WHERE is the sun?!! It is ludicrous, I don't remember a June like this for years and I keep depressing myself with the fucking BBC weather app. They promised sunshine and warmth and now they are saying rain, rain, rain. How on earth is anyone supposed to cope? I am going to Barcelona in a few weeks, and I am counting the seconds. AARGH!

The temps this year are lower in London than last year. It's cold, and wet. Last year I wore sandals every day this year I'm still in my winter work clothes

chaosmaker · 09/07/2024 16:27

I can't stand it too hot and humid. I'm enjoying it when it's cooler at night as I can sleep with the window open. Still seems to be getting hot at 4am for some reason though. Also still too light, too early. I don't mind the sun when it's breezy or slightly raining. Otherwise I burn. We haven't had proper seasons here for decades.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 09/07/2024 16:45

Ifnind this so confusing because it’s basically autumn and shouldn’t be light at 5.00 am.

Heating on today.

Scorchio in Glasgow today. People sitting out at the bars, was lovely.

Yesterday WAS lovely in Glasgow. Warm and sunny. And today? Rain, grey, 13c.

Fizbosshoes · 09/07/2024 23:45

One unexpected consequence of the unseasonal/autumnal weather is how much food the cats are eating! 🤣
Their summer "regime" is come in around 7am for breakfast, then go in the garden and lie under a bush for the rest of the day (if they are feeling energetic they might move somewhere else to lie down part way through the day) ....and then they might come back around 10pm for food.

Now they are coming in just about hourly multiple times through the day wanting food. This is their September regime when they seem to fatten themselves up for winter...and then spend winter lying on someone's bed!
We have literally run out of food this eve, one of them was still sitting expectantly in the kitchen hoping for his 7th meal of the day!

JenniferBooth · 09/07/2024 23:49

certainly feels like summer to me because of the humidity in this shitty country.

Saltyspray · 09/07/2024 23:57

It’s the darkness, wind and downright cold that seems incongruous even compared to an average shit wet summer

Lion1618 · 09/07/2024 23:59

It is absolutely dire here in Cornwall. I've seen people walking around in duvet coats and boots. Completely greyed out sky with misty fogginess and sideways rain, day in day out. We've probably had around 4 properly warm days all Spring/Summer, and calling 23° for one or two days in June a heatwave is a joke. I feel like the weather reporting is trolling us. It's summer. It's supposed to be warm.
Can you tell we're all utterly depressed and fed up with it now? As for those people who are already bleating on about how they can't wait for Autumn...

Damn right i cant In this shitty sauna of a one bedroom flat

Wonderfulstuff · 10/07/2024 05:42

I’m not so worried about hot days but I cannot take another crazy humid day in london like yesterday. Frizzy hair melted face is not the one. And because it was grey outside the heating in the office was set to 25 degrees.

A woman in her 40s cannot take such things!!

Butchyrestingface · 10/07/2024 05:50

I’m in Scotland. It’s pure pish here.

A friend told me it’s our worst summer since 2017!

I have got my SAD lamp back out

My cat is the same, in all day sleeping, eating and has his winter belly early. Normally he's very thin this time of year with being outside and climbing trees all day

Thats because idiots always think grey and rain = cold
Humidity makes my bowel problem worse.

Fizbosshoes · 10/07/2024 22:02

Mostly it has been grey, rainy and cold though!
It's barely made high teens this summer

TeenLifeMum · 10/07/2024 22:05

I’m back I’m my winter pjs and so sick of rain. We had about 3 days of sun but it’s been miserable since. Even the dog seems fed up of wet walks. We’re going on holiday soon and it’ll be hard to come back! Can’t get over the price of uk holidays when we can pay less and have great weather, pool and food all included.

lazzapazza · 10/07/2024 22:10

This weather is absolute bobbins. Bring back summer 2022 even if it means a few days of forty degrees.

IfIHadAHeart · 11/07/2024 09:07

Well it’s another day of pissing down rain here. It’s so depressing.

socks1107 · 11/07/2024 10:11

It's nice here! I've put the washing in the garden

SerafinasGoose · 11/07/2024 10:29

If I wake up to one more day of dull grey skies I think I'll sob.

Polelpuv · 11/07/2024 14:03

Lovely and sunny here today after a pretty rubbish week. Forecast looking good for the next week.

Yeah on public transport the heating is on if it's raining or grey. Err it's July, it's still warm!

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 11/07/2024 19:49

The person who said it rarely snows and only drizzles😲

I live in the snowiest city in England. It bloody dumps loads every single winter. And it pisses down here, not just gentle drizzle.

And with all that snow we get quite extreme temperatures. I remember one particular walk in lockdown when it was windchill factor of -14.

Are you sure we live in the same country?

socks1107 · 12/07/2024 08:00

Back to the endless grey and drizzle in London. Deep joy

xtinabale55 · 12/07/2024 21:34

Same midlands here and it's been heavy constant all day downpours for endless days, we've had I think 2-3 days of lovely weather since May kicked in & that's been it! Set for a 3-4 days of shite weather and we're almost in mid July already what a crock of abs depression it's been!
