WHERE is the sun?!! It is ludicrous, I don't remember a June like this for years and I keep depressing myself with the fucking BBC weather app. They promised sunshine and warmth and now they are saying rain, rain, rain. How on earth is anyone supposed to cope? I am going to Barcelona in a few weeks, and I am counting the seconds. AARGH!

Grey clouds and cool in south Wales 😭

It is supposed to sunny tomorrow. At least it is not raining!

Savemysweets · 24/06/2024 12:43

It is glorious in the south east/London area

In SW London the skies are clouded over & it’s muggy.

AwaaFaeHom · 24/06/2024 12:43

MsLuxLisbon · 24/06/2024 12:39

That's true. BBC app is full of shit, often. It does actually seem to be cheering up now a bit. You're wrong about Glasgow, though. It is very often nicer than this in summer, it is Edinburgh that tends to get the rough weather and cold winds.

I would rather have Edinburgh's winds (which are honestly not that bad - I'm used to much worst) than Glasgow's clouds and rain (you get more rain than Shetland!)

mitogoshi · 24/06/2024 12:43

@NeverEnoughPants

Not this bit of Scotland. 16 degrees. But to be fair that's warm here!

rockingbird · 24/06/2024 12:43

I've just had my lunch in the garden it's absolutely scorching here 🫣 I do love the sun! Sorry it's not looking brighter where you are x

AhBiscuits · 24/06/2024 12:44

Hot and cloudy in Bristol today.
We're all a bit sun-kissed after camping for the weekend in Somerset, the weather was glorious all weekend.

whynosummer · 24/06/2024 12:44

It was really sunny this morning and now it's muggy and overcast. 25 degrees though, which is something.

Borborygmus · 24/06/2024 12:46

It's way too hot here, and sadly it's going to remain that way for 4 days.

MsLuxLisbon · 24/06/2024 12:47

Comments seem to be getting more realistic. The people who say it's 'too hot' are really annoying me lol. Take a cool shower or something! It's hardly 50 degrees! I actually normally love cool autumnal weather and look forward to it every September, but not if I've had no summer. I literally could weep. I really, really need to think about moving somewhere warmer.

Currently frying to a crisp in Paris.

MrsTartanTeacosy · 24/06/2024 12:49

West Coast Scotland here and it is miserable, and has been for ages. It’s so grey, the wind won’t stop on the odd day you do get a bit of sun and there’s a fair bit of heavy rain mixed in. Hardly sitting oot weather; loads of people still have their fires on.

Maybe you should take a warm shower or something. Would be a good approximation of a Glasgow summer... 😂

BorgQueen · 24/06/2024 12:51

It’s absolutely perfect, slightly overcast, warm but not hot and sticky.
Perfect for driving. Perfect for painting fences. Perfect for gardening and perfect for walking to and from school.

BabyBobs · 24/06/2024 12:52

Beautiful weather here.

spikeandbuffy · 24/06/2024 12:52

24c here and planning first outdoor swim tonight!

What is 'perfect' about overcast?

I got rather sunburnt yesterday in Suffolk, OH said it was very similar at home in Shropshire

Today it's overcast but still hot

malificent7 · 24/06/2024 12:53

Op ...you live in Glasgow. That is the problem.
I lived in Glasgow for 2 years....amazing city but not known for sun...also going to Barcelona soon!

Pixiedust1234 · 24/06/2024 12:54

MsLuxLisbon · 24/06/2024 12:35

As I say, it isn't cold. It is just grey and miserable. Usually people are really sympathetic on these kinds of threads. I'll remember this next time anyone else posts a weather thread, and make sure to point out that it's lovely where I am.

I would love to swap with you right now. Can't have windows open or the fans on this week and it's boiling inside 😩

I'm sure you will get it soon... just when the rest of us get the torrential rainfall and flooding. Then you can gloat 😉

FunZebra · 24/06/2024 12:54

MsLuxLisbon · 24/06/2024 12:23

I'm in Glasgow and it is MISERABLE here. Not cold, just grey.

Not really sure what you expect. I live in Wales and it rains constantly. Like Manchester.

You need to move elsewhere if you want guaranteed sun!

FrenchandSaunders · 24/06/2024 12:54

I’m glad … it was 43 on holiday last week 🥵

Not funny. I genuinely feel like I'm having a minor breakdown with this shit and the comments aren't helping at all. I'm genuinely glad that others seem to be having a better time, but please don't everyone keep saying 'it's perfect where I am' and 'it's always like this is Glasgow'. That is, respectively, unhelpful and smug and untrue!

We haven't had a summer as bad as this in years. Luckily, I get to spend some time of the year in London, but this year I've had more to do up here so have been stuck. I find your response very unhelpful.

I find your response really unhelpful

Sorry @MsLuxLisbon this is not the Chat forum. This is AIBU

The forum has a particular question "Am I being unreasonable" which is the filter through which we view these posts.

If you wanted sympathy, have a chat to folk in your area - they probably know the weather better than we do.

If you wanted sunshine, come down here to the SE - we get plenty of it.

I hate bright sunshine, it gives me migraines and photo sensitive rash so overcast is perfect for me as I don’t have to hide indoors with closed blinds.
