dignity of a few men.

Churchview · 29/06/2024 18:22

@JanefromLondon1 Thank you for such a reasonable and thoughtful response.

Considering they believe people can change sex their grasp of reality is somewhat questionable.

ilovesooty · 29/06/2024 18:23

@JanefromLondon1 how is it castigating you to say that you had every right to ask the question, which you did very clearly, but some of us women thought you were rude after that?

borntobequiet · 29/06/2024 17:39

Though the effects of medication and surgery can be horrendous. Testosterone is toxic to the female body, and phalloplasty can result in serious complications. The friendly sounding “top surgery” is more commonly known as a double mastectomy, which in normal life would be considered something to be avoided unless suffering a potentially fatal condition such as breast cancer.

If adults want to take testosterone and have a double mastectomy what business is it of yours?

Mirabai · 29/06/2024 18:26

Churchview · 29/06/2024 18:06

What 51% of the population do you think she was speaking for when she said "You need to think about 51% of the population who are sick of the absolute twaddle that comes out of your mouth when we ask these questions."

Did she say “and I personally speak for every single one of them?” Nope. She is generalising about women who feel the same.

GailBlancheViola · 29/06/2024 18:27

Crime of the Century alert - in a.n.other woman's opinion a woman was rude.

Do you know what is really rude, insulting, offensive and downright abusive? The stuff that pours out of the mouths of TRAs towards women every, single day.

It is also damn rude for a politician who is likely to be the Leader of this Country in a few days time not to answer the reasonable question of a citizen of the Country he will soon be presiding over.

You were completely brilliant. Ignore those detractors who are more invested in males than females.
You spoke for SO MANY women and you really showed what Starmer is made of - soggy cardboard.

Well drugging and butchering people on the NHS (or indeed privately) is something that as a civilised society we should perhaps make our business, no?

You did brilliantly. You're not media trained like Starmer is, nor are you elected nor the leader of the opposition used to having to speak in public and have debates and yet you wiped the floor with him and most people (myself included) would rather you became PM.

Don't let the people trying to nitpick bring you down. JKR thinks you're on fire! Her opinion counts more than any handmaiden on here. They're nitpicking because they don't want to talk about the twaddle he's speaking all the time on this issue - they're trying to distract.

You got your point across well even if the precise words weren't perfect. It's actually really hard to get exactly the right words when in a public situation like that if you're not used to it.

ThirdSpaceFan1 · 29/06/2024 18:30

I think your questions were brave and important. It’s important women are strong and visible on this topic. It’s important that we interrupt when we are flannelled, talked down to, ignored, patronised and minimised. It’s important when the politicians dodge the real question, when they know FULL well what the question is asking.

And it is important that other women - especially young women- hear the older generations of women sticking up for women’s rights so they hear our passion and anger.

I thought you did a great job, Jane from London.

This.

I am actually quite embarrassed for those posters on here dancing on the head of a pin and lining up to have a pop at a brilliant woman who dared to question the great Starmer.

borntobequiet · 29/06/2024 18:32

I was pointing out that these medical interventions can be problematic. I assume that you don’t want people to be aware of this.

I’d also advise against, for example, having your tongue bifurcated to look like that of a lizard, or any other extreme body modification such as limb amputation (people do both these things). Why are my freely expressed opinions any business of yours?

@JanefromLondon1 how is it castigating you to say that you had every right to ask the question, which you did very clearly, but some of us women thought you were rude after that?

No he was being rude. If I ask a question I expect an answer. That was the whole point of him being on the radio. I had a finite amount of time to get an answer and wasn't going to listen to him run the clock down and not provide an answer.

I didn't care about what he did in the DPP, (to be totally honest, every time he trots out that line I have a vision of him crawling along the white cliffs of Dover in navy seals gear wearing night vision goggles shooting down 6 planes to save our mortal souls when really he was just the admin guy who stepped in after the real intelligence jobbies had done the work) I wanted to know if he would protect our rights as women to have safe spaces.

How would you have gone about the very brief conversation to get him to answer the question?

dougalfromthemagicroundabout · 29/06/2024 18:35

It is incredibly rude not to answer a direct and simple question from a voter, especially if you want to be PM ffs. He's an expert at being rude to women this way, misogynistic prick.

Well said Jane!

ScribblingPixie · 29/06/2024 18:36

I think it was really important that you voiced anger and impatience at his refusal to be honest and say what we all know, that he's planning to make our lives less safe, less comfortable and less pleasant. That's what made the headlines and that's what people wanted someone to have the bottle to say. But of course inevitably I can't believe some people are saying you should have sat like a good girl waiting for the twoddle to be dished out.

ilovesooty · 29/06/2024 18:37

This.

I am actually quite embarrassed for those posters on here dancing on the head of a pin and lining up to have a pop at a brilliant woman who dared to question the great Starmer.

You can save your embarrassment.

I think it's rude to begin shouting at someone almost immediately after asking a question. She had to be asked to let him answer and when he did you can hear her sighing.

I think people should be able to offer this opinion without being insulted and called names.

Flowers4me · 29/06/2024 18:37

@JanefromLondon1 you were brilliant Jane and I thought you drove your points home really well. If anyone is rude it was/is Starmer for not properly listening to women, shutting down conversation and fobbing us off with mealy-mouthed excuses. And now the latest, he walks away before being challenged - says it all about the man.

blue345 · 29/06/2024 18:38

I didn't care about what he did in the DPP, (to be totally honest, every time he trots out that line I have a vision of him crawling along the white cliffs of Dover in navy seals gear wearing night vision goggles shooting down 6 planes to save our mortal souls when really he was just the admin guy who stepped in after the real intelligence jobbies had done the work)

I thought you did really well.

As for the DPP, I have a friend who worked with him during this period and said he wasn't nearly as Harvey Spectre as he makes out. Very much took on the safe cases he thought he'd win and swerved the more challenging but potentially more important cases.

ArabellaScott · 29/06/2024 18:38

It's really very simple:

'Male women must get all our sympathy and kindess and dignity.
Female women must shut up and go away, because their privacy, safety and dignity doesn't actually matter.'

'Male women don't want to change with other men - poor lambs, let them avail themselves of the soothing and validating women's spaces.
Female women don't want to be in with men - screeching rude horrible bigot harpies, cancel them'.

ArabellaScott · 29/06/2024 18:39

Also, Jane from London, you weren't rude. Starmer started up the usual tedious well rehearsed bullshit, and you got understandably exasperated with it.

You spoke for so many women, Jane, and I'm very grateful.

ResisterOfTwaddleRex · 29/06/2024 18:40

@JanefromLondon1 how is it castigating you to say that you had every right to ask the question, which you did very clearly, but some of us women thought you were rude after that?

I didn't. What I do think is rude, is running down the clock with Tales From My Time As DPP, then trying to patronise Jane with blatant falsehoods, thinking she and we we are so dense we can't tell.

(Seriously how much did this guy pack in as DPP? Visiting "safe spaces", busting criminal gangs, tackling VAWG all on his lonesome...anyone would think he might have overstepped the line in what is supposed to be an impartial and crucial function of the CJS. Or gilding the lilly, thinking we can't tell what the CPS does vs what the police do)

More recently, I think running away from a question that impacts all women and children. Now that is rude.
