WHERE is the sun?!! It is ludicrous, I don't remember a June like this for years and I keep depressing myself with the fucking BBC weather app. They promised sunshine and warmth and now they are saying rain, rain, rain. How on earth is anyone supposed to cope? I am going to Barcelona in a few weeks, and I am counting the seconds. AARGH!

We are obviously getting the shitty end of the stick. I will cheer myself up by reminding myself that we won't always get the worst of it, that I'm on holiday in a few weeks, and the next summer is bound to be better.

Lovely here on the south coast. Going straight to the beach after school.
Hope you get some sun soon!

The difference is that the heat will only last for days, if that. The miserable weather we've been having has gone on for MONTHS!! I would have more sympathy for the heat haters if it was going to go on and on with no end in sight. Plus the crack about warm shower being like Glasgow weather wasn't remotely funny, just annoying.

Nah, the difference is that it's much easier to stay warm in cool weather than it is to stay cool in warm weather. Nobody lives in Scotland for the sunny weather, and many people don't cope well with it.

So if you are going to make a snarky comment, expect to get one back (with added humour)

I'm glad that the rest of the country seems to be doing better. I keep reminding myself that the BBC app is usually wildly inaccurate, so maybe the sun will come soon. I'm still counting the seconds to Barcelona, though. And then I'm in Berlin. It's just a matter of waiting.........

bbc forecasting is useless. The met Office is more accurate, although you might not want to see the weather for Glasgow for the next few weeks.

We're quite sweary in Scotland too.

😂

JenniferBooth · 24/06/2024 13:10

@MsLuxLisbon come live in my shitty sauna of a one bedroom flat and say that

North Midlands here, and it's stunningly beautiful. 24C, due to go up to 26C later, and is set to be luscious all week. 😎 It's been gorgeous all weekend too. I am doing my 'work' (as in paid job,) in the garden. Hope you get this amazing weather soon @MsLuxLisbon

So do I, but the forecast says otherwise.

I’m sitting in sunshine just outside of Glasgow, yes it’s a bit cloudy but not grey and overcast.

No plans to, but the 'likes' suggest you might be letting your weather woes cloud your judgement.

ErrolTheDragon · 24/06/2024 13:12

Sorry to be unsympathetic OP... being in Lancashire, usually the cool wet bit of England I know it can be wearing. The summer when I was expecting DD (1998), the top half of the country was blanketed in cloud for virtually the whole time.

GasPanic · 24/06/2024 13:12

Overcast in the midlands but fairly warm (about 25C) as it should be at this time of year.

TheLadyOfTheFlowers · 24/06/2024 12:18

Really? It is BAKING here - am pleased the sun has gone in for a bit!

Where are you?

Yes, baking 🌞🌞🌞

Not very helpful to show a forecast for the south with lovely weather. Is it supposed to make the OP feel better?

StaunchMomma · 24/06/2024 13:13

Boiling in the Midlands today.

Surely nobody in Scotland expects a long, hot summer?!

TuesdayWhistler · 24/06/2024 13:14

OP you're expending a lot of energy to tell everyone how miserable you are living where you live.

Use that energy on Rightmove.

Devon, Cornwall, Milton Keynes.
Tons of gorgeous places to live.

Thank you, at least you have some empathy. I hope that most of the other posters on this thread never have bad weather woes and post asking for sympathy. The 'it's so hoooottttt' moaners are getting on my last nerve.

@MsLuxLisbon I left glasgow 16 years ago due to the weather. 😂🙈

justlonelystars · 24/06/2024 13:15

I’ll swap with you. 8 months pregnant and baking in SE England. Rain please come back!

Thank you. I have to admit to a sneaking hope that the complacent people will wake up to grey skies and a dismal forecast. That can happen, the forecast is very volatile and changes a lot day to day.

It's sunny and hot here. High of 24C today. I'm in t-shirts and shorts and I'm one who feel the cold a lot. So YABU.
