WHERE is the sun?!! It is ludicrous, I don't remember a June like this for years and I keep depressing myself with the fucking BBC weather app. They promised sunshine and warmth and now they are saying rain, rain, rain. How on earth is anyone supposed to cope? I am going to Barcelona in a few weeks, and I am counting the seconds. AARGH!

Wow, Glasgow.
A bit far from here.
Seriously, OP, I get it's miserable and it gets some
people down.
However, I sometimes care about "likes", some
of them and some comments lift the mood
a wee bit!

MsLuxLisbon · 24/06/2024 13:17

TuesdayWhistler · 24/06/2024 13:14

OP you're expending a lot of energy to tell everyone how miserable you are living where you live.

Use that energy on Rightmove.

Devon, Cornwall, Milton Keynes.
Tons of gorgeous places to live.

Oh yeah, because everyone can just upstakes and leave family, friends, job, etc. on a whim. Good lord.

I'm a Glaswegian but moved to SE England 17 years ago. The difference in weather is incredible. I spend most of my time being too hot!

Not very helpful to show a forecast for the south with lovely weather. Is it supposed to make the OP feel better?

The OP asked where the sun was. I’m answering the question.
Like pretty much every response on this thread with posters saying it’s sunny where they are….

Coastalcreeksider · 24/06/2024 13:17

South coast, glorious, very warm. About time too. 😎

UnaOfStormhold · 24/06/2024 13:18

I remember a summer when the whole country was basking in a heatwave except Edinburgh which had its own personal patch of thick fog. Which lasted for what felt like weeks.

I feel your pain OP, can you find an excuse to nip up the road to North Lanarkshire for a bit of solar therapy?

headstone · 24/06/2024 13:18

It’s cloudy here in the south west too, if that makes you feel better OP.

And yet you said

I really, really need to think about moving somewhere warmer

SummerBarbecues · 24/06/2024 13:16

It's sunny and hot here. High of 24C today. I'm in t-shirts and shorts and I'm one who feel the cold a lot. So YABU.

How can I be BU when it isn't like that where I live!? JFC.

guineapigthyme · 24/06/2024 13:18

I know what you mean. I'm in SW England so not close to Glasgow at all, but it's the same here (in my bit of SW England, anyway!) It's not cold - it's just so, so grey. The forecast will predict sun every now and again, but it never actually materialises. We have had about 3 sunny days (and I mean blue sky and sunny, not just grey and warm - that doesn't count!) this year.

I live in a damp, mild part of the UK so I'm not expecting beautiful weather all summer long, but like you've said, we usually get something a lot better than this. I feel like I've been cheated out of spring already, and if summer goes the same way I'll cry. It's not the temperature - it's how grey and depressing it is. It could be 10C and sunny and I'd be happy with it at this point.

As someone who really struggles in winter and looks forward to a bit of sunshine as the literal light at the end of the tunnel, it's not as inconsequential as some people might think! If it gets to the end of the summer and we haven't had a decent spell of weather, it's going to be basically 18-24 months of non-stop feeling depressed.

ErrolTheDragon · 24/06/2024 13:18

The met office forecast suggests Glasgow should get a bit of sun later today, op, and quite warm. Fingers crossed, OP.

Tel12 · 24/06/2024 13:19

You need to head south. It's sweltering this week.

letmeeatinpeace · 24/06/2024 13:19

For the first time I've actually come to realise that my favorite weather is HOT AND CLOUDY, so it's perfect in London right now lol.

I always think I like the sunshine, but then complain when it's too hot.

madammetooSADs · 24/06/2024 13:19

Surely this is a joke post? Its hot and its been hot presuming youre UK based (I think most here are)

Jenasaurus · 24/06/2024 13:20

23 degrees here today in the SE, with a very high pollen count too :)

Well I wish the rain they've talked about would arrive,, poxy humidity is a curse.

JanglingJack · 24/06/2024 13:20

Cloudy here in Midlands but very warm.

I'll take that!

Yeah, I meant abroad, not UK. And it takes long term planning. I am also irritatied by the people who say Glasgow is such an awful place for weather. It really, really isn't, normally. We don't get floods, for one thing. I was just having a bit of a moan and a million people have to come on and gloat, which is unusual. Normally weather threads are quite kind and the jolly hockey sticks just get on with it types are told where to go, so I was a bit taken aback.

If you're in the U.K. surely you know that different parts can have significantly different weather?

Thanks very much. You're a beacon on light in this mean and rather dense thread!

my favorite weather is HOT AND CLOUDY

That's just weird.Grin
Cool crisp sunshine is the best thing.

Blueberrycreampie · 24/06/2024 13:22

I was in Scotland twice last year, firstly in Ayrshire in May and then in Edinburgh and Glasgow in June. Cloudless skies and hot and sunny every day. What has happened this year? By the way I'm from Glasgow and finding it too hot in the SE! Longing for some Glasgow rain lol.

Apollo365 · 24/06/2024 13:22

It’s gorgeous here!

Apollo365 · 24/06/2024 13:23

Sorry adding another dense voice to the thread 😬😳
