Did anyone enjoy Taylor but felt at 3.5 hours it…. dragged a little?

I admit that i’m not her biggest fan and it was a bit of a fluke that i got a ticket to go with friends.

I enjoy her music and think she’s amazing but a dedicated Swiftie… I am not!

I just felt that it could have been at least thirty mins shorter and would have been more enjoyable. Even amongst the hardened Swifties around us, I sensed a little restlessness.

Anyone else agree?

We were there last night. Couldn't see anyone flagging and there was enough energy to make Wembley shake with the surprise songs. Only Taylor Swift can pull off a 3 hour show like that.

ah you sweet summer child. Bruce springsteen is in his 70s. I've never seen him do under 3 hours

greencartbluecart · 24/06/2024 08:10

I think @CurtainsOfSparta only Taylor could pull of a 3 hr gig and get a thread bemoaning the fact

I certainly didn't see a one saying Springsteen got boring towards the end for example

She's the woman so many love to put down it seem

I'm glad you've joyed it but please stop with the 'only TS can.....'.

Ever been to a Springsteen gig? He makes three hours feel like forty five minutes!

Ifyouinsistthen · 24/06/2024 08:11

I don’t love or hate her. What I don’t understand is how strange and obsessive some people are about artists like TS or Beyoncé. Talented artists for sure but it’s almost cult-like and scary how their super fans react to even the slightest criticism - as evidenced on this thread and many others! Anyway - everyone I know who went to her concerts has said they had a great time and didn’t complain about the length of the show. Several said they’d watch it again if they could afford to.

LunaNorth · 24/06/2024 08:11

Oh. RTFT, Luna 😂

stressedespresso · 24/06/2024 08:13

Good to hear that you took a ticket you didn’t really want OP.. I’m sure the thousands of young girls across the country desperate for one would be really sympathetic to your plight 🙄

Renamedyetagain · 24/06/2024 08:13

Sorry for multiple posts, shit WiFi!

misssunshine4040 · 24/06/2024 08:13

To poster who said her dad bought her career, can you elaborate

FromBackHome · 24/06/2024 08:15

I’ve seen Taylor twice on this tour. No one was flagging. Everyone was still singing on the way out. It didn’t feel like 3 hours either time.

This just sounds like yet another ‘shes not that good’ thread. 🙄

Funkyslippers · 24/06/2024 08:16

Alwaysthesun24 · 24/06/2024 07:55

I was just about to say that.

But it's a show. She sings and dances so you wouldn't want her to just stand there in the same outfit would you?

Eh?
Her outfit makes no difference to her music.

I don’t love to put her down, but her fans drive me wild. They think it’s okay to attack and abuse anyone who isn’t a fan. I’ve seen them claim anyone who doesn’t like her is a bad person, isn’t a ‘girls girl’, should be removed from this mortal coil. To claim she’s the only person who could pull off xyz or that other lady on the ticket thread should should be grateful to see her because they would well a kidney for the opportunity - some of her fans are entirely unacceptable in their behaviour.

I’m sure she does a good gig. But that doesn’t mean she is the only person who can pull off a decent 3 hour performance. Lots of other musicians do too and are amazing entertainers for a whole variety of reasons, why do we have to blindly accept what Taylor Swift fans say all the time? If you say you’re not a fan you’re immediately attacked and people say shit about you. It’s insane.

Well said!

greencartbluecart · 24/06/2024 08:18

I object to what seem like unnecessary criticism- if you haven't got anything nice to say about someone perhaps don't say it

it seems bitchy when so many fans couldn't get tickets to say "I'm not a real fan and now I will critise the gig "

Especially when it always seems targeted not at the hundreds of mega big male acts - I picked on Springsteen as I know he was playing uk last month - but just oh the most successful female artist.

you know this is a discussion board so if people want to criticise they can expect others to disagree

Smittenkitchen · 24/06/2024 08:18

Oh God.. I still get flashbacks of the two (!) Springsteen shows my husband dragged me too. I think 4.5 hours long?!! I was losing the will. Admittedly, I'm not much of a fan. But I think anything over 2.5 would be too long for me, even if I were a huge fan.

Iaskedyouthrice · 24/06/2024 08:19

The OP has merely questioned whether the set was too long. Thats it. The replies are mind boggling. An adult human actually wrote this...

It's just not a healthy response to a simple question is it?

greencartbluecart · 24/06/2024 08:19

And if this is an attack or abuse you are just weird

TheTwirlyPoos · 24/06/2024 08:19

Oh good, another thinly veiled slagTaylor swift off thread.

Real fans do deserve the tickets, hence all of the effort made with pre-sale codes when it comes to TS.

So we're only allowed to speak of TS in a positive way? That's not logical.

greencartbluecart · 24/06/2024 08:20

It's just nasty to brag that you don't see yourself as a fan but took a ticket and then complained you didn't like it

If you start off being nasty you shouldn't be surprised to get it back

Alwaysthesun24 · 24/06/2024 08:21

Again, nobody deserves a ticket more than anyone else.
Also, 'real' fans are free to pass comment, good or bad.
Telling people who deserves to go or what they can to say is a little, well, cult.
